- So when i'm try to make another video tutorial, I accidentally damaged my ribbon flex cable. it's not so difficult to replace that cable but you must make sure you buy the right cable for your DS4. because there are three types ribbon flex cable : 10 pin, 12 pin and 14 pin. if you don't know your ribbon flex cable types is, you can count the gold-plated pin in ribbon flex cable and do research in internet.
My ribbon flex type is the 12 pin. My Dualshock4 is JDS-030, I got from PS4 CUH-1206A.
I got this controller in September it could still light up but it does not recieve any charge so does that mean the ribbon cable is messed up and how can I tell?
Yeah I replaced mine, ordered from ReplaceBase in UK. If it lights up but doesn't charge, check the usb wire (use another) and consider maybe the port from the PS4, or the port on the controller. There used to be consistent problems with the controller port bending and such when being plugged in.
Try charging it with different combinations, you test things by keeping one variable the same and changing others- so first test a different wire, then a different port, testing a good controller for example would tell you if it is your PS4 with the problem not charging devices.
Only after these easy steps, open it and investigate the bottom plate and ribbon cable / connectors. Not holding charge may even be the battery. TEST all of it really
I just realized how old my control is lol. It had extra screws and few minor details but all in all same. Thx bro this saved me from buying another controller

Broooooo I just wanna say thank you so so so much. My sister bought me a custom controller that was around $200 and I had messed up the R1 button. So I tried everything I could to clean it but it still wouldn't work, so I took my controller apart and disconnected the ribbon from the battery without knowing that that wouldn't charge it, until I saw your video. Now I just fixed it and you helped me keep $200. Thanks fam

i'm afraid i can't suggest you anything because i'm personally not using elite xbox controller. maybe you can find another video that help your problem.

Hi @AloyVera #AloyVera... Can I repair any Gen 2 Board JDS-011.? I connected the port badly and now it does not turn on any light, nor does it charge, it is totally dead without signal. Maybe there is a diode that can be replaced? Or will it be that the Chip will be very delicate and died for some statics? regards!

Hey there mate, my ribbon cable had a bit of its stripes missing on the top left corner. I couldn't get it to connect, so I watched lots and lots of videos.
None of them helped, although there was one where the guy said to cut of the broken piece and keep the rest making the stripes shorter. That also did not work.
So does that mean I have to buy a new one? And I have the version 2 controller so which one should I get 12 or 14 pin?
Also how much it it?
Please respond quickly I only got 1 controller and I dont want to go and buy a new one only because of one stupid ribbon cable.
you can try to change the ribbon cable, if you're not sure which pin your controller is. you can try count the gold-plated pin in your ribbon flex cable. it's cheap btw in my country it's just around two dollar.

apparently my DS4 uses a 13pin cable (or maybe i got a 11pin cable) so just connecting it didn't work, i had to push it to one side leaving a small open gap in the entrance the size of a pin, so try this if you need

Need help from expert. My PS5 dualsense controller got broken trigger spring. So when I dissembly the controller to replace trigger spring. I was accidentally broken the copper color flexible printed circuit which connected between the motherboard and the left L2 motor and vibrator. The FPC ribbon was broken to half, 4-pin out of 16-pin were disconnected. I was counted there have total 16 pins on the cable. The size was 0.5mm each pin and width of 8.5mm on both connector side. It is looks like a "L" shape. I can't find any PS5 PFC availability out there. Even I ask directly to the Chinese sellers in taobao but not avaiable.
So now, I am decided to replace to a new 16-pin flexible cable but mostly outside there are selling the white color FFC (not FPC). FFC stand for flat flexible cable. Some of them claim for FFC is alternatives for FPC. So I'm confused. Can I replace the broken FPC to a 16pin 0.5mm FFC? I was measured my broken FPC, the width is exactly 8.5mm. Which is same width size as the FFC mentioned from the online sellers.

My controller wont charge it is the jds 030 but if i wanna buy a new i see that that white big thing on the green plate is smaller does it really matter and if it does where can i buy the one i saw in your controller
i think if your controller type is really jds 30, it's will be right. you can buy the port charger DS4 at online marketplace in your country
Hey I got a question what is the proper way to insert the cables into the device. I damaged my touchpad and back panel cable gold strips at the end of the cable while inserting them in to the connectors. Do I slide them in and not wiggle? my controller is busted at the moment.
i'm just slide them in but don't give too much pressure on it. and i'm try to not wiggle it because i'm afraid gold plated strips will be damaged.

i don't think bending won't damage the ribbon cable, you need fold the ribbon cable to make sure your ribbon cable in the right place

Version 2 controller (with light bar on front) =12 pin

I have a dualshock 4 and it had drifting issues. So I went for analog sensor fix and once I put all pieces back I noticed light bar does NOT blink anymore or turn on. In fact it turns on and can be connected to USB port but NO lights! Is it because of ribbon cable? Is it because it's broken? I took it apart again and checked out ribbon and saw those copper stuff on it which were set unevenly! Some longer than others! Could it be the reason? I really got worried over what I did and pissed me off lol. Need some real help here! Will changing ribbon cable fix the issue???
yes maybe it can be the reason. you can try to replace the ribbon cable. in my case my DS4 didn't even turn on. and then i saw my ribbon cable some stripes were missing and i immediately think, it because of the ribbon cable.

Update: so I ended up buying a new ribbon cable and when I put it in it fit but It did not light up I plugged everything in correctly so then I switched back to my old one I put that one it did light up what do I do at this point
maybe the problem not came from ribbon cable, i'm so sure to replace my ribbon cable because before i'm ruined the cable my DS4 was working perfectly. you must try investigate all the cause of problem as @RamboNoBlood say
Aloy Vera so the ribbon cable ended up working but now every time I remove it from the charger it disconnects I’m probably going to need a different battery

Do you know anything about nacon controllers ribbon cables? I damage my cable by accidentally folding it hard enough to make a little side tear to the cable when i was reassembling, it's not cut it just looks teared, any ideas about this?
