It’s a very annoying and tedious process. My dad got rejected for asylum twice after being targeted by a gang just for being friends with a rival gang member unknowingly. He was dragging into their feud and was stabbed several times. After desperately seeking asylum in the US he was turned down 2 times and was forced to cross illegally fearing my mom and I would be dragged in aswell.
