How fast are FTX RC cars ??? The results!!!

- As fast as 60MPH .... how many MPH do you get for your money. You might be surprized by a few of these speeds we certainly were. The FTX range of RC Cars is a great way to get into the hobby. there is something for everyone, whatever your ability or budget.
The 1/12 FTX comet was fantastic and at the other end of the spectrum we had the FTX DR8 6s lipo beast. @TomleyRC has also hit the same sort of speeds with these cars- check him out.
I was surprized at the results for the FTX Vantage FTX Bugsta and FTX Torro or Zorro.
all fantastic cars we mainly focused on Brushed 550 motor cars but we will be exploring the brushless versions soon enough.

Great video guys. You have me very interested in the DR8 , unfortunately I’m having a hard time finding it stateside. I really enjoyed the format you chose for the speedruns
The dr8 is also known as Reely Raptor or FS Racing Atom.

60MPH is harder than it looks and every MPH after that is hard fought.
E=MC2 and all starts getting in the way.
Plus controlling at those speeds gets harder and harder.

My tip is buy the ftx brushless. By the time you get the brushed, deal with the disappointment and upgrade to brushless you may as well save up the extra 60 bucks or what ever the difference is. Cool video btw

The DR8 must be one of the most under rated rc's out there, fast, tough, at a good price for a 6s rig. Have you tried any other tyres on it for off road bashing, perhaps some softer monster truck tyres to give it better fast cornering ability. As i know on the stock wheels it can roll if corners are taken either to fast of to sharp, great vid guy's. Stay safe everyone.

@@PopalongRC Yes i agree with harder tyres for specific speed runs on tarmac to help stop roll & drift. What i was refering to was offroad/grass running where the stock tyres are stiffer & dig in more than monster tyres & seem to tip the car going into corners to fast or to sharply. I have noticed the DR8 does have this tip over tendencies off road when turning at speed on grass for example, where you have to come off the throttle a bit more or take wider turns.
Agree you need to drive this car and adapt style to suit conditions.. it is not forgiving but whe you get it right it is seeeeeeeeeet

Nice vid,like hint of Knight rider music,,lol not bad for torro on nimh battery,,lipo must make it better, dr8 want one,,lol my torro must do at 32 with 3000kv on 2s lipo,,,takes its aswell wicked little trucks them ftx,s including outlaw don,t about their range though am surprised ftx are not up their with the big boys,,as I think with the right ftx rc cars including crawlers set up would leave them standing 🤔
