  • Sorry folks but your friend Bradley here screwed up and accidentally uploaded the first roll on primer video while I was still working out some editing elements....oops...my bad! I started to just leave it, however, it was really, really bad so had to pull it and finish editing. Big apologies to the few of you that suffered through it...lol. Life gets crazy, brain gets jumbled. Hey, it happens once in awhile. 🤘👍
    In this longwinded video I'll demonstrate how an absolute bafoon navigates his way through a TH-cam video and applying Eastwood's Roll On Primer system (not paid or endorsed by Eastwood...spent my own cold hard cash on this kit). This is NOT a "how to" video but more of an opinion of this kit by an average idiot and that's all. Make no bones about it folks, it's an incredible amount of work to prep your car for this kit. However, it's always wise to ensure that your bare metal areas and multiple layers (if you have them) are encompassed under some protection from the elements which I feel a good layer of Epoxy Primer (really it's a sealer 👍) will do. After the release of this video I will still have to spray the car with a guide coat, sand everything to reveal any low spots, fill said low spots with glazing putty, and then reapply another 2-3 coats of Epoxy Primer (really it's a sealer 👍) before it will be ready for ACTUAL urethane primer. I will most likely take a break before the first sanding process so I can rebuild the engine, transmission, and suspension because I need all those components out of the way in order to finish painting/restoring the frame and core support areas. Stay tuned as those videos will be most interesting indeed.

    I used this kit for my 73 nova. After the first round of primer/sealer I’m now doing body work. But really made myself work harder listening to Eastwood about covering the whole car in guide coat lol. After the major spots I’m hitting the whole car with a 7 inch sander.

    good job buddy, very helpful video and thankyou for your time to show us what this product is all about. I will definitely be buying this product, not because is bad quality but its too pricy for me, at this moment i am fixing my E250 ford work van myself and fixing rust ,dents and more plus a full paint job. I found a 2k primer from my local automotive paint shop for less than 80 bucks a gallon that i had to use a spray gun with a 1.4 tip nozzle and covered entire van with 2 full wet coats and its high built as well, it seems to work really good and quick dry/cure time, now getting ready to block sand with 220grit with guide coat to look for any imperfections and one more coat after that to get it ready for base coat. With base coat included im looking at less than $300 bucks so to me its more economical and decent quality. thought this info might help some viewers so they do there research..

      Thank you Marco for the wonderful information! I agree that this product is very pricey and while it certainly has it's place in the automotive paint world, I might choose a cheaper option next time as well. I appreciate you checking out one of my little videos, and thanks again for the awesome comment...cheers!! 👍🤘🤘👍

    That kit is really neat, looks like it flowed out pretty well. Seems like a great option for working in an attached garage. I know when I spray SPI, that the garage will hold that smell for days and that's definitely something you don't want in the house. You will have to let us know how it sands.

    • @bradleysbuildingjunk6763
      @bradleysbuildingjunk6763  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Russ!!! Wow...thanks for watching man! I know it must make you cringe to see some of my garage work....lol, but I'm enjoying myself just the same and hope the viewing audience is as well. This stuff really really does flow out rather nicely. After initially "slopping" it on, just rolling back over the panel with no pressure at all really levels this stuff off and gets rid of all the roller lines. The smell from the 2K spray cans in the jams did indeed leave a little smell inside the house for a couple of days so could only imagine what it would have been like if I used my compressor and sprayed. 1 gallon appears to be just enough to get an entire 2nd gen under about 4 coats. I will get it again in the future for sure. Really appreciate you tuning in to my scatter brained little world 👍👍🤘

      Hey thanks a ton for the sub and the view my friend!! I agree with you totally in that the kit just flat out works great for what it was developed to do. Although it's very expensive, sometimes paying a little extra can save a ton of stress. I am curious about the sanding aspects of it so can't wait to get into all of that but all in all I will most likely buy this kit again for another project that I have on the horizon. 👍🤘👍🤘

    I am using Eastwood roll-on primer on my car, but I chose to just use the high build primer.It laid down pretty well, but not perfect.That's okay because I know it's going to be sanded, and this is going to be a driver.I don't have a garage, just a tent shelter, but at least it's all one color now,lol. You did a right good job on your Camaro! Get 'er done!

Oh, and I really do appreciate the kind words of encouragement. 👍

    I know this is old, but you can get pigments for epoxy. I've used it on fiberglass hand layups as a final coat. You would be limited because of the base grey color, but I wonder if what it would look like with just the "primer" with pigment.

      I love it! This stuff cured hard as a rock as well. I'm for sure going to buy this kit again for future projects just because of how easy it was for me to use. Sweet! I bet if feels pretty good to see it all in one color. Looks like it turned out pretty nice and I bet that stuff is layered on pretty thick since it’s rolled on, which will help during sanding. Good work bud, looking forward to the next one 🤘

    • @bradleysbuildingjunk6763
      @bradleysbuildingjunk6763  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It really is pretty thick once you get that second layer going for sure. I still have to sand, fill, and do 2 more layers as well so it should be a great base to lay some Urethane Primer on top of I think. I'm taking a break before doing the final sanding and last top coats so I can finish up on the core support and frame areas. Figure I could just sand any overspray from the frame and core support off the Epoxy before laying out the last 2 final coats. It's coming along nicely and I'm SUPER excited!!!

      Just be mindful of the fact that there is absolutely no way to roll this stuff on without some texture. At least not that I've found so far. Having said that, it is a nightmare to sand that top layer of texture off. I think this kit is great for the hobbyist who plans to take a few years working on other aspects of the vehicle before paint. It protects great, but it's expensive and labor intensive from start to finish. Thanks for the view, and the fantastic comment....cheers 👍🤘👍🤘

    If you add in the cost of a spray gun, compressor capable of spraying paint at the appropriate cfm and the overspray issues I think this may be the way to go to safe a boat load of money. Body and paint shops are outrageously expensive. I too like the idea of working at my own pace and doing the bodywork myself to save money. Great video👍

      Yep. I got about the same quotes from local body shops as well. It certainly is a ton of work and worth the price for great, professional quality paint and bodywork. However, I agree with you, which is why I'm enduring all this labor myself because I've worked out a deal with a great paint shop here that will top coat my work for half the cost. It will still be a professional quality job but not absolutely a perfect paint job for a reduced price. I really appreciate your views my friend!! Cheers!!
