Midi CC is still more of a hassle than it's worth most of the time, but this is a great proof of concept. I love the OT more and more the longer I have it.
Thanks! It certainly can be a hassle to set up. But saving templates like this after doing the hard work makes it worth it. Also using the learn function would have made the process quicker but a lot of the funtions were buried and didn't have knobs on the TR-09, which I now have instant access to!
Thank you for putting in all that work! I always thought the sequencer of the TR is more on point, or, say "groovy", instead of sending midi trigs to the TR with the OT. Is this a latency thing?
Definitely have not experienced any latency and you certainly need to have swing turned on on the OT for any kind of groove. However that being said I think the TR(likely) has its own special grove and swing and also features like flam that you cannot do sequencing externally. Thanks for bringing it up. You make me want to explore and spend some time with the TR-09 sequencer
@@_justin_joe Thanks for the reply. I really like the TR in combo with the OT. Do you have any hints for gainstaging? Like, the pure output of the TR are not really the same audio via a thru - there must be some mixer, gain etc. configurations that should be considered. It's definitely a deep dive ;)
