- It’s time for the first official SchizoKitzo Q and A! I answer questions about a wide variety of topics from how I make friends to my thoughts on the ketogenic diet. If you like what you see here-and enjoy this format-let me know in the comments as I’d love to do more of these! This one was a blast and it was fun to see what you guys asked!
And if you’re new here, my name is Kit and I have the bipolar type of schizoaffective disorder. My goal with SchizoKitzo is to bridge the gap between life and science to break the stigma around mental health and raise awareness for psychotic and mood disorders! So if that is your vibe then subscribe to be a part of the hive!
Enjoy the video :)

Something I have learned as well is to take your physical health just as seriously. See specialists if needed, take into account your age and what you're predisposed to genetically, and develop a plan to improve your overall health and quality of life. This can help BIG time.
I Agree. 💯
@@SmilingBeaver-ou7nc Preventative and integrated health are the key!
This was fun! People asked questions I wanted to know too, and some I hadn't even thought of. I wouldn't do keto either, it's not good for me to be on an extreme restrictive diet given my history, plus my treatment is working. I got lucky with my friends too! I don't have a ton, but they've stuck around from even before I got sick. Super lucky to have them.
I love how you answered peoples questions. Thank you for being willing to be so open and honest.
Thank you Kit🙂↕️
One day at a time I suppose!
You bet!
Q&A - what a great idea!!!! Thank you!❤️ and …. No Keto!!!!
In another video can you talk about diets and what you think about them on a deep way? Nice video again! And congrats for the new subcribes! Love your channel ❤
I might! And thanks!
Your the best.❤
I've isolated so long that parasocial interactions feel real. For instance, you feel like a friend. Fortunately, I know that parasocial experiences aren't real.
Hi! Some people can feel that the parasocial interections are real? How? Thank you if answer
@@32421AF_CG In this case, it is because the op is so candid with her mental illness. It feels like a conversation between friends.
I found your channel last week after being diagnosed with schizoaffective last year. Your channel has really helped me accept my mental illness and become more accepting of myself in the process!
Awesome!!!!
You are great. Thanks for all this amazing content.
Thank you for the amazing content!
I really enjoyed this Q&A and I would love to see you do more of them from time to time! Thank you so much for answering my question-I love that your past self would believe & take advice from your current one, & that the current you would take advice from your future self if you could. I also really liked all the fantastic and insightful responses you gave to the rest of the questions. One of my favorite things you said was how you want to keep living because you only get so many years and you've got to make them count-that's such a true statement and a great outlook to have!
Thanks so much GC! I def plan on doing another one of these :)
Congratulations 🎉👏🎉
How do you convince if someone has schizoaffective disorder with delusional to accept their condition and listen/trust to your doctor therapist to manage meds and live happily.
Keep up the great work Kit! You're amazing and I love you!
Thank you! Will do!
Everyone is stupid in college! I wish we could've gone to college together. P.S. and not at all related: I love your makeup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you! Interesting video.

i've read studies that state the ketogenic diet increases all cause mortality and besides that, it just doesn't seem like a good idea to cut out the food group that is our body's main fuel source. it doesn't really seem sustainable long term either because of how restrictive it is.
That's so true. It's not a diet to be on for an extended period of time.
The point of ketogenic diet is to have a different main fuel source. From carbohydrates to keto. Can you maybe link those studies?
Good job. Cool episode. ✅
Have you looked into or been suggested red light therapy before? I personally haven't been officially diagnosed with anything other than ADHD as a child (My school and my parents were/are confident that I have at least some sort of high functioning autism) but I've heard about red light therapy helping people who have had cognitive damage improve, notably even in people with parkinson's or with alzheimer's progression. I'm rather curious to see if it was something that you've gone through or been suggested to alleviate some of the problems that have cropped up.
Great video! congratz on 12k 😁
Haha thank you ^_^
❤❤❤❤
I just stumbled across your channel and you're awesome! My sister's name is Kiit and you are quite literally the only other person I've seen with that name ever! Your channel's awesome possum! Keep going! You rock. 🤘
Thank you so much!!
I have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis a month ago and I'm trying to stick to a ketogenic diet and stay in ketosis. What is dangerous about this diet? Have you tried it out before?
Keto diet isn’t dangerous. It’s been a doctor recommended diet for diabetics and epileptics for over 50 years. It doesn’t work for everyone but for some people it works wonders.
I agree, I am 2 months into medical keto for schizophrenia. There's a lot of stigma about different therapies, Lauren from her channel "living well with schizophrenia" has used keto to great success but there's a lot of opposition in the comments section. I never thought any diet could have such a great effect but your body/ brain actually runs on different fuel. Still needs more research in the aid of schizophrenia eg but I feel better at the moment.
Only Medical treatment for the brain which is not dangerous? Which docs?
@@JeffreyWilliams-dr7qe from my experience it’s the endocrinologists at mass general hospital in boston and Beth Israel. There are plenty more supporters of keto you can find online like dr. Chris Palmer who’s doing research on it right now.
@@alexandermatthewsmusic I was thinking about that channel as well! How is it going for you? 🙂
The keto diet can be loaded with saturated fats that can wreck your cardiovascular system. Additionally, restrictive diets are dangerous for people with eating disorders. Keto is helpful for some people, but it's not always "safe."
Meds are very imoortant. I decided to stop all my meds a couple months ago and my symptoms got really bad where i just recently did something stupid and ended up in the hospital. Im getting back on them now. So meds are very important. I went yrs with minimal symptoms while on meds. So i heard of that ketogenic diet and i thought it might work for me so thats one of the reasons i started to stop meds. Not a smart idea for me. You seem very sweet and down to earth and respect you for being so open with your mental health journey. I watch alot of your videos but usually never comment
What meds do you take I take belsomra gabapentin Clonazepam olanzapine carbamazepine benztropine and trazodone
@@xronald619x I take olanzapine klonopin buspar wellbutrin and lamictal.
@@xronald619x I have never heard of belsomra? Is that the generic name?
@@leslietisdial5753 suvorexant is the generic name. It's for sleep it works on the wakefulness receptors shuts them down allowing you to sleep. It's not a benzodiazepine or a z drug. I used to take Ambien and got put on 10 mg of belsomra
Peace Out Kat✌️
What do you mean about cognitive effects on the brain?
I've had 2 manic episodes and 2 psychotic ones and I do forget words sometimes, but I just assumed it was the meds?
Severe psychotic episodes and severe manic episodes can cause brain damage.
What s the difference between psychotic break and psychotic symptoms
A psychotic break means full blown psychosis, so you basically lose touch with reality completely and often don't even remember whatever you've done afterwards-> hospitalization needed.
With psychotic symptoms you still have some insight and self control -> they may not show that much from the outside (still gotta keep your guard up tho, cause it's still possible to slip into a full blown psychosis at some point)
@@beerillo thanks for explaining
I'm having a hard time with stayng in therapy rn idk people havent been very understanding with me. Been judged alot and even bullied over my mental health. My therapist is cool and all, but idk paranoia and voices are really getting to me.
I'm sorry to hear that you are going through a hard time. As for being bullied for mental health that's just ignorant on their part. Please stay with therapy. I stopped mine and it wasnt good for me. I'm back in therapy and on meds and things have gotten better. I hope you start to feel better
@@leslietisdial5753 therapy is hard for me
@@leslietisdial5753 i am taking my meds, but idk. I have alot going on ya know
Where do we submit questions?
I did this one in a community post and I think I’ll do that for future ones as well!
That hat looks cute, aren’t you 👲😊
