      @@andreojala8402 The main argument is whether the mind is the one controlling the brain to command the throat to create voices, or it is the brain that creates the mind so that the mind can then command the brain to command the throat to create a voice. Personally, the first one makes more sense to me...

      @@a.tavakoli Yet every single evidence so far indicates that the brain creates the mind. Great scientist. He misses though important point lining up prayer and telepathy. Because obviously we know that other people exist and telepathy cases may be if true (and indeed in many cases were beyond doubt) verified.
      But prayer wherever you believe in ESPs or not requires God/s to hear it that we can't know that even exists the same way as we are confident that other people or let's say lions in Africa must exist.
      It's politically incorrect but certainly true that Telepathy is far more certain to exist than After Life not the other way as Descartes believed because
      1 Telepathy is useful in Darwinian context -After Life requires God
      2 Unless you are philosophical nonsense like Everett Many Worlds proponents
      Quantum Theory predicts Telepathy given that as multiple Anton Zeilingers EPR experiments has proven Space literally isn't real ( if one tries to save locality in the Sean Carroll manner he exchanges Space isn't real for society isn't real)!
      This of course doesn't mean "Moon isn't real"(or Life could not evolved on Planet Earth) but rather Space meaning distance and location is emergent.
      3 Orch Or has now massive neuromolecular data supporting it from Anirban Bandyopadhay and Stuart Hameroff teams as well as explanations for how consciousness vanishes under anesthesia and coma like a blew off flame and that Psychodelics are opposite of Anesthesia better than any other Theory.
      Nevertheless although it certainly supports some kind of interconnected cosmic mind "Quantum soul" doesn't hold much water even if Orch Or is true.
      But Telepathy does!
      And was proven in animals by Rupert Sheldrake!
      Although I agree he's deeply controversial in his Mágico Lysenkoist version of genetics, dog experiment was done with scientific rigour and Materialists often just lied about it. Look Theory of Everything interview with Rupert.
      But we should certainly cease to be anthropocentric because although Telepathy and Quantum Non-locality are apparently real "Inteligent Design" certainly isn't! Appendixes, wisdom teeth, laryngeal nerve loop throat making possible to choke by small epiglottis malfunctioning.
      We homo sapiens are certainly nothing but animals with slightly higher IQ.
      So we shouldn't talk about "human consciousness"

    The key to understanding this question is a balance of radical open mindedness, unbiased research into the nature of consciousness, being, and reality from a myriad of sources from different eras and geographical areas, and most importantly, DIRECT EXPERIENCE. When there are reports around the world throughout thousands of years talking about an ineffable transcendent experience that can be accessed directly, don't just sit there trying to rationalize and speculate. Actually go and have this experience for yourself! There exists hundreds of thousands of methods and techniques across hundreds of cultures and traditions around the world. If you are really serious about actually verifying this stuff for yourself, look into the field and history of psychedelics, as they very likely the most effective and powerful tool to access these higher states of consciousness directly.

    I don't know why it's so difficult to see the difference between physical cells and sequences of neurochemical patterns. They both obviously exist however, one of these isn't "made of something".
    You will never find a bunch of neurons identifying as a "self" but you can recognize patterns of activity that collectively correlate with an individual having a sense of being.

  • @NaNAmbient

    I very much agree with the notion that there is more to mind than just the brain and am frankly quite tired with mainstream science of "the Real"(r) claiming monopoly over the truth, instead of simply admitting to being able to provide only a partial answer and failure in explaining a range of phenomena, consciousness being probably the most important one.
    Over the last few CtT videos (mainly in interviews with philosophers, psychologists and some physicists) I noticed the dicussion going around and gently sidestepping a Word that Cannot Be Spoken; an element, that, to me, if taken into consideration, fills many gaps and answers many questions. The missing element I'm speaking of is Spirit. I propose Spirit should be taken into account as one of the elements of our physical reality, but one operating at a level we cannot yet fully (or even partially, for that matter) understand, especially not with the tools within our reach or without broadening our horizons and changing our approach in examining reality.
    I specifically used the word "spirit", because "soul" has very unfortunate religious connotations and I am not referring to anything related to any notion of religion. Instead I am referring to an energy in the universe, that drives the life of conscious beings, that is the "man inside the brain watching the film" of our subjective reality, source of our conscience, compassion, empathy and consciousness. A physical thing beyond our comprehention in terms of analysis, but to which we are strongly (and obviously) connected.

      +Not a Number What happens to this spirit when people have massive brain damage?
      When this happens to people they appear to no longer have their personality or awareness.

    • @NaNAmbient
      @NaNAmbient 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      jagara1 Just to be clear - I'm not claiming I've got all the answers, I'm just proposing a "slight" paradigm shift ;) , so that we can understand the universe and ourselves more completely.
      Regardless, yours is an interesting question. To my understanding, the relation between Spirit and the body (including the brain) is mostly utilitarian, meaning, that the body serves as a "vessel", not unlike a car for the driver. If the vessel is broken, the Spirit might not be able to use it, which to us might look as lack of awareness, catatonia, etc. There are, for example, studies, that suggest that at least some people in coma, though completely unresponsive, may actually be conscious - in some cases aware of their situation, in others complely unaware, i.e. possibly in a dream-like state.

    • @Slarti
      @Slarti 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Not a Number - Conciousness is what is known as 'the hard problem" in science. This is because it very difficult to define.
      As an IT developer as well as someone who used to meditate and experience what are known as dyhana states(states of 'higher conciousness' when in effect parts of the brain shut down and other parts become more active) I always find it very interesting when people talk about 'artificial intelligence". The first point I always make to these people is that in order to really create AI you need to first define what conciousness is. It is at htis point where these people look at me and realise they don't even know where to start.
      I see conciousness more as something that is along a spectrum - so as a child one has a much less well developed awareness than one generally has as an adult.
      Occasionally one may be luck enough to experience an heightened state where perhaps an autumnal setting is perceived with great clarity and the beauty one perceives is in effect merely a more pronounced refinement of senses and perception one already has.
      I think 'spirit' and 'soul' fills in a gap in our experience and provides some comfort.
      Buddhism has had some very interesting things to say about conciousness, in particular that because one can only look at conciousness from a point of view of conciousness one can never fully understand it. It's a bit like trying to measure the 'true' length of a ruler by using the ruler itself.

    He's talking about raising the frequency within human form. THAT can lead to enlightenment, but isn't actually enlightenment. Enlightenment is a very subtle state in which a person merges their consciousness with creation and eventually God. You experience yourself AS creation and simultaneously nothing. Creation as a whole is light. Everyone is enamoured by the light, but the most significant part of enlightenment is the darkness/nothingness from which the light springs. Enlightenment IS endarkenment, but not how he describes. What he is referring to as endarkenment is just generating thoughts/emotions using lower frequency energy centers within the body. Enlightenment happens when you transcend the thought patterns that keep you from existential bliss....once you learn to generate it (gratitude, tears of joy) you blow out the top of your head and become one with creation and God. Christos means "anointed one" messiah means "anointed one" you become ONE with it all.
