Very informative video Brian. Looks good so far. You are right, when spraying silver or gold you need to shoot twice the distance to help bust up the flake. Using a higher air pressure helps too. Thanks for sharing. Have a great week. Senior
That was a very informative video that I found especially helpful since I'm learning how to use Createx paints. I just got my airbrush and compressor working the way I wanted it too and now to get to spraying some paint. Thank you for sharing this. I'll be keeping this video handy!
Yeah I’ve seen your work with createx and you do great work with it. Being I was using a sealer candy mix it’s probably not a good idea to use the 4030 or 4050 because I would have been mixing different types of bounders.
@Got Fuels Model Car Garage Hay make I video of this stuff you seam very much like you know what your doing! I personally mix all Acrylics Vallejo and Createx well most. I found out that Vallejo likes Createx border it made flat black scratch proof ,primer was Tamya , I thinking Mr Surface is better from my experiments for holding power of paint and plastic. Any thoughts?
I know the createx borders ei 4030 4050 can be used with any water base acrylics including craft paints. As far as primers go I don’t use them with createx paints because they don’t bond well. I do however use a multiple numbers of primers including 2 part automotive and automotive single stage acrylic lacquers just depends on how I’m feeling. My favorites are the 2 part automotive and mr surfacer 1500. I used mr color leveling thinner 1.1 with mr surfacer and the acrylic lacquer but it needs more than 1.1.
If you let your Reducer set covered for 15 minutes, that gives the 4011 time to break down the paint .that comes from the man that owns Createx colors Dennis and spray very light coats the first couple coats. And stay away from Alcohol when using createx products and mission models it will give you lots of problems I use a airbrush just for this paint and other Air brushes ..it's awesome paint Especially the gloss topcoat and the Matt. You can mix it with your paint instead of using the Blancing clear I always use it with car models. Also if you live in a hot climate you can add a couple drops of 4020 reducer it will help a lot with hot climates. I'm a full time model builder I spray lots of this paint.
Yeah thanks. I do try and stay up to date everything Createx. I’ve done many paint jobs using there products. I have what I call a createx paint center and have almost all of there original wicked line of paints including most of the new metallic line. I also did mention after mix they needed to set and I was getting the both setup while they were sitting. I do have the 4050-51-52-53 additives and really just use them as a top coat on stuff I’ve rechromed. I personally prefer automotive 2K on my body paint jobs.
Lots of good info in this video! Thank you! I have just bought a bunch of Createx Candy color and i will try to paint a little with it this weekend is my plan
Amazing! I sure wish I could paint with Createx and Wicked paints like that but I just can’t get it right. If I could that would probably be all I’d use.
Best thing I can tell you is don’t try custom mixing until you get painting the standard paint down. What do I mean. It’s recommended throughout the entire paint line is to add 10% of the 4030 or 4050 and 10% reducer with a .5 needle nozzle at 30psi. That is something that works great for myself. Custom mixing with sealers and candies are a completely different thing. So try just using regular, metallics, & pearls before mixing in and using candies. If you’re going to use sealers they need 15-20% reducer for and airbrush. Any questions please reach out to me I’ll help you all I can even if we need to exchange numbers. Good luck
@@FuelsModels thank you so much. I greatly appreciate this. I love the paints when I see them on the models of people who know how to use it. I will be trying it tonight.
Looks beautiful so far. I figured out what I want to do with the corvette. Gold base with createx 5313 pearl lime. Question, which reducer should I use? 4011, 4012 or 4013. Or something different. Have a peaceful week.🌲
Thanks Johnny. I can’t give you any advice on the 4013 but would definitely not use 4012 in any candy or pearls. I link a video in the description I did several months ago on basic mixing with createx.
@@FuelsModels Hey Brian, I searched up that video after this video. I think I have it fingered out. 1 part paint,10% 4011 & 10% 4030. Maybe 15% of those two. Will give it a shot. Thank you,. John 🌲
Createx does bond well with primer. The objective in using the sealer is color keying your color. That way instead of using 4-5 coats of more pricey paint when it’s color keyed you need less paint. And paint is more expensive than sealer.
Hi Bri, Alright Fella, I'm ready to spray a Pearl Copper. I'm gonna mix it 2.ml at time, w/ 10% 4011 Reducer. 2ml is 40 drops 10% of 40 is 4 drops Reducer. So my question is....I make my own Airbrush Cleaner, Windex, Distilled Water, Alcohol and 10 drops Glycerin, can I get away with using this to Clean Gun from Createx and Reducer? Sorry I was a bit winded is this. LOL, Thanks Brian, Appreciate the Help. I'll put these questions to ya 1 at a time as I use Different Createx paints, e.g. Wicked Colors and Candy Colors
Nice. Yes you can use that mix as a cleaner that being said I’ve heard the alcohol in window cleaner is wood based alcohol as over time is bad for the chrome on an airbrush. I’m still using it myself and as soon as I’m out of window cleaner I’ll be switching to distilled water and rubbing alcohol only.
Man, I've looked everywhere for Createx Candy2O Carbine Blue and this color just doesn't exist! I think maybe you're mistaken and the color you're using is Candy2O Candy Caribe Blue, isn't it?
That half my problem with createx it is dam science project every time you want to use it then every 6 months to a year there changing the additives for there paint
@FuelsModels I just watched the Createx videos with Chris and he recommends mixing what you will use, and if you do store it, use it within a week or so.
Great video sir, Love the color, it turned out great I think. Keep up the great work my friend, Thanks for sharing.

Question, wouldn't priming the car 1st give you a plain canvas to work with so that the blue pops ?
Createx does bond well with primer. The objective in using the sealer is color keying your color. That way instead of using 4-5 coats of more pricey paint when it’s color keyed you need less paint. And paint is more expensive than sealer.

What kind of stand is that that holds the body of the car? I need to get one of those to paint model cars

You may have to excuse my southern accent but you’re correct it’s Caribe Blue #4657
That half my problem with createx it is dam science project every time you want to use it then every 6 months to a year there changing the additives for there paint
Lol. They not changing it that often
@@FuelsModels seems like every two years they are changing something
looks like alot of work
It is worth it in the end Leon.
It would only make sense if Createx would make airbrush ready paint with out all the measuring and extra crap you have to do to get it ready. Duh!!
You can use it directly from the bottle. The additives like 4030 & 4050 promoted adhesion to hard surfaces.
Doing that would reduce shelf life dramatically.
That’s why you mix it then use it but createx does say if mixed as long as it’s stored properly it doesn’t reduce shelf life.
@FuelsModels I just watched the Createx videos with Chris and he recommends mixing what you will use, and if you do store it, use it within a week or so.
