The CSX rebuilds on CSX M568 looked pretty sharp. Also the SD40-3 locomotives on NS309 looked to have been freshly painted. The SD40-3 have been in service for quite a while. Built by GE from 1966 to 1972.
What a double lead off home run to start the innings. 2 Rebuilt or repainted CSX engines in 4 engine lash up & 2 Rebuilt Dash-3s in 4 engine lash up on 309. The 309 had half the yard on it as usual, while the 15m was shorter cause it always break down & block like 9 crossings. Lol. Best was grey bonnet leader in 3 on the i010 which was motoring Jack! Friday Night alright aboard the Wide World of Trains Express on TH-camaah! 🚂🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚂🚃🚃🚃
I’m a newbie so maybe there’s a reason for this but I really like it when you show the camera way down the track so we know how much more train is coming. But thank you because this is awesome.
Nice seeing those two SD40's powering NS309...seems to me -- unlike on CSX -- Second Generation power (rebuilt and original) is scarce on Norfolk Southern. Wrapping-up ("tying the bow??") the 309 was that incredibly beat-up, road-weary UP autorack..."one for the ages"!! Even its graffiti was tattered and tired!! Also great to see that Burlington Northern autorack @20:40 amid the "humdrum" of (the ever-present) UP, CPKC, CSX, autoracks that prevail nowadays. Great stuff WWOT... 👌👌👍👍
Awesome power set on the CSX fog train. Why buy new when used will do? Awesome power on NS too. Puppy Plant local alright! Some really cool stuff on this one, enjoyed it greatly. Thanks Mike!
I have been watching your channel since 2015 - 16 Great times i like upur train meets and heritage units I got a couple of my own train videos, and i got a race of a Great Lakes Central and a CSX. i live in Flint, Michigan Great meet!👌✨️
Hi Mike. Your remark about the NS SD40-3s prompted me to research them since they are NOT the "SpongeBob Square Cabs" CSX GP and SD dash 3 types. I very much like the idea of building the front of the "Admiral Cab" of 1" steel plate vs the 1/4" sheets the standard cabs have to protect the crews. Leave it up to a Navy Admiral (J. Paul Reason on the NS Board) to suggest the cab armor AND the sloped windshields to cut glare like the Bridges of his ships had. Personal note - I served under Admiral Reason briefly when he was Commander Naval Surface Forces Atlantic before my retirement. No, he wouldn't know me, but I deeply respect him.
Love your videos keep them coming😊😊😊 My uncle was an engineer on the Grand trunk railroad so I love trains, watching them, hearing their whistles ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Here Mike Saw at Pomfret NY CSX lead 4 Locomotive 🚂 Were CSX Rebuild leading Mix Freight pull 102 Mix Freight Cars and Boxcars were Wisconsin Central and Pan AN Boxcars Going Eastbound at Pomfret NY Originated at Detroit Michigan to Selkirk NY On Wednesday January 31st 2024 From Mike World of Trains On TH-camland .
That was interesting - CSX and NS both with 4 engines each. Those CSX rebuilds look great, all shiny and clean. That'll last about a week. Wisconsin Central 👍 Roll it!
