Still using a 2007 s712. Works perfectly and the motor sounds as healthy as when new, despite not knowing any better in the early days and using cheap bags. Have since switched to only buying genuine FJM bags
I love my Miele Topaz, it was also made in 2012 and it's still going strong! I inherited it from my second grandmother when she passed, it is a wonderful vacuum. I definitely would get Miele again!
How come they stopped using those low profile power heads? Seems like the newer ones are thicker/heavier/more expensive. What do the newer ones have that these do not?
I have a top of the line miele from the 2000s with that same head. It’s called the sliver moon. The suction motor is about as quiet as you can get on any electrical appliance. Used on medium or lower, the hissing sound of the suction is about as loud as the motor itself. The powerhead is actually the loudest part of the machine making it the only thing you can hear. Are the newer miele vacuums also this quiet? I can vacuum a room while someone is watching tv without any disturbances.
Say, do you think that the Miele canisters of the S2, S4, S6, Classic C1, Compact C1 and Compact C2 models would last longer than the cheap Bissell's, Dirt Devil's, and Eureka's from Walmart?
I have a Callisto that I’ve used for my cleaning company for nearly 15 years; works like the day I bought it
That's awesome to hear!
I have the same Miele. Got mine in 2015. Still going strong.

The Miele S6 a series of machines are truly special I'm sad they're no longer available in the United States. Thanks for watching.
@PerformanceReviews oh wow that's amazing! Thank you for letting me know, you are welcome!
The suction motor still sounds so much better than a new shark.
I have had a c1 turbo for the past week and it rocks
Glad you like your new vacuum cleaner.
Still using mine from the year 2000
Built like a tank 💯!!!

For what they cost it should run for a minimum of 15 years!

Go to your local dealer. Yes the Miele C3 is even quieter.
Do these vacuums do well on shag carpeting? I only ever see them used on hard floors or low pile carpets…
With the SEB228 yes they do
Mines just like that but, I have forgotten where to plug the power wand into ? Help I can’t find it :-(
Do electro poweheads work on the c1 ? Im hoping to get a miele electro comfort for my shag carpets

Absolutely not. A Miele will Outlast those machines by far.
Non powered vacuum heads for carpet are a joke
This has a electric power SEB217 head.
