Omg when I clicked on this I was like wow this kinda looks like something dad would do. (I've never actually seen this particular car) I loved that you turned one of his old tutorials in video form. Thank you so much for keeping his memory and creative talents alive. We love you guys 💜💜💜
I have been a sign tech for over 25 years. I know all about pinstriping, either painting by hand or laying down vinyl. I can truly appreciate this type of custom work. Beautiful to behold. Thanks for posting this. Frank was a master of his craft.
Thank you sooooo much for posting this video! Frank and I were friends when we were in our model car club together and I was devastated when he passed. He taught me almost everything I know about painting model cars and its great to keep his legacy of sharing techniques alive like this!!
Thanks for watching. I will always keep Frank as an ongoing subject on my channel. He was a big part of my life. We became super close during our 40s. I even got to spend 2 years as his prepper at a custom paint shop. He meant allot to me and I don't have a day that goes by that I don't think of him. I miss my friend very much.
Beautiful work! Having access to real automotive paint makes the process easier but the real key to something like this is the initial prep. Without it, the risk of tape pulling up underlaying colors very high. In addition, you have to use high quality materials. Don't skimp and use cheap tape! If you plan on doing some taping over a clear coat, your best bet is to use a catalyzed clear, meaning it needs a hardener to dry. Then follow the directions to when it is safe to remask. It can be done without automotive paints, but it takes longer for the clears to fully cure.
I watch your videos all the time you have some great techniques. Here is a tip I developed on vinyl tops. I lay the styrene strips first, then I decant primer. I use those home depot foam paint sticks (remove the stick) cut into smaller pieces. Then dab the primer on. The pointed edge on them gives you control to go right up to the trim without hitting it . Then I paint it. It gives a very real scale looking texture . I have also been successful in using the foam they stuff seats with. it's a little finer closer texture but it works great. I use the testors primer as it stays wet long enough to work in the texture till it starts to get tacky . Let it dry, and paint. I never thought texture paint looked scale. Thanks for your videos.
That car turned out freaking awesome... Now, dull coat the wheels to give it that aluminum look, slap a "JEG'S" logo on the door and the bonnet and you will have Jegg Coughlin's pro stock dragster... Amazing final product...
Hey luka, do you have a link to the original post where he shared this by any chance? Great video by the way! Tutorials like this are really helpful! Thanks bud.

Ultra Sharp Clean and even looking kit. NICE
I started masking race car schemes instead of using kit decals. Mr Bennett makes it look so much easier than it is. Thank you for sharing this!

Mr Bennett made it look so simple. I struggle w/a simple [& I do mean SIMPLE] 2 tone paint job!!
Absolutely stunning work, I'm in total awe. The background music was smokin' also.
Mind blowing bro
Straight up BBAAADD AAASSS !! Thanks For Sharing Luka Cee, God Bless.
Love the music thanks showing us this work and how it was done
Thanks Luka, I've been trying to work this process out and was failing miserable. Dig the pointers I've learned from you and some others.
Very sick! \m/ I’d thought about trying thinned-down 1-Shot lettering enamel and now seeing that he used House of Kolor I may try it too. Great video.
Very nice, Luka. Man, I miss his genius. 🥺
Amazing work thank you for shearing
Excellent video ! Frank's talent is awesome. I definitely need more practice....lots and lots of practice. LOL

Amazing.
👍 👍 👍 👍 👍
I just love it when these True Artists end the demo by saying "this is quite easy" HA! NOT!
It is easy. The hard part is doing it right, so it comes out looking like that!
Oh by the way could you do a video on how to fix glass that has been scratched?? Would be helpful for those of us who have always wondered? thanks
Freaking AWESOME
Remarkable...but way way beyond my pay grade!
Just give it a try. You might surprise yourself.
Nice video. Boy you are up late tonight.
Sorry about your friend.
Last time I tried something that meticulous. It ended up in a bucket of degreaser.
Sounds like steve vai playing guitar.
Are these cars metal or plastic
Plastic
What primer are you using
Who’s jammin in the background???
