Yes the right tools for the right job. Also you have to be focus and patience in doing this. Not to you I'm just saying can't be mad at the world and doing drum brakes at the same time. Thumbs up on this one.
I had a broken cable I believe in my rear passenger side , and it made it so that the entire anti-lock brake system was acting weird . Like making my front brakes lock up instantaneously even though I have at least 80% of my pad life left .
That’s very unusual maybe the rear abs sensor was acting up. I’ve never heard of a brake cable causing abs problems but maybe when it broke the cable was applied and the shoes are now dragging a bit?? Just a thought
@@RangerShop1 I got it fixed so its working great now , I didn't do the work myself . But the mechanic is a good friend of mine , and he told me that the main issue was just the passenger side rear brake was the problem .
I’ll bring you my ranger lol. The brake fluid leaks out of my drivers side drum. Not sure if it’s the E Brake or what. After watching this video, I just don’t know it have the time to do the brakes my self!
😂 You can do it. Just keep one side together for reference. Are you sure it’s brake fluid and not diff fluid? Usually if you see fluid it’s the axle seal…. Unless of course your brake fluid in the reservoir is dropping. Either way you can fix it 😁👍
Well this was pretty much useless. Why the hell didn't you show how you installed the new ebrake cable. Because it is not easy. I would like to offer a friendly tip. If you are just going to be replacing your shoes. When you are removing the old shoes. This guy showed you how the bar that holds the ebrake cable is attached to the shoe, with that little washer and keeper. Well on the other end of that bar your ebrake cable is attached to it. In your ranger Manuel and in almost all videos on TH-cam. It states that when you are going to r/ r your shoes to remove that ebrake bar completely ( from the brake shoe and from the ebrake cable. DO NOT DO THAT. Of coarse you are going to have to remove the keeper that holds the ebrake bar to the shoe. BUT DO NOT REMOVE THE EBRAKE BAR FROM THE EBRAKE CABLE. Just let it hang there. This little tip will save you hours of head ache. Have fun......

Well said no point getting mad at the truck it doesn’t care…. Throw something your just going to have to find it. 😄🤙
Great video, Thanks!
Glad it helped a bit! 👍
How you take the old one out?
Brake cables? Use a 1/2 or 13mm wrench box end… put it over the cable then over the tabs. Should just pop out.
