- How disable Lightabar in Dualshock 4 DS4 on Playstation 4 PS4
When start console lightbar on DS4 light on Green & after PS4 start lightbar is off,normal DS4 light on White& then on Blue.
This is not complete Turn off lightbar, it is working in game when is it using , KZ SF working like normal DS4 , but in games where only light on Blue is OFF.
When you want complete turn off lightbar (all Collors) you need cover pin 1-4

I opened the controller up and used some needle nose pliers and took out the LED for permanent removal of lightbar and it still charges and work fine

Due to a failure in my R2 I took advantage of the fact that I had the DS4 opened and I covered pin 1 with the tape used by painters (Masking tape) and, hand of saint !! xD :) TX :)
The PS4 is doing so well Sony wont listen to people that want to turn the light off. They just say fuck you deal with it.

its not use less psvr games use it its actualy one of the main selling points of there VR headset a regular VR controler that can be used for 3D platoformers like astro bot i dont see it going anytime soon or at least there being a verient of it with a light bar

If you want to fix the light just put the ribbon that connects the front and back of remote in backwards!!! The light doesn't work but everything else does and it takes less than a minute

So I took apart my ps4 controller to fix my R1 button. I placed the controller back together but then I realized the light bar wasn’t in place. It was loose and the led on my controller seems to not be shining. How do I place it back into the right place?
Never thought abt this to save battery life. I soldered my controller and installed new analogs and chip and ONLY the light doesnt work. This helped me realize i dont need to fix the light

This didn’t work for me but I did find a way to get it to work. Maybe this way didn’t work cause I have one of the new er controllers but what I did was take the plastic piece and stick it directly in the middle covering two or three of the metal strips. The lights turned off and I could still charge it with no light. Hope this helps those trying to do this and couldn’t get it to work.

hey guys i dropped my dualshock and the lights turned off...so i tried to see what happens i found that the white wire that connect the dualshoc lamp with the baterry is ruined ..i am afraid if it doesnt work again ...is there any problem or it will work normally??

Yes, I thought it fuxxed up my controller when I wanted to revert back... but the reason I got no light was because I put the ribbon cable the wrong way. :p
I recommend your method, however it seems that controller charging takes longer, right?
haha im not op, be careful about that, ribben cables are super easy to break, and reversing them can potentially shot things, seems like it wasnt the case here but just for future reference ;)

Ivo Stunga afterr dim update , there is no reason to disconnect the light bar only for more battery life, the light bar do not drain battery much. But i do it early and also i hate blue reflection on TV.

I can't find anything on the internet about how to fix a broken light bar. Mine won't turn on. Everyone brings up the charging port being broken but mine still charges. The light just won't turn on at all.

I extended my battery life by 1 hour and 40 minutes by doing this with wired headphone plugged in...i would guess it will go over 2:30 with out headphone

GUYS I figured it out in DS4 with controller connected via USB to my PC!!!! (Not sure how this works for PS4 though)
In DS4 with controller connected -> click the light bar for your controller -> custom color -> slide all 4 sliders left to 0!!! that turns off the light entirely :)

I couldn't find anything that would make my controller turn the light off without installing a third party program on my computer.
I sometimes use the controller on my phone for some games and this seemed like the only option.

+Jason M (motoj9375) Try switch user account, when you are on your second , then shout be light on red. With this upgrade is dessabled only Blue light, so when you charge battery it flashing to yellow, and when is battery full it only flash once to yellow and after this is light off.

I tried it as a second controller and it stays red. But as soon as I switch to the main profile it doesn't stay blue. Maybe the blue light is bad?
And you buy your DS4 new or you have from someone ? Because it is possibility someone has disable blue light before you.

+Jason M (motoj9375) you use new ribbon cable because i must change after couple dissassembles , because on the end this metal conection has fall out. So go check your cable it is most likely the problem.

I twisted my controller and the tabs that connect the controller broke and I tried to replace it with a different controller back but it's not the same model and now the light won't turn on

@@jeffjeff7127 I just tried this and it dont work on a newer controller if thats what you have. The ribbon on mine is on the opposite side. I cover pins 1,2 and 6-10 and no light and charger works. Can be opposite depending how u look at ribbon I guess.

Did you disassemble controller before ? Cause maybe your ribon cable is broken , if is not Cable then i thing light it self is wrong, you lost all colors or only one ?

The hell!? Can't you do this via settings or something? I'm using DS4 on pc and the driver that made pairing possible enables me to adjust both color and brightness via simple sliders. Just set everything to 0 and voila, lights off. AND every time I connect the controller back to my pc it flashes to let me know it's ready to use. Definitely no destroy needed for me.

only when you change psn acc & you still be login in to your first one your next acc has a color Red ,etc & if your DS4 is turn off & you are charging him , DS4 flashing to yellow & stop when is charged.But when you cover only pin 1 you turn off only blue color.

1. I’ve had my controller under blankets and played a full game, no bother.
2. It heats the controller up far too quickly and too much
3. The battery life is drained far faster over an option that NOBODY asked for

okay i did what he did minus the pulling the cable and putting a piece of plastic into the port pin...what i did works for almost all electronics, i did it with an mp3 player my phone and my controllers...so after you open it up take a small precision flat head or philips screw driver and lightly and carefully rub the tip across the entire circuit board or the parts you can easily access then test your controller by pressing the PS button, you should see the light bar light up and everything should be working...why does this work...your doing a manual reset of the entire circuit and resetting the electrical current to default. i. otherwords the current got messed up somehow and you're basically giving your controllers circuit board CPR. Your welcome and enjoy...if it dosent work you have a messed up ciruit board and need a new controllee
