At 40:00 Ram Dass talks about being separated from his emotional mind/subconscious & viewing that impulse with objectivity. This, to me, indicates his ability to be linked into his unconscious mind, revealing a disconnect from the egos' mental machinations. This is what I experienced after taking a Kundalini workshop in Laguna Beach with Sreven Sadliers SAI=Self Awareness Institute hosted by his guru from India & a kundalini master. Actually it was 3 nights after this class that I experienced the VOID during my meditation-Sept 28 1992, in which I experienced a jet black darkness that after hearing an intense musical tone & was then sucked into a spiral between my eyebrows & was interpenetrated with this glorious VOID finally disconnected from the ego & its mental machinations. This talk covered so many struggles I have gone through in my life journey from republican Christian in childhood, to identifying as an atheist/agnostic in the middle, to finding Alan Watts and Eastern philosophy, to psychedelics and contradictive paradoxes, and walking the middle path of dualities.
Ram Dass went from being a rejected member of his academic fraternity to being on the cutting edge of a newer version of psychology based on his own direct perception,s of consciousness.
Probably because we are not here for that to be our focus even though it causes us stress but maybe we are supposed to just be. I can't understand I feel we all have a right to survival without threats everyday if you can't afford the basic survival prices we are forced to and the money taken for working and money taken daily on necessity and forced survival cost. It feels like abuse

I'd never heard Ram Dass speak until I got Shanghai'd by the violent white state terrorists in Fremont County & spent 25 days in the pokey. It was like being back in Jerzy Rosenberg's architectural history classes or a lecture by Bernard Tschumi or a performance by Karen Finley. I'm still waiting for Harvard to endow the Timothy Leary Chair in Psychonautics and give it to me. 😊 I'd like to open Pandora's Box and become what I become 😊 The case was presenting itself :) Awareness sits behind consciousness & the void lies beyond that.
