Sir Charles, another amazing video, lovely way of using acrylics.... I need to get me that book... I already have the Pocket Book for Watercolor Artist, and next week I will get the acrylic one.... Thanks for your time, videos and tutorial books.... I am enjoying every page of it....
I am a new subscriber Charles as my son bought me watercolour pencils for my birthday, I usually use paints but sort of lost my way and motivation over the winter. THANK YOU! For getting me interested and excited about painting again! I am following your tutorials for WC pencils and I am really enjoying listening/watching you. Sonia. N. Ireland 👍🏼
Hi Charles, Love your videos. I visited your area about 8 months ago for the first time in my life, including time spent in Alnmouth. However I am reliably informed that it is pronounced 'Alan - mouth' locally. There you go.
Oòoòo I like this and no rigging, that'll do for me, thank you , you must have been ready for a sit down and a drink or three after that session. Great painting young man 😉 I did watch all the video but I clicked the 👍 and came out. Thought I'd pop back in and say thanks 😊
Thanks Charlie - another excellent demo - and with equally excellent camera work, too. Better get that in or we're both in trouble. Ha! I've not tried acrylics so far but your tutorials are pointing me in that direction. And don't worry about the thumbs down - treat it as a badge of honour! Best wishes, my friend.
Recently found your channel on you tube enjoying your blogs a lot no fuss and no bull keep it up one question what is your easel and where can I get one
Excellent. One of the first art books I bought was your Ready to Paint: Watercolour Boats & Harbours. Using the tracing helped build my confidence. Never seen anyone use so much water with acrylic is that possible because you are using watercolour paper? Thanks
Given that you used the Hookers Green and Cobalt Blue acrylics as though they were watercolours on the background areas, I was curious as why you hadn't done the whole painting as a watercolour. Other than allowing you to add almost oil paint-like thickness to selected areas, what is the reason for using acrylics in watercolour mode as opposed to just using watercolours?
Thanks once again for a great demonstration. I have the book this picture came from, tried it and put it in the bin. Now I’ve seen this being done can’t wait to give it another go. I think you got the thumbs down for the Tommy Cooper impersonation lol. Brilliant painting and thanks. If your taking requests the painting of Blyth would be appreciated. Take care and be safe.
When I apply acrylic paint over paper, it looks shiny but yours doesn't? Does it have to do with the fact that I use a cheaper brand? Or is it the water:paint ratio?

Another great painting Charles. Can I ask a question, something that has always fascinated me, I do alot of photography and am completely left-handed, I'm sure we see the world differently from right-handers, I will always look at a picture from right to left, go through a book from back to front, do you think artists see and paint differently depending whether they are left or right handed, keep up the great work

I've recently taken up art trying both water colour, and acrylics , for me, acrylics seems a bit easier , over water colour, the colours look richer, I fail to see why water colours are popular with all there disadvantages afterall, they can be watered down same as water colour, do a lot of people share this view?
Yes a lot of people share that view. That’s why I’ve made videos painting them almost like watercolour! Watercolour is also a good discipline to master though!
