This scene is very cathartic for me. After my mother passed from cancer, this scene never fails to bring me to tears. Not tears of sadness, but tears of understanding of the impermanence of our world, along with all the suffering in it. Its partly tears of joy at the beauty of it as well.

Very wise words friend. When I was a teenager, (which was only a few years ago lol) my dad died instantly of a massive heart attack in the bathroom, my family woke up in the morning to find him gone, no warning. Without saying much more I definitely understand ❤ and there is 100% beauty in the realization of emptiness.

I'm terribly sorry for your loss. I just lost someone, too. We all end. Only the impermanence is permanent.

And to think this piece of art takes weeks to months to create and in one minute; it is all gone deliberately to show the nature of impermanence. In our normal thinking, we want something to last ages when we work on something, especially that long.
But this scence demonstrates the nature of life--nothing ever remains permanent. Even the memories of our past leaders fall into confusion and interpretation of scholars.

Guaranteed goosebumps from start to end in this remarkable documentary.... you really need to watch in ultra HD on a big screen to appreciate more.

I saw this in theaters because of friend just happened to hear about it at the time. Took an edible and timed it right for the start. Unforgettable experience, mind blowing film. Nothing like it besides its predecessor, Baraka

@@TeddyOG I can only begin to imagine how much better this is when viewing in cinemas! Wow.. if only. What was your edible of choice? I watched this and Baraka while sipping tea and munching biscuits.

@@Daud76 I hope every day it gets attention again and a re-release. I can't think of a more deserving film besides maybe the original Baraka. It was a weed cookie I think, the perfect amount needed at the time. But honestly even with no imbibing the movie feels like a trip regardless

@@TeddyOG I agree and I think it is up to us to spread the word of Baraka and Samsara to people far and wide. It really is an eye opener and a jaw dropper.

Hm, I begin to understand to accept sadness and happiness aren't opposites. They can't exist without each other. So, in order to find harmony, it is necessary to embrace both as equals.

This is from the movie samsara, the temporary nature of things , what's cool is the next scene is the dessert and you think of the sand dunes being created by the entities much like the monks like the universe is 3d printed.

      lets taste the word: virtual
aim is to create it, not to destroy, they destroy it to be able to make another one, but its still alive=virtual (virtus=life, courage) after its destroyed, cuz its a dream/ graf like mandelbrot mandala we are in, and the smallest part of it contains the whole space/room and its time/past, and its future in this moment, and in this.....
i always lived and always will

not the piece of art itself
but rather the picture of it
which could not possibly stay in eternity

    • @pbarnes171
      @pbarnes171 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

That thought occurred to me as well. Then it occurred to me that the philosophy underlying the art form is a core tenant of a belief system that many individuals have gone out of their way to promulgate for thousands of years.
If it is ironic that this piece of art was preserved (albeit temporarily), then it seems to follow logically that it was ironic that Buddha sought to pass on his perspective. That train of thought makes me giggle because I think it both are kinda ironic. But I'm also very grateful for them both.
I am glad for humans such as these.

Samsara is cruel, a hellish way of existence. To live, suffer, die and to live and suffer and die again over and over and over and over for eternity, if this is not hell, then what is? You could argue that through enlightenment one can escape this cycle, but how? Does the universe flip a switch as soon as you are enlightened, and you stop being conscious forever after you die instead of getting reborn? If you get reborn as a random person without your former memories, emotions etc, which is likely the case, there must be a source of conciousness in this existence where all are the same. So if you are part of this consciousness, but you alone as individual enlighten on this planet, how can you return to the source of conciousness if you're part of every other human soul? Does that imply that there is something like an individual soul?
