I’d be lying to say I didn’t wait for these videos just to see what wacky sounds you can make every time you taste the gin for the first time! Your enthusiasm for Gin is infectious!
I'm Mexican but I'm not a Tequila guy. I love Whisky, bourbon and a newbie in the wolrd of Gin. I found this modest and amazing channel. Thank you very much for this content, this is exactly what I was looking for. I'm lovin Gin and I think it will be my favorite spirit
Meadowsweet is a white/cream coloured herb/wildflower/weed that grows in damp ground. It’s a type of wort. It smells lovely and it grows profusely in the area around Drumshanbo. Every roadside in the area has meadowsweet flowering in the summer months and you can smell it as you drive by.
I'm a gin martini drinker and i just melted after trying it. Its absolutely my favorite gin so far. I Reccomend 'Blue Whale' from California and 'Rusted Revolver from New Jersey (my local distillery)
I don't know why but this gin helps me calm my stomach when I feel a bit nauseated... I drink this with ginger ale and this calms it down and it makes me happy. This tops on my favorite Gin list
Thanks for the shoutout!! Glad you enjoyed the gin. It is epic isn’t it. When it was put in my hand neat at Dublin airport I immediately felt it was worth a buy. Great video as always.
Bobby,you are spot on on this gin,I gave it a go just a few day's ago,and like you said WOW!,kicked like a mule,have a good New Year's eve,be safe,I will be having 20-30 friend's and family at my house tonight,food,booze,and tune's,cheers.
I’m not even a gin fan, but this is one spectacular spirit. I would only drink it straight and at room temperature to avoid masking the subtle flavors, and I almost always take a splash of water. Delicious!
2nd time watching this video, I wanted a refresh of my memory on this one, because I saw it on the shelves of my favorite liquor store, and I didn't buy it because I didn't remember your review, and it was a nice gift package with a couple of glasses, so I hope they still have it in stock!!
This is a really good gin but if you're in Ireland you need to taste Bertha's Revenge! It's probably the only gin made with fermented milk as a base. It has a super intense and special taste.
This and Tanq 10 are my favorite gins. I was amazed at how pleasant this gin is and how much flavor is packed in. Yet, so balanced. They did a magnificent job here.
😂😂😂. Smartly Dressed?!!! More “Lairily Dressed” more like. (Is that even a word 🤷♂️). Thanks for the shout out! You know I love your stuff. Flippin Hilarious and Educational. You’ll catch and overtake me soon! Keep it up. Although you need to feature some Cornish Gins...Trevethan (Honey Oak), Wrecking Coast (Clotted Cream) for starters. Your Tribe will love them! 😘 PS...just Subscribed too. Can’t believe I hadn’t subscribed. 🙈. I’ve watched most of the Vids! 😇
Wonderful review, your reaction was epic and this gin is now at the top of my wishlist! Great entertainment, hell great shirt! You should probably do some merchandise with that magnificent lumberjack shirt! Salute! Andy
Got a bottle last weekend and had it on ice with a little tonic and lime...Good shit. I like the minty floral undertone. It actually tastes like it’s from the orient. I think this may be my new “go to” gin shot. Plus the bottle looks super cool. Thanks!
This is a gin for people who think they don't like gin. Tonic water overpowers the gin, so go easy. A bit of club soda and a squeeze of lime is all you need. It's refreshing on its own over ice. Even my wife likes it and she does not not normally like gin.
Another great review, I will try the gun powder next. Quick question, you have the Whitley Neil Rhubarb and Ginger sitting on the counter, but did you ever do a review of it? (I’ve been looking but can’t seem to find the video)
Hi Bobby! I am actually enjoying a glass of this, with Fevertree, obviously, watching your review again. It is a monumental experience to be sure, it is an extrovert yet complex and cultured gin with extraordinary flavours, with the green tea to the fore but its strongly aromatic, with flavours that linger a long time after you swallow it. I have taken the plunge and ordered my next bottle. What an experience it is! Cheers Andy
I wanted to like this one so bad. I expected to love it. It has citrus it has freaking tea! It has an adorable jackalope on the bottle. It was supposed to become my new favorite, but for some reason i couldn't get into it and I don't know why because I love everything that is in it I've never been so sad I didn't like something 😞
I got both of these for our family Xmas party a couple weeks ago. I find aviation a bit smoother and is a bit better for dry martinis but I love the rich complexity of gunpowder by itself and in mixed fruity cocktails for sure to add that powerful botanical flavor such as the Amy and Navy
This is a lovely gin, it's so well balanced and drinkable, just add Ice and tonic it's beautiful. Just picked up two bottles as it was on special offer €25 for 70cl. The minimum unit price here in Ireland means a bottle of nasty Aldi gin Is only €4 cheaper, it is just ridiculous. I have also picked up a bottle of Method and Madness gin, have you tried that one? It's made here in Cork.
i am drinking it right now. I bought the bottle after seeing your video. i didnt enjoy the taste as much as the looks of the bottle. once in a while I get the bottle to see if I still not like it and yes indeed, it is not for me. xx
Funny you should mention Fr. Ted. Drumshanbo I was mentioned in an episode. Specifically the “Drumshanbo Massacre”. There also a Van Morrison song called after the town. “The Drumshanbo Shuffle”.
Hey there! Not sure why but all of a sudden I became interested in gin, I've never drank any but something caught my attention and Ive been watching your videos lately. I wonder though, is the tonic water you use cold or is it room temperature?
Hey man, great review! :) Just a quick question here - why don't you ever try the gins neat? Doesn't mixing it with tonic influence the overall taste a bit too much?
Hey Daniel Good question but adding fevertree, it’s actually releases the flavours so that you can taste them much more than when you drink it neat. Some master distillers, when tasting neat gin, actually add a tiny spot of water as it has the same effect. Try it’s and see what you think 👍👍
You get more flavor and less alcohol burn. Plus if you use the same gin all the time, it's a good baseline. Same with whiskey. If you're tasting for flavors, a little water brings out a lot of flavors usually hidden by the burn.
Gunpowder, along with Monkey, and some other gins, are what I call, “Kitchen Sink Gins.” They throw everything and the kitchen sink in them as a selling point, but gin is spirit where less is more, although with Aviation, they’ve reduced it to just Vodka.
I've been reluctant to try this gin since the name kind of turned me off (Afraid it might have had an essence of gunpowder!). Anyway, I can't wait to try it now! Thanks for a great video, Bobby, I like your style!
Thanks Genebigs! It is a bit misleading isn’t it? It’s certainly very unique and jam packed with flavours. It also looks great on the shelf! Let me know what you think 😊👍
Hey guys! I Just bought a bottle of this, and I really dont know Which fever tree tonic is the best fit for this gin. Any suggestions? Mediterranian/indian/eldelflower ? I heard that juniper forward gins fit with fever tree indian tonic water, citrus forward gins fit with mediterranian. In this case, What Do you think?
@@nononsensegindrinking5152 Than for the quick response. You mean you tried the drumshanbo with several tonic? And Still the gold label? Not Any other? I Watched Lots of your videos, and you always drinks every gin with the gold label tonic :).
