    Hi Charlotte. What a spectacular walk through bluebell woodlands.
    You've shown many different images with slightly different exposure times and movements that in just 30mins of your video I've learned so much about the intricacies of ICM and this has given my so many ideas for adopting & trying out for myself.
    I think for me I really like the images created around the 1 second exposure so 8862 & 8890 were images I really liked, and again you've demonstrated that different movements can result in totally different images, some I loved and others not so much, an important lesson indeed. I thought the long exposure image (8845) was a really interesting experiment and I really liked the result that you've achieved so something else to experiment with.
    The images I really liked (apart from most of those you showed!!) were 9309 as I think it is simply stunning and a beautiful image, it hasn't lost its sense of place or focus but the ICM lifts the resulting image really well. I also really like the close-up flower images ( love flower photography) particularly 9188 which I thought was stunning and your ICM movement gave a painterly affect with the small circular movement. I really like 8909 as a flower image, it's beautiful!! and, as an experiment, would really like to see this as a combined image with 8912 as a texture and blended in Photoshop.
    I'm wondering if you have ever considered experiment with portrait mode particularly with the close-up flower images so that the flowers are shown from their roots and the trees in the background are more defined - just a thought?
    Thank-You for this video🙏 , it has given me so many ideas to think about and experiment with in my image making.
    Cheers, Stu 🤓

      Stu, thank you so much for a wonderful reply to my video. Its blown me away how much you have taken from what I presented to you. Part of learning ICM is also learning what YOU like. Anyone can teach what they do, but ICM is all about personal interpretation. I often get asked what makes a bad or good ICM image and really there is not a definitive answer - because if you love what you create, that is the most important thing. That awareness will come with time when you make an image and look at the back of the camera with excitement - that should tell you what you like. Build on this and you will also find your own style. 8 years ago I learned ICM 'bar code' style - over time i have finessed that towards what i like personally in my images, not what i think it necessarily should be. I thought your lovely long thought out comment deserved a thoughtful answer as i really appreciate you taking the time to make it.

      @@charlottebellamycreativephoto Thank you Charlotte for your considered reply. I mentioned a while back that I follow Kim Grant and through her teachings & philosophy, I have learnt to be more consider and intentional in my own creation of images, so combining this with observing your ICM skills and learning from your teachings, this will hopefully result in me being able to create ICM images that reflect my intentions and result in images that I really like, which it's all about really isn't it. 😊

      Glad you enjoyed it Thanks Morina. Its been a long time coming getting to those blubells - it was only the hail storm and changing weather that dragged me out of the woods after 4 hours!

    Excellent video!! Really enjoyed it and appreciate the explanation of how you achieved the photos with ICM with how the area looked, the shutter speed used and the movement you used. Very insightful!

    I really enjjoyed this, loved seeing the different movements and shutter speeds :) My fave images were the ones you called 'the dark woods'...loved them and the contrast they brought.

    As always, this is a very informative video. Thanks so much. I’m curious about your ISO settings, because I see that they vary quite a lot from one image to another. What is your thinking about setting and changing the ISO, along with aperture and shutter speed?

    • @charlottebellamycreativephoto
      @charlottebellamycreativephoto  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Claudia - my ISO I try to keep at 50 or 100 when I am doing ICM. You may have seen higher ISO readings when I was showing the sharp images - then I don't mind too much increasing my ISO to ensure I keep a good depth of field or a fast enough shutter speed if I am not using a tripod (which I rarely do!). I tend to think cameras have such good capabilities with ISO these days, I think nothing of going to 800 and will even use 12,800 if I don't have my tripod with me and still want the shot. With ICM I tend to select a shutter speed and adjust the depth of field first, then ISO. Hope that helped. Glad you enjoyed the video,

      @@charlottebellamycreativephoto Thank you so much, Charlotte, for the very helpful response. I recently listened to a panel discussion with 3 ICM artists, including one of whom shoots with 1000 ISO all the time, the other 2 prefer 100, which is what I have generally favored, so I was puzzled. 😁

    Thank you for including your hands in the shot - it's a great help to see the movements you make! After all, when is a jiggle actually a joggle?! Also, did you leave the ISO on auto?

    • @charlottebellamycreativephoto
      @charlottebellamycreativephoto  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Liz you make an excellent point about my hands! Glad they were useful, so many times I teach people ask me to 'actually show' what i am doing with the camera as its all well to try and explain it, but an example paints a thousand words. Most people are amazed how little movement i actually make for my ICM images. Thanks for watching this vid, hope you enjoy others.

      Hi Liz, sorry just saw your comment about auto - no I always use manual auto, and have it set as low as possible. On my Nikon Z6II that is 50.
