this is my Lister LD1 that I bought 2 years ago and now it was time to start the restoration. the engine is 2HP @ 1000RPM 1955. I am going to strip her down and repaint it and clean her up.
According to the helpful chap at 'Stationary Engine Parts' and also looking at historical Lister engine data, you are reading the information plate incorrectly. The information plate states LD 15. That's an LD engine type of year 15, ie. 1950+15 = 1965. Not as you stated a LD1 year 5, because production didn't start until 1956 on the LD's.
Hi, good video, But i have a question,.. wat is the sise of the socket, or spanner to remove the nut from the flying wheel..? thank you verry mutsh for the answer...so far..
Hello “engines in Cornwall” today is 7th Dec 2021 and have just returned home with a non running LD 15 which prompted me to look on TH-cam for info and found your series which I will be making good use of over the next few months so thank you for taking the effort to produce the video
Good vid on on your LD1, The bent dipstick is correct on the early LD"s, Shims/head gasket are ment to be at the top,, Various sizes of shims to set your "BUMP" Clearence, should go back the same if you do not skim the head. Good luck with the restoration.
James McGrath No prob,Ok shims nearest the liner, copper nearest the head. All the ones I have worked on or owned have tended to be damp at that joint!!

That is cool you have a pit in your garage. They are banned here in Canada but grandfathered if they were there before a certain date
