Thank you! My truck v6 engine bay set on fire this week. Gonna gut out & put a big block in. Stoked on these results so I can do my body work @ home then take to a painter. Also good to hear Eastwood has a solid reputation for their products. I did not know this.
Hey man. thanks for the review. i actually just started using this system on my 84 buick regal. couple of notes. first, the instructions say to "activate" the roller by rolling it out a few times on some painting paper to get the paint soaked in. that would avoid the bubbles situation. Also, the ultimate system costs $649 bucks. they also recommend 2 coats of epoxy, then filler, then 2 more coats with block sanding in between. follow all that up with 2-3 coats of high build and block from 220, 320, then finally 400. I really like the system so far. will see how the final paint job comes out
hmm. Very interesing. I've been looking at the ppg cre-123 two part sandable expoxy primer for sealing bare metal for a restoration project but roll on is very appealing. Is the Eastwood product sandable? Can you get the bugs, lint, dust out before putting down 2k or high build? Good tip on loading up the roller fully in advance.
Always use the title to the body on top (the body you see) for legal reasons if you go off the chassis title it can get sticky, so it’s best to always title as the old car/truck on top.
Never sprayed the feather fill, but compared to other high builds I’ve sprayed it lays out the exact same. It easier to get in on heavy too, if you have lots of imperfections. (If that makes any sense)
ah got the 69th like, nice. i like the fact that there was no bullshit in your review. i mean it shows on your face how surprised you were about the result, keep up the good work!
Ty! And nice on the like number. Like i said in the vid, they don’t pay my bills so i have ZERO issues saying i don’t like something but i didn’t have one issue with anything in this kit.
I’m here from TikTok HI 🙋🏻♂️ can you recommend a spray can primer I can use on a 60’a classic American? (Not going to a gloss finish just a spray can matt finish)
Thanks for subscribing! Spray can primer is tricky, but the nicest I’ve seen is Eastwood’s spray primer that i used in this video. It sands very well and covers great. The rustoleum turbo can i used in my TikTok is good for coverage and looks. It sprays out such a large fan that it doesn’t leave stripes like other spray paints do
Nope that first coat is a sealer, it seals the metal off from moisture. The only places it got sanded off was high spots in the metal, in which case it gets sealed again with the primer.
Basic primer kit is $299.99 im looking at the website right now. That also comes with everything you need, if you just bought the primer and hardner its the same price as sprayable primer…
Why do men not follow directions?? Lol.. this stuff rocks but if your gonna do a review for Christ sakes do it right. And if you don’t want to read, watch their videos… if you liked it doing it wrong you’d love it when done right
That's a lot of Eastwood cans, that would probably blow the 1000.00 budget for sure?
If i used them all, it would be $350 bucks. I used around 10 percent, which will be added to the budget.
I know they good products, they hooked you up with the sandpaper!
On the Eastwood website it's listed for $599 no way

Have never tried that but figure since it's Eastwood it's got to be quality stuff. Love your channel, always look forward to new videos!
Thank you! I knew if they had their name on it that it wouldn’t be junk, i still wasn’t sure how it would look though. I’m happy to be surprised

Yea i learned all that after. I didn’t read the instructions lol
Cool. Lookin Good. Excited to see how you blend that paint.
I’m doing it right now so the vid should be next week !

I literally will never paint a car, and I watched every second of this video 😂
Shit you can if you need to now lol
You thinkin problem spots you could actually use a brush or small brush?
I would almost like the whole truck in that Grey. But I also think the battleship grey is getting played out. But I do really like it alot.
Nah, i hate that look for this one
Can't wait for the painting video. Looking good. It's snowing again in Wyoming. Lol
Ty! Keep that snow up there we don’t want any
@@CaseysCustoms we would send you a bunch but it melts before getting there
@@robertarmstrong6172 lol
Have you finished welding inside the door apertures ? .hows the ECU
Everything on the doors is welded, haven’t tried the ecu yet. Hopefully tonight or tomorrow i will plug it in
Primer parts came out pretty well 👌
Ty! I thought so too
What's up wondering if you are using the title for the truck or car or do you have to have both . Thanks

Yay first you know Eastwood has a quality product so if they came up with a roll on product it's going to be good
That was my thinking as well, it still seemed weird to roll on primer to me though. Lol. I’m definitely used to it now
Awesome channel, keep up the good work!
How does it compare with eastwood feather fill out of the gun?
Never sprayed the feather fill, but compared to other high builds I’ve sprayed it lays out the exact same. It easier to get in on heavy too, if you have lots of imperfections. (If that makes any sense)
When I'm ready to paint inside new garage I'll give you a call 😝👍
Hmmm lol
Casey... Do you know if this can be tinted?
I do not know, i don’t see any reason why you couldn’t, but i would prolly ask Eastwood first before trying

looks so good 👍🏽☺
Thank you very much!
Nice! Videos brotha great work🤙🪓 aloha🏄♂️ from northern California..
Thank you very much!
Painted bare metal with primer only to sand most of it off back to bare metal?
Nope that first coat is a sealer, it seals the metal off from moisture. The only places it got sanded off was high spots in the metal, in which case it gets sealed again with the primer.
What kind of truck is that? It's badass!
1955 Ford f100 👍👍
Make a V with some tape and pour through the V it is much cleaner.
If Eastwood let you try it, do not add it to the cost of your build. Do not forget, without the Clint, there would not be an Eastwood! LOL!
😂😂😂 nah, i said at the beginning of this build there would be no freebies. I hate when guys do that, i will add whatever i used to the budget.
👍
Hi
That whole kit you used was only $299 am I looking at the right kit my guy.
Yep! I have extra spray cans and tape, but the kit comes with more then enough stuff. You won’t need any extra
Third comment :)
Well done 👑
I'm good right? Oh MATH. Oh I'm good. LOL
I don't see any advantage to Rolling On primer and the cost almost $600 it's ridiculous
