Great video on YT about a Dr Shipman, he was an English doctor who killed hundreds of his patients about twenty years ago, superb piece of work.
That's because us British have been through a lot with wars etc bk in the day we were down to earth now we are spoilt brats and get everything handed to us on a plate

Yes and it was the BBC which now is awful.
These programmes show the sheer commitment of the police. Each episode leaves you in no doubt how grateful we ought to be to these men and women in the force who are trying to solve these awful crimes. These uploads are also such a wonderful trip down memory lane. I remember watching Crimewatch with my parents when I lived at home as a teenager. I’m assuming those who make comments about the acting don’t remember this programme when it was first on. Yes, the acting is a little dated but that’s the beauty of it. No music, nothing flash, just crime solving.

Quite a few of the people in these docs are the actual police officers who took part in the investigation. That’s why the acting isn’t that good. I think it makes it better really 👍👍.

The girlfriend was a bit too much of a posh actress - but another brilliant production from the BBC. Quality production with a quiet, gritty realism. I wish the Americans could produce stuff like this
I liked the bit where the Detective Sergeant asked for two officers to be assigned to the case. I was expecting the senior officer to say 'OK but we'll have to find someone else to help little old ladies across the road and stop seagulls stealing ice creams from tourists.'

Ten years for 33 robberies , of which , 16 were armed. Out in five years . That equates to less than 2 months for an aggravated robbery , or less than 4 months for armed robbery with violence . That should keep the do gooders happy .
you do more than half on ten year sentence, probably more like 7.5. unless its all changed

Its not a percentage sentence you fool most other crimes are taken into consideration with the most serious crime being the term of imprisonment and any similar sentence for further crimes to run concurrently. simultaneously served for each offence.

Was that the one when they chased down the morecambe double murder to a flat in London. Best ever Crimewatch file . The coppers mostly played themselves in the drama and did it really well
james dowley . No the one you are referring to was called Manhunt, about a double murder of some car dealers up north but the killer fled to London, and totally agree it was an absolute beast of an episode, engrossing from start to finish...

California only banned smoking in jail about eight years ago. They worried that there would be riots, etc. but everyone got vapes. So dumb. Of course, it just went underground and became 🤮💵💰tender for the tender.

for the number of offences 10 years is never long enough though being taken by surprise i.e having a gun pointed at you and being told"to do as your told" by armed police officers is a punishment in itself...........
