You're absolutely right, all these bits and pieces and half-measures getting nowhere. Biden like Obama got elected in no small part due their immigration promises, which they failed to keep. Every other peer country in the west with immigration pressures similar to the US has implemented regularization of status laws, often multiple times over the last 40 or so years. Go figure!

@@McBeanImmigrationLaw A big issue is there are no consequences like deportation or being jailed for living 30 years illegally in the U.S. Therefore they can live tax free, get free education and many other freebies, while USA citizens have to pay for that.
30 years in America and nothing done and things wasn't that bad then, some people come less than 2 years and have paper work
What about people who are NOT MARRIED TO A CITIZEN and have been here for several years?

What is there preventing spouses of American citizens to apply and get green cards? It’s common knowledge they can apply and are on top of the list. Has the law changed?

I think these ideas are good. I also think they should work on waivers for certain bans, for example misrepresentation. These waivers shouldn’t be discretionary if the beneficiary has all the requirements to get the waiver. This affects a lot of people tremendously and having everything required but still being at the mercy of whoever is processing your waiver doesn’t seem fair.
These fixes would be so very helpful to a lot of people.
