The monologue where Matt explains how he became daredevil (hunting the man who was abusing his daughter) is one of my favourites in the season. It’s such a good scene
Ugh, just thinking about that story of the father sexually abusing his daughter sends chills down my spine and completely immerses the viewer into Matt's mission and why it's important he does what he does.
I love the idea that Matt can't not do anything. I think most of us in life live in blissful ignorance, a lot of the time if an issue isn't directly in our face we tend to ignore it or downplay it because that's just easier for us. Matt can't exist without hearing the danger, death and destruction in his city and he can't live without doing anything about it. I think that's what Foggy doesn't understand.
8:44 Father Lantom truly was one of the bests. He had the best quotes in the show. Every human should have a person like him in their life. He can even turn a non-believer into a believer in a very polite and gentle way if that person stay with him for a few days.
His monologues and pieces of advice were legitimately helpful to me in real life and got me reflecting a lot lol. One of the most underrated characters in the show by far imo!
I really love season 3 episode 4, the prison scene is the most engaging fight scene in the entire series if you ask me, and Matt going around without his glasses, no longer having to fain blindness, giving up on his normal life is so compelling. Another great prison fight is the one with Punisher in season 2, absolutely viceral. Generally the start of season 2 is great, the beginning and end of season 1 is perfect and most of season 3 is danm near perfection
Completely agree! I watched that prison scene probably over 20 times in total, it's one of the most thrilling fight scenes I've ever seen to be honest. The prison scene with Punisher was great too! Really got me a bit squeamish with how violent it was, which is really rare for me. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Instead of Mourning about him he tried searching for another Father Figure.Even his Second father figure "Stick" Left Him. Somehow He still remain unbroken and moved on )
OOo yes! 3x09 is great and I love all the conversations Matt has with his Dad (real or not). They feel very real and personal which adds a lot of depth to Matt. Good choices of episodes, man! :D

Karen was horrible! Directly responsible for Ben Urichs death instead of telling the man she was abducted by Wesley about fisk mom, she tells him they MAY know! When ben doubles down and ask how? She says its just a feeling? Man i was pissed! Then again she imo gave the biggest shot telling fisk she killed wesley in season 3! Now that was a great episode!
Oh, for sure! The scene where Karen tells Fisk that she killed Wesley was completely riveting. Really felt like Fisk was gonna snap any second. And yeah, Karen may have been a bit responsible for Ben, but her character is supposed to be deeply flawed and I think she's grown a lot, especially by the end of season 3.
For me, the best episode was when Foggy found out about Matt. Foggy's sense of betrayal, Matt's contrition and brutal honesty, the painful realization that they've lost their friendship was heartbreaking.
I like how Foggy didn't find out and was automatically cool with it. Almost every hero in the MCU has their loved ones find out and they fully support it, but this is nice
Season 3 Episode 8 is certainly up there for me. Karen speaking to Fisk and the Maggie reveal are both unreal moments, the tension in Karen telling Fisk she killed wesley is just mental
maaan what about upstairs/downstairs??? literally that whole episode was PERFECT, particularly when Karen confronted Fisk... so nice to see someone who isn't the main character have such ballsy moments
Ah, I see you are a person of taste as well 🤌 Season 2 episodes 1-4 is my favorite story arc, and Penny and Dime definitely takes the cake for me for lots of reasons, but that monologue alone would put it at the top. I really admire both DD and the Punisher show for never actually showing the grisly flashback of the Castle family massacre, because it feels a lot more realistic and the fact that Frank focuses mostly on the happy memory of him returning only to use only a couple sentences to describe the massacre is really heavy in its own way Also, that convention clip you put in reminded me of one of my favorite behind the scenes trivia on season 2. While filming the fight scenes, Charlie noticed that they were giving Jon Bernthal way more fake blood to hold in his mouth to then spit out than they were giving him. So he goes up to Jon like, "Hey, why are they giving you so much fake blood?" and Jon just answers, "Oh I love this stuff" (apparently it tastes sweet). So Charlie's like, "Hey, I want more fake blood, give me some," and eventually, the director had to stop them because during the fight scenes they were just spitting out like, half their blood volume I'd be hard-pressed finding DD episodes that aren't top 10 worthy for one reason or another (with perhaps some latter half of season 2 episodes, because the Hand and Elektra arcs definitely were.... something). Personally, I'd have put Nelson v. Murdock in my top three, but that's because the "best damn avocados" scene makes me just so happy and I also simultaneously love angst, so that episode's just a feast for me 😆 I do totally agree with you about missing the more noir-style cinematography that the first two seasons had going. The first episode of season 3 had some excellent shots in the church, but no other shots really stand out in my mind. Another thing that I really wished they explored more in season 3 is Matt's violent side - at least, to the extent that season 1 did. Like, in season 1, you have the russian interrogation in episode 2, matt threatening to stab that guys throat in episode 3, matt interrogating the junkie who killed Mrs. Cardenas - I feel like that darker aspect of matt isn't shown as much in season 3 when they could've done so. Anyway, I'm subscribed to youtubers who put out hour long video essays on the reg, so honestly I didn't even blink when I saw the timestamp for this video. You could definitely do longer videos!

The flashbacks are so charming and "the best damn avacados" always makes me smile aha. There's just too many amazing episodes 😭 I hope that if there's a season 4, that those harder noir styles return, but I kinda doubt it. I mean season 3 is still beautifully shot but I do miss it 😭 I think Matt was still pretty violent tho in season 3. Like, I remember he would occasionally go to far in beating people or if he was interrogating someone. Not nearly as rough as the first two seasons tho :P But thanks for the feedback! One I'm surprised you didn't mention was season 3 episode 9, the reveal that Fisk already had complete control over the FBI as Nadeem gets framed for murdering his superior. And it's also the first time Fisk gets referred to as Kingpin. It had some fantastic moments.
That rain scene at the end of S2E4 (Penny and Dime) was just absolutely beautiful. The colors, the calming atmosphere after a violent climax, John Paesano's Raindrops score. I am eternally grateful for this scene's existence.
Resurrection is one of if not my favorite episodes. It proves why Daredevil is so amazing. It doesn't need flashy action. It just lets the characters be themselves. It has lasting consequences, and it never throws Matt a bone. If he's going to win, he's going to fight tooth and bloodied nail to get there. The fact that Matt has a bit of a high moment and the show makes you think hey things are going to be okay! Only for him to attempt suicide in a christ-like pose is one of the most beautifully heartbreaking moments in the series
Very well said! It was a really special episode to me too, because it wasn't afraid to show the main hero in such a poor light. It set the tone perfectly to make the viewer never know if he would ever recover back to his peak form. Glad you loved it too :D
A New Napkin was one of if not the show's greatest episode. I'd put it way higher than 10. I actually disagree about the season one finale, I thought it was slightly underwhelming, even though the episode itself was amazing. It just didn't feel like it was as intense as the buildup to it, especially when I thought DD got to Hoffman too easily. I would've liked something more like the sequence where DD tries to get Nadeem to City Hall. Anyway, this was the first time I felt like a finale completely paid off everything about the season and more. The three way battle was of course, epic, Charlie Cox gives his best performance in the whole show, and, something about Matt, Foggy, and Karen sitting around that table at the butcher shop, talking about "Nelson, Murdock, and Page" just hit me in the feels.
Yeah, I totally agree that "A New Napkin" was a fantastic episode! I would say that it's as low as it is because I think the season's build-up was just too good, that whatever the finale was, was just not gonna live up to it for me. Still, a fantastic episode, but something about it to me was still slightly underwhelming. I do love that final fight and the "Nelson, Murdock, and Page" scenes though. It really felt like a satisfying conclusion based on what happened the rest of the season.

I've only seen season 1 but my fav is Nelson v Murdock, showing flashbacks to show how Matt and Foggy grew close, in contrast to how they are growing apart in present day
That final confrontation between Matt and Fisk was extremely intense and very satisfying. The characters really learned and grew a lot by the end, and the speech with Matt and the new napkin scene was just so perfect.
There are no bad episodes. The episode with Matt and Foggy, where Foggy has learned Matt's secret is one of my favorites. The final episode of season 3 is also a highlight. I can't choose a favorite because I love all 3 seasons. This is easily one of my favorite shows ever to hit the television.

Fr! Daredevil. writers were so good in just making you so engaged from just the dialogue and people talking. Normally a lot of exciting moments are from the action, but Daredevil shows that even the quieter moments can be more eventful.

@@Machuw yeah it was great with Punisher and Fisk in prison with the amazing prison fight scene, but there is also Matt investigating into the Yakuza this episode, but Nobu also returns in this episode if I’m correct. Nelson V. Murdock on the other hand I do still enjoy, like the flashbacks, but then Foggy can be kind of annoying at times in the episode in my opinion. GREAT VIDEO 👍 :)

I watched that, too, and really liked it. Had to giggle at some reviewer complaining it was an “Americanized” remake of an older show. It is but it was definitely NOT Americanized. Updated maybe. Certainly not enough violence & sex & whatnot for what American audiences are used to.
Great video. One small thing tho. The Punishers family wasn't killed in his house. They were killed in a park they go to the day after frank gets home from the military. This shown in much more depth in the punisher show but very apparent in daredevil season 2. Idk what happened there in the script
It is crazy how none of the storylines regarding the Hand or Stick or Elektra made the cut, nor even honorable mentions. They weren’t bad, but DAMN was the conflict of DD vs Kingpin, DD vs Punisher and DD vs Matt Murdock was just that good. I totally agree with this list.
Yeah, exactly! I still really enjoy the back half of season 2. Personally, I think it's very underrated, but I just cannot put it above any of the others in the list because they're just that good.
My favourite episode (haven't seen season 3) is S2E13 because that fight with the Hand. Oof. And then Elektra dies. Damn. The way that Matt and Elektra have to go up the building after saving a bus full of people (I love the Turk cameo) is epic. They know the odds of survival are basically 0, but they decide to live in the moment. And the way Matt goes on a rage-fueled murder mission against Nobu after he kills Elektra, with Stick finishing it, damn.
I love how you compare Daredevil to the Arrowverse shows. The Arrowverse has its charm but it is so much missed potential, especially considering some of the actors they have. Daredevil is why all superhero shows could and should be

@@Machuw Yes. My favorite episode is probably The Devil You Know mainly due to how excellent it sets up the second half of season 3 for everyone. I actually had to do a presentation on a show for my ela class a few months ago and I chose Daredevil and i really wanted to share more clips from that episode due to how freaking perfect it is for Me. I love Karen and Matt struggling to reunite while also going through their personal struggles, I love how dex is slipping closer to suicide only to have Fisk 'save' his life, love foggy and nadeem slowly growing closer to understanding each other while still having a rough time with each other and while I love all that, the ending fight scene. Just. That. Fight. Scene. I could write at least a 10 page paper on how excellent of a Fight scene that is and how it hooked me in to just wanting to get through every episode in a heartbeat just to see how season 3's second half would pay off that moment. Honestly, I love every episode from the show but dang, that episode is just basically perfect to me.

My top episode will always be the season 3 finale. It ties in so many of the stories and the choreograph is absolutely beautiful. It shows how dark Matt can be when he unleashes his rage and what he's willing to do. The fighting trio moment shows how Dex wants Fisk to suffer as revenge and Matt wants Fisk to die to free the city from his poisoning. In my opinion, the best scene in marvel is the moment you can see Matt choosing to let Fisk live and let's out his primal scream. And then, Matt elevates his voice even more when he yells at Fisk, "YOU DON'T GET TO DESTROY WHO I AM !" Not even to mention the "the real daredevil" moment. I just think it is the best part (movie, scene, acting, episode, or even scene for that matter) of marvel as a whole. And just thought I should add how perfectly Charlie Cox portrays Mathew Merrdock
With all the shit season 2 gets, it’s the season with the best episode I know I’m in a minority but season 2 is my favorite season. I also feel like people were looking for problems. and alot of the stuff people say about season two is actually really cool moments and Easter eggs that I think are seen wrong. But I also really wish the Nobu storyline would have been flushed out. It’s not like like they didn’t have the time
I recently rewatched Season 2 of Daredevil, and while it's still my least favorite, it's still an extraordinary season. All the stuff with Elektra and the Hand gets a bit overheated imo, and I think it's all mostly well done. I agree with you about Nobu though, he was really done dirty ;-;
I'm showing my little brother this show, bit by bit, it's sometimes hard to keep him focused and off of tiktok during the "boring talking scenes", but other than him being a butt, I think we're really connecting over this. He understands why I love Daredevil as a character and agrees that this show does him JUSTICE and is extremely underrated, this is a very comfortable video to watch, thanks for making and sharing it 😘🤙

There is a conversation on Y tube between Stephen DeKnight and Eric Olsen re season 4. Eric would have been the showrunner and he wasn't planning on bringing back Poindexter back for season 4. He was planning on introducing Owsleys' son The Owl I guess and Typhoid Mary. He was planning on bringing Dex back in Season 5. They had planned that far ahead before finding out they were cancelled.

Yeah, fair enough! It's a personal favorite of mine because of how creative and personal it all felt. The scenes with Matt and his Father and the hallway stuff are just peak Daredevil to me to me tbh, but there's so many fantastic episodes that I feel like everyone's list would vary!
What you said about arrow is just not true because we see dig hiding being hurt or at least how hurt he really was from the frags stuck inside his arm and him and oliver end up fighting because of it other than that i love this video
I'm glad I'm not the only one that would put Episode 6 of S1 in the top ten. I loved how it played out and that basically 2 mortal enemies ended up working together towards a common goal. Vladimir did redeem himself (at least a bit) and that walkie talkie conversation between Matt and Fisk gave me goosebumps. So well done.
Yeah, I started to feel left out that nobody else had that episode in their lists so it's cool you really liked it cool! I think it's a fantastic episode with nonstop tension. Glad u liked it!
I think most people can agree that Kinbaku (S2:E5) is the weakest episode of the show. It's still like a 7/10 but it distracts from the way more interesting Punisher plot and after such a strong set of episodes, Kinbaku just can't really reach that level of quality
I actually don't think Kinbaku is all that bad, it's the episode that started off a series of weaker episodes later, but I liked seeing the flashbacks with Matt and Elektra tbh haha. But I agree, even at this series lowest, it's just a 7/10.
@@Machuw It was a nice addition to Matt's backstory, but I just thought that Punisher plotline was way more interesting and there's none of that here, I think. At least later on they do like a 50/50 between the plotlines
22:36 Art can live on independently from its author. It doesn't matter why a drop of liquid runs down Charlie's cheek and it doesn't matter the author did not intend it. It looks like a tear and as the audience you have the right to interpret that as Matt crying. I think it makes the scene more beautiful so that's why I believe Matt sheds a tear to Frank's story in my head cannon.
You are not alone, the noir visuals from the first 2 seasons were awesome. I was reading the Bendis series around that time and you can tell the show was taking visual inspiration from Alex Maleevs art! I love season 3 but the drastic visual changes took some getting used to and I think they would've worked really well with the tone of season 3.
In condemned I found it hilarious how Vlad survived for so long. He survived being beat down on by Matt, getting shot, falls through the floor and so much more. It was a lot for him to survive for so long lol. It’s still a really good episode tho

Daredevil, the show that is incomparable. I've just finished season 3 and oh man, what a journey it's been. From the graphics to the lighting, from the uniqueness to the mood, its more than everything I could have expected. It's so much more unique and darker than the usual marvel series that it just feels like another dimension. Can't wait for the 4th season
I really want to rewatch Daredevil season 3 from start to finish again, because wow, like you said it's a journey! Hopefully Born Again can live up the quality of the first 3 seasons :)
The Final episode should've been titled *"A Deal with the Devil'* Since Matt defeats Fisk by forcing him into an agreement. A deal Fisk wouldn't break because it means Vanessa would suffer because of him
I think your top 3 is my top 3. At first I wanted New York's Finest higher, but that's really because I never watch that without watching Penny and Dime next. That's the show at its most potent, and it only gets better with time :)

If I could sum up how I feel about this whole show it's the dark Knight trilogy of marvel, just in a TV show format. the first season shows the origin and establishes our main villains, almost every side character gets as much depth as the main one from foggy to Karen to even Melvin Poter. Season 2 works like a middle chapter pushing our characters to the very limit and ending on a somber cliffhanger. And season 3 is the rebirth. Challenging matt foggy and Karen's ideals and beliefs to always keep you guessing. Seriously the finale of season 3 I genuinely thought Matt was going to kill Fisk. Of course he didn't but the fact of the show made me feel so much tension is a testament to how good the direction and writing is.

The monologue where Matt explains how he became daredevil (hunting the man who was abusing his daughter) is one of my favourites in the season. It’s such a good scene
Ugh, just thinking about that story of the father sexually abusing his daughter sends chills down my spine and completely immerses the viewer into Matt's mission and why it's important he does what he does.

I love the idea that Matt can't not do anything. I think most of us in life live in blissful ignorance, a lot of the time if an issue isn't directly in our face we tend to ignore it or downplay it because that's just easier for us.
Matt can't exist without hearing the danger, death and destruction in his city and he can't live without doing anything about it. I think that's what Foggy doesn't understand.

I really love season 3 episode 4, the prison scene is the most engaging fight scene in the entire series if you ask me, and Matt going around without his glasses, no longer having to fain blindness, giving up on his normal life is so compelling. Another great prison fight is the one with Punisher in season 2, absolutely viceral. Generally the start of season 2 is great, the beginning and end of season 1 is perfect and most of season 3 is danm near perfection
Completely agree! I watched that prison scene probably over 20 times in total, it's one of the most thrilling fight scenes I've ever seen to be honest. The prison scene with Punisher was great too! Really got me a bit squeamish with how violent it was, which is really rare for me. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

OOo yes! 3x09 is great and I love all the conversations Matt has with his Dad (real or not). They feel very real and personal which adds a lot of depth to Matt. Good choices of episodes, man! :D

Karen was horrible! Directly responsible for Ben Urichs death instead of telling the man she was abducted by Wesley about fisk mom, she tells him they MAY know! When ben doubles down and ask how? She says its just a feeling? Man i was pissed! Then again she imo gave the biggest shot telling fisk she killed wesley in season 3! Now that was a great episode!
Oh, for sure! The scene where Karen tells Fisk that she killed Wesley was completely riveting. Really felt like Fisk was gonna snap any second. And yeah, Karen may have been a bit responsible for Ben, but her character is supposed to be deeply flawed and I think she's grown a lot, especially by the end of season 3.

For me, the best episode was when Foggy found out about Matt. Foggy's sense of betrayal, Matt's contrition and brutal honesty, the painful realization that they've lost their friendship was heartbreaking.

Season 2 episodes 1-4 is my favorite story arc, and Penny and Dime definitely takes the cake for me for lots of reasons, but that monologue alone would put it at the top. I really admire both DD and the Punisher show for never actually showing the grisly flashback of the Castle family massacre, because it feels a lot more realistic and the fact that Frank focuses mostly on the happy memory of him returning only to use only a couple sentences to describe the massacre is really heavy in its own way
Also, that convention clip you put in reminded me of one of my favorite behind the scenes trivia on season 2. While filming the fight scenes, Charlie noticed that they were giving Jon Bernthal way more fake blood to hold in his mouth to then spit out than they were giving him. So he goes up to Jon like, "Hey, why are they giving you so much fake blood?" and Jon just answers, "Oh I love this stuff" (apparently it tastes sweet). So Charlie's like, "Hey, I want more fake blood, give me some," and eventually, the director had to stop them because during the fight scenes they were just spitting out like, half their blood volume
I'd be hard-pressed finding DD episodes that aren't top 10 worthy for one reason or another (with perhaps some latter half of season 2 episodes, because the Hand and Elektra arcs definitely were.... something). Personally, I'd have put Nelson v. Murdock in my top three, but that's because the "best damn avocados" scene makes me just so happy and I also simultaneously love angst, so that episode's just a feast for me 😆
I do totally agree with you about missing the more noir-style cinematography that the first two seasons had going. The first episode of season 3 had some excellent shots in the church, but no other shots really stand out in my mind. Another thing that I really wished they explored more in season 3 is Matt's violent side - at least, to the extent that season 1 did. Like, in season 1, you have the russian interrogation in episode 2, matt threatening to stab that guys throat in episode 3, matt interrogating the junkie who killed Mrs. Cardenas - I feel like that darker aspect of matt isn't shown as much in season 3 when they could've done so.
Anyway, I'm subscribed to youtubers who put out hour long video essays on the reg, so honestly I didn't even blink when I saw the timestamp for this video. You could definitely do longer videos!

I mean season 3 is still beautifully shot but I do miss it 😭 I think Matt was still pretty violent tho in season 3. Like, I remember he would occasionally go to far in beating people or if he was interrogating someone. Not nearly as rough as the first two seasons tho :P

One I'm surprised you didn't mention was season 3 episode 9, the reveal that Fisk already had complete control over the FBI as Nadeem gets framed for murdering his superior. And it's also the first time Fisk gets referred to as Kingpin. It had some fantastic moments.

That rain scene at the end of S2E4 (Penny and Dime) was just absolutely beautiful. The colors, the calming atmosphere after a violent climax, John Paesano's Raindrops score. I am eternally grateful for this scene's existence.

Resurrection is one of if not my favorite episodes. It proves why Daredevil is so amazing. It doesn't need flashy action. It just lets the characters be themselves. It has lasting consequences, and it never throws Matt a bone. If he's going to win, he's going to fight tooth and bloodied nail to get there. The fact that Matt has a bit of a high moment and the show makes you think hey things are going to be okay! Only for him to attempt suicide in a christ-like pose is one of the most beautifully heartbreaking moments in the series
Very well said! It was a really special episode to me too, because it wasn't afraid to show the main hero in such a poor light. It set the tone perfectly to make the viewer never know if he would ever recover back to his peak form. Glad you loved it too :D

A New Napkin was one of if not the show's greatest episode. I'd put it way higher than 10. I actually disagree about the season one finale, I thought it was slightly underwhelming, even though the episode itself was amazing. It just didn't feel like it was as intense as the buildup to it, especially when I thought DD got to Hoffman too easily. I would've liked something more like the sequence where DD tries to get Nadeem to City Hall. Anyway, this was the first time I felt like a finale completely paid off everything about the season and more. The three way battle was of course, epic, Charlie Cox gives his best performance in the whole show, and, something about Matt, Foggy, and Karen sitting around that table at the butcher shop, talking about "Nelson, Murdock, and Page" just hit me in the feels.
Yeah, I totally agree that "A New Napkin" was a fantastic episode! I would say that it's as low as it is because I think the season's build-up was just too good, that whatever the finale was, was just not gonna live up to it for me. Still, a fantastic episode, but something about it to me was still slightly underwhelming. I do love that final fight and the "Nelson, Murdock, and Page" scenes though. It really felt like a satisfying conclusion based on what happened the rest of the season.

For me it had to be S3E13 - A new napkin purely for that final speech Daredevil has with Fisk after he beats the shit out of him. Fuck man, crazy
That final confrontation between Matt and Fisk was extremely intense and very satisfying. The characters really learned and grew a lot by the end, and the speech with Matt and the new napkin scene was just so perfect.
There are no bad episodes. The episode with Matt and Foggy, where Foggy has learned Matt's secret is one of my favorites. The final episode of season 3 is also a highlight. I can't choose a favorite because I love all 3 seasons. This is easily one of my favorite shows ever to hit the television.

@@Machuw yeah it was great with Punisher and Fisk in prison with the amazing prison fight scene, but there is also Matt investigating into the Yakuza this episode, but Nobu also returns in this episode if I’m correct. Nelson V. Murdock on the other hand I do still enjoy, like the flashbacks, but then Foggy can be kind of annoying at times in the episode in my opinion. GREAT VIDEO 👍 :)

show. It is but it was definitely NOT Americanized. Updated maybe. Certainly not enough violence & sex & whatnot for what American audiences are used to.
Great video. One small thing tho. The Punishers family wasn't killed in his house. They were killed in a park they go to the day after frank gets home from the military. This shown in much more depth in the punisher show but very apparent in daredevil season 2. Idk what happened there in the script

It is crazy how none of the storylines regarding the Hand or Stick or Elektra made the cut, nor even honorable mentions. They weren’t bad, but DAMN was the conflict of DD vs Kingpin, DD vs Punisher and DD vs Matt Murdock was just that good. I totally agree with this list.
Yeah, exactly! I still really enjoy the back half of season 2. Personally, I think it's very underrated, but I just cannot put it above any of the others in the list because they're just that good.
My favourite episode (haven't seen season 3) is S2E13 because that fight with the Hand. Oof. And then Elektra dies. Damn. The way that Matt and Elektra have to go up the building after saving a bus full of people (I love the Turk cameo) is epic. They know the odds of survival are basically 0, but they decide to live in the moment. And the way Matt goes on a rage-fueled murder mission against Nobu after he kills Elektra, with Stick finishing it, damn.

@@Machuw Yes. My favorite episode is probably The Devil You Know mainly due to how excellent it sets up the second half of season 3 for everyone. I actually had to do a presentation on a show for my ela class a few months ago and I chose Daredevil and i really wanted to share more clips from that episode due to how freaking perfect it is for Me. I love Karen and Matt struggling to reunite while also going through their personal struggles, I love how dex is slipping closer to suicide only to have Fisk 'save' his life, love foggy and nadeem slowly growing closer to understanding each other while still having a rough time with each other and while I love all that, the ending fight scene. Just. That. Fight. Scene. I could write at least a 10 page paper on how excellent of a Fight scene that is and how it hooked me in to just wanting to get through every episode in a heartbeat just to see how season 3's second half would pay off that moment. Honestly, I love every episode from the show but dang, that episode is just basically perfect to me.

The entirety of season 3s episodes are better than season 1 and two combined excluding penny and dime, because that… that was an episode
My top episode will always be the season 3 finale. It ties in so many of the stories and the choreograph is absolutely beautiful. It shows how dark Matt can be when he unleashes his rage and what he's willing to do. The fighting trio moment shows how Dex wants Fisk to suffer as revenge and Matt wants Fisk to die to free the city from his poisoning. In my opinion, the best scene in marvel is the moment you can see Matt choosing to let Fisk live and let's out his primal scream. And then, Matt elevates his voice even more when he yells at Fisk, "YOU DON'T GET TO DESTROY WHO I AM !" Not even to mention the "the real daredevil" moment.
I just think it is the best part (movie, scene, acting, episode, or even scene for that matter) of marvel as a whole.
And just thought I should add how perfectly Charlie Cox portrays Mathew Merrdock

I recently rewatched Season 2 of Daredevil, and while it's still my least favorite, it's still an extraordinary season. All the stuff with Elektra and the Hand gets a bit overheated imo, and I think it's all mostly well done. I agree with you about Nobu though, he was really done dirty ;-;
I'm showing my little brother this show, bit by bit, it's sometimes hard to keep him focused and off of tiktok during the "boring talking scenes", but other than him being a butt, I think we're really connecting over this. I just wanted to see more of Poindexter. If I had a choice to see either Born again season 1 or Daredevil season 4, I would have chosen season 4.
There is a conversation on Y tube between Stephen DeKnight and Eric Olsen re season 4. Eric would have been the showrunner and he wasn't planning on bringing back Poindexter back for season 4. He was planning on introducing Owsleys' son The Owl I guess and Typhoid Mary. He was planning on bringing Dex back in Season 5. They had planned that far ahead before finding out they were cancelled.

Yeah, fair enough! It's a personal favorite of mine because of how creative and personal it all felt. The scenes with Matt and his Father and the hallway stuff are just peak Daredevil to me to me tbh, but there's so many fantastic episodes that I feel like everyone's list would vary!
From what i remember the season 3 ep 4 or 5 prison fight of Matt was epic. It was a one shot and a long one, it was awsome

That's true! They do have some consequences but undid quite a bit for me personally
I'm glad I'm not the only one that would put Episode 6 of S1 in the top ten. I loved how it played out and that basically 2 mortal enemies ended up working together towards a common goal. Vladimir did redeem himself (at least a bit) and that walkie talkie conversation between Matt and Fisk gave me goosebumps. So well done.
Yeah, I started to feel left out that nobody else had that episode in their lists so it's cool you really liked it cool! I think it's a fantastic episode with nonstop tension. Glad u liked it!
I think most people can agree that Kinbaku (S2:E5) is the weakest episode of the show. It's still like a 7/10 but it distracts from the way more interesting Punisher plot and after such a strong set of episodes, Kinbaku just can't really reach that level of quality
I actually don't think Kinbaku is all that bad, it's the episode that started off a series of weaker episodes later, but I liked seeing the flashbacks with Matt and Elektra tbh haha. But I agree, even at this series lowest, it's just a 7/10.
@@Machuw It was a nice addition to Matt's backstory, but I just thought that Punisher plotline was way more interesting and there's none of that here, I think. At least later on they do like a 50/50 between the plotlines

22:36 Art can live on independently from its author. It doesn't matter why a drop of liquid runs down Charlie's cheek and it doesn't matter the author did not intend it. It looks like a tear and as the audience you have the right to interpret that as Matt crying. I think it makes the scene more beautiful so that's why I believe Matt sheds a tear to Frank's story in my head cannon.
You are not alone, the noir visuals from the first 2 seasons were awesome. I was reading the Bendis series around that time and you can tell the show was taking visual inspiration from Alex Maleevs art! I love season 3 but the drastic visual changes took some getting used to and I think they would've worked really well with the tone of season 3.

In condemned I found it hilarious how Vlad survived for so long. He survived being beat down on by Matt, getting shot, falls through the floor and so much more. It was a lot for him to survive for so long lol. It’s still a really good episode tho

So did I after stopping halfway through season 2, and season 3 has to be my favourite season with how he’s focused on Fisk and bullseye the entire time. The stakes are higher than ever and the whole season is so tense

Actually, it's season 3! S2's first 4 episodes just hit the hardest for me.
Daredevil, the show that is incomparable. I've just finished season 3 and oh man, what a journey it's been. From the graphics to the lighting, from the uniqueness to the mood, its more than everything I could have expected. It's so much more unique and darker than the usual marvel series that it just feels like another dimension. Can't wait for the 4th season
I really want to rewatch Daredevil season 3 from start to finish again, because wow, like you said it's a journey! Hopefully Born Again can live up the quality of the first 3 seasons :)

S03E04 doesn't even make it to Top 10? Really??
If I could sum up how I feel about this whole show it's the dark Knight trilogy of marvel, just in a TV show format. the first season shows the origin and establishes our main villains, almost every side character gets as much depth as the main one from foggy to Karen to even Melvin Poter.
Season 2 works like a middle chapter pushing our characters to the very limit and ending on a somber cliffhanger.
And season 3 is the rebirth. Challenging matt foggy and Karen's ideals and beliefs to always keep you guessing. Seriously the finale of season 3 I genuinely thought Matt was going to kill Fisk. Of course he didn't but the fact of the show made me feel so much tension is a testament to how good the direction and writing is.
