This was absolutely wonderful - loved the conversation on each specific image. I am new to ICM and this has inspired me immensely! Thank you so much! I will definitely look forward to the next one!
Thanks for your comment - I think its lovely to see such a variation and see that we all interpret things so very differently - not one of these images is 'wrong' each of their makers loves them and has enjoyed making them and is proud enough to share and I love to see the personal style and creativity coming through. Hopefully, you will enjoy the others I post - 'in the house' theme was a real eye-opener for creativity!
I think i know which image you mean. For this critique it was to embrace the positives of these images, not for me to say the images are wrong or not ICM. For me personally i would have liked to have seen a slightly more definative movement - to show exactly what the photographer wanted to achieve, now that could have been any movement - a stronger vertical to accentuate the trunks or a circular movement to accentuate the tree canopies. Images submitted to this challenge came from individuals at all levels of ICM journey, and my aim is to encourage development and experimentation to find what people like in their work - not to say that an image is not ICM.
Chris - i'm sure you can x I offer online courses as well if you are interested - I have a intro to ICM starting in September 3 sessions, small group and loads of feedback - if you are interested please drop me an email to charlotte@charlottebellamy.com - but otherwise, you can just have a go and see what happens x
How is ICM defined? If you say it‘s just enough ICM and not to much then this excludes all abstracts for me where yone can‘t really recognize the actual object anymore. So are there any limits to the movements? Or is all this individual taste only?
ICM is a very personal process. Some people love to see the original subject matter still, others find complete abstraction is the way they want to express it. I have tried to discuss in this video the positives and ways in which the images could be improved to create not 'better' ICM images as such, but more compelling Images using the ICM technique. At the end of the day ICM is a technique that lets an individual express a feeling more than just what they see with their own eys. I believe there is not a 'wring' ICM image if you love what you create. But for others to enjoy te image, sometimes improvedments can be made or certain aspects developed.

The one with the green trees avenue rather looks like a normal pic out of focus for me. So where‘s the lins between this and a proper ICM? 🤔
