Dragons and Burial Mounds Bromfield Ludlow Shropshire

- Join Third Rate content as we further investigate and explore the ancient village of Bromfield near Ludlow Shropshire.
The necropolis of Bromfield was thought to be in use from the Bronze Age (possibly before) and at one time had 20 Tumuli. Over time most of these have been destroyed but today we visit the remaining three, while finding out about the Dragon legend of hereabouts, and Roman marching camp.

There are many Robin Hood Butts across England, most have some story connected to Robin Hood. The story from Shropshire is that he shot an arrow from the butts to St Lawrences Church which can be seen in the Chantry Chapel. More likely this large metal arrow is recognition of the Ludlow Fletcher (arrow making) industry.
