      @@WorkingWithWimberley By any chance, do you know if on the 26" US general series 2 box, can you switch out some of the smaller depth drawers with the bigger ones? Like order replacement drawers and swap them? im liking the 26" and would defintely add the top chest but it just has too many small 3" drawers and would like to have at least 4-5 deep drawers. I would add the end cabinet too to complete the whole toolbox but then the width of the end cabinet is too small lol. Any ideas? thanks and awesome job on the mod bro looks super clean. Think you can do the same to the 34" 6 drawer? cuz I have one but would be pretty awesome to add an end cabinet to it haha

    I would pull three bolts off the vertical legs, drill through to the side cabinet, and bolt the two together.

    GM , I have seen alot of these side cart mod videos ... and I like yours best , well done .. do you think I could add lockers to both sides ? thank you

      I haven’t seen anyone do that, but it should be possible. You would need to relocate the handle too.

    Nice video with simple instructions. Thanks! How is the stability? I'm concerned that too much weight in the side cabinet will make the whole thing tilt. I guess if that becomes an issue you could maybe add two casters to the bottom of the side cabinet.

    • @WorkingWithWimberley
      @WorkingWithWimberley  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It was heavy on the cabinet side when it was empty. After I put some tools in the mechanic cart portion, it’s been fine. But I always make sure to push it slowly and carefully. So far so good!

    Good clean install. Can you get matching paint or what paint did you use? Nice shop, looks like the inside of a house. LOL Great video.

      I used a random green paint from Home Depot that didn’t match that great, but it’s such a small area that it isn’t really noticeable. I’m sure you could find a better match. Thanks! 😂

    If the drawers are anything like the 5 on the main cart then you can remove them to make it a lot more manageable by yourself! Just pull one plastic tang down and the other up and it should slide out.

    Awesome, but how did it hold up as far as tipping over when you loaded the end cabinet with heavy tools ?

    • @WorkingWithWimberley
      @WorkingWithWimberley  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So far it’s been great. I haven’t had any issues with it tipping, but I don’t have the end cabinet loaded with a bunch of heavy tools.

    nice work. how does it do pushing it around now with that end cab on it?

    • @WorkingWithWimberley
      @WorkingWithWimberley  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I haven’t had any problems pushing mine around. I did swap the two fixed casters to swivel casters. That made it a lot easier. And it will have more tendency to tip if you load the attached tool cabinet heavier than the cart.

  • @pedrosolano4962
    @pedrosolano4962 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    how is does if feel with the cabinet full of tools? Does the extra weight make it want to tip over? Is it more difficult to move around the shop?

    • @WorkingWithWimberley
      @WorkingWithWimberley  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s feels fine to me. My cabinet isn’t full. I’d say it’s about 40% full. It feels stable. As far as moving it around, it was tough with the two fixed wheels. (It comes with two swivel and two fixed) After I changed them to swivel wheels, it’s easy to move around. th-cam.com/video/MLQFAYy5euI/w-d-xo.html

  • @marc2322
    @marc2322 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    are you thinking of adding wheels to the end cabinet to help with weight distribution and movement with it full of tools?

    • @WorkingWithWimberley
      @WorkingWithWimberley  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only thing I did was change the two fixed wheels to swivel wheels. Having all four swivel wheels makes it easy to move the tool cart. I haven’t had any issues with weight distribution. At least not yet.

    Good job. I have never had to do any mods to any of the big box trucks, maybe a couple holes to secure it. Why would US General build add on that needs to be modify to fit?

    • @WorkingWithWimberley
      @WorkingWithWimberley  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s because the end cabinets were made to attach to the roller cabinets, not the mechanics cart.

  • @andynunez4207
    @andynunez4207 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Does the edge of the tool cart handle the weight of the cabinet well or does it get slight bents on the edge of the cart where you hooked it up from the beginning? also awesome video

    • @WorkingWithWimberley
      @WorkingWithWimberley  ปีที่แล้ว

      It handles it totally fine. No bends on the edge of the cart from weight.

  • @JimLake.Junior
    @JimLake.Junior 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Might be better to have the cabinet lined up flush on the backside. Then the surface top lines up when the lids shut and it can sit against walls farther back.
    Depends on your setup ofc. Either is a big upgrade
