My mom, a home ec teacher, only ate real butter all her life; in fact, she hated margarine! She also made fresh bread weekly, never bought any frozen entrees, packaged or processed foods, deli meats, etc. She also walked daily.
She just passed away at age 90 after an incredibly healthy life.

My father just passed away at almost 98, still cooking his own meals and not even on any medications. He ate whatever he wanted, including kielbasa, lunchmeat, beef, ice cream, etc. But he did walk almost every day. No, he didn’t have good genes. No one in his family made it past 70, but him. He was super cognizant until the day he died. I don’t know the answer.

Hello Bobby! I’ve been watching you for years and you are right on with your teachings about healthy foods. I do want to mention and hopefully maybe you will add this as a lesson for people to learn. There is so much SALT in everything. Even your Bobby approved breads have 130 mg of salt per slice. That’s why I don’t eat bread anymore. Thank you for all you do teaching people to eat more healthy.

    1. Butter (NOT margarine) - grass fed, European style & high butter fat content
    - Brands: Kerry Gold, Aldi Irish, Costco grassfed, Vital Farms grassfed
    2. Eggs - pasture raised preferred, they are nutrient dense & chickens are cared for properly… NOT cage free or free range!
    3. Bread - whole grain wheat is naturally high in fiber. No (added) sugar, soybean oil should be added.
    - Brands: Dave’s
    4. Coffee - ground or whole bean ONLY. Stay away from flavored (usually artificial) or most known creamers made w/artificial ingredients & preservatives. No kcups or pods; packaging is made w/metal & plastic. Get a stainless steel pod to put coffee in.
    - directly sourced coffee or jasmine loose leaf green tea
    5. Cereal - basically processed, synthetic breakfast junk food. Preferred organic old fashioned oats. Fiber rich.
    6. Tuna - high in protein. Alaskan, wild caught preferred.
    7. Turkey breast - should only be turkey & any seasoning. NO added preservatives or fillers; they tend to be inflammatory.
    - Brands: Applegate organic
    8. Chips - the type of oil used matters! NO seed oils, they are inflammatory. Preferably avocado or coconut oil.
    - Brands: Siete
    9. Beef: pasture raised, grassfed. More nutrient dense. No grain fed.
    10. Salmon - wild caught salmon is nutrient dense w/omegas & Naturally dark pink. Fame raised has color added.

Something worth mentioning about oats, better to buy them sprouted like the ones Costco has, sprouting and/or soaking them yourself to break down the phytic acid. Phytic acid will block the uptake of certain minerals like iron and zinc.

    Better options -
    Breakfast
    1. Butter - grass fed, organic, European style (not margarine)
    2. Eggs - Pasture raised, organic if possible (not free range/cage free)
    3. Bread - sprouted bread best, fiber rich, (no enriched flour or added sugar)
    4. Coffee - single origin, organic (k-cup pods are full of toxins)
    5. Cereal - swap for pure organic oats
    Lunch:
    6. Tuna - high in protein.
    7. Turkey - no extra ingredients, better option Applegate good choice, organic if possible, organic turkey 3 pack from Costco
    8. Chips - cooked in avocado oil (no seed oils)
    Dinner:
    9. Ground beef - 100% pasture raised grass fed
    10. Salmon - wild caught

First of all I LOVE YOUR WORK!! and watch your Costco Videos all the time. And: Just FYI, it isn't correct to say "You and I" (which you say in almost all your videos) in the context that you are using it in this video. It would be healthier for "you and me". The way you can tell which is grammatically correct is take "you" out of the sentence and see if you would say me or I. So you could say if I were eating this it would be healthier, but you wouldn't say it would be healthier for I to eat that. Keep up the good work you are offering a wonderful service.

My husband has a corn allergy. It’s crazy how many items have corn, but also where it’s hidden - it’s in the wax coating on apples, in ground coffee (it’s not 100% coffee beans!) and of course most condiments and processed foods as dextrin, dextrose and maltodextrin. Food companies can also change ingredients without new packaging so I find myself reading labels every time just in case.

Where can you find wild caught salmon ( not in a can )? All I have been able to find in the grocery store is wild caught sockeye salmon, but my family doesn’t t like that kind of salmon. Every other salmon I see at the grocery store is farm raised or organic. I usually shop at Whole Foods, Marianos, or Jewel.

Aldi doesn't always have wild caught salmon. When available, I buy the Norwegian Farm Raised salmon, since they practice the superior methods at their farms. If that's not available, I wait until it is.

Bob, wondering if a lot of of your audience really realizes what inflammatory products do in the body I’m familiar but it goes from the brain through the whole body. These is bad inflammatory products is that correct and maybe a lot of people don’t understand how this inflammatory word affects their health thanks again. I bet you’ve done videos on that. I will look it up.🎉❤

My question for you was whether or not this list has been updated. I know over the years products have changed such as Rajos. Thanks for answering, love your work.

Bobby, love the channel and your work. Appreciate your goal in helping people. Please provide references on nail in the coffin on seed oils being inflammatory. Both Nutrition Made Simple and Layne Norton reviewed the actual available literature on seed oils and when studied find there’s no increase in inflammatory markers, and in fact some seed oils show a decrease in inflammatory markers. I know it’s the “cool” thing to do right now to vilify seed oils, but from the available research it looks to be a bunch of influencer BS, and I thought you were better than that

Great video. Got a big laugh when Bobby was talking about the coffee creamers. When he said how bad the "normal" creamers that were everywhere I had a flashback to the movie 9 to 5 (1980 with Dolly Parton and Lily Tomlin) and how the Lily Tomlin character accidentally poisoned her boss with a box of rat poison that looked like their normal coffee creamer. Had me wondering if the rat poison and the "normal" creamers were equally dangerous. HAHAHA. 😆🤣
