  • I make a simple linen tunic for my husband to wear to Ren Faire's. I essentially wanted a medieval t-shirt, I'm not sure if short sleeves are historically accurate, but this works well to convey the feel of medieval time period. Linen has great breathability for the hot temps of the summer, so this tunic is great for casual Ren Faire wear.

Abi Sue: I’ll need…less than two yards.
Dogs: You’ll need…more than one supervisor.

Thank you for the detailed instructions. About the neckline, I was taught to always have more of the neckline opening at the front, a third at the back, two thirds at the front.A crew neck neckline from a modern sewing pattern or sloper can also be used as a guide.

THANK YOU for showing us how to lay out the shirt and sleeves while pinning on the gusset! For some reason that was the part I struggled most with.

You should have your husband model it too.

I think this falls under, Just because I made you the shirt, don't think that I won't steal it. Very nice. It would look really nice under the Jen vest you just made. I mean, cough. (yeah, no, I'd just steal it.)

So how do you know how much fabric it would seam the 2 rectangle for the body would be a solid piece folded then sleeves and triangle gusset I find on Etsy most linen come 2 yards but not three or I cane go to 5 the first time I order 3 yard but it was in 1 yard increments sucks it did not work well and after 3 years started to fall apart just wondering I don't know any one who hand sews or sews with out patterns so I have to go to TH-cam any thoughts would be appreciated
