I prefer the 4 cylinder over the six because the 6 carries extra weight and the 330I handles better than the M340i. People are obsessed with power and engine size and do not realize this engine makes this car ‘fast enough’.
Agreed. Even with the 4 cylinder you are getting more gas milage than a more powerful BMW. My mother has the same exact one and when it's on full gas you almost get 400 miles full tank.
Very Good Review Joe. The 3 series is a great sedan but i advised anyone who buys one, Get the extended maintenance/warranty and don’t keep it pass 70K miles. If you do, you are going to almost buy a new 3 series with repairs

It's such a shame they got rid of the buttons with iDrive 8. I have a pre-LCI M340i and use my physical buttons daily. The even got rid of the BMW preset buttons, those are so handy. Brilliant idea, sad to see it gone.
Agree 100% I have a 2022 M340i and purposely bought just as 2023's were coming out to keep the buttons and more integrated looking iDrive screen. It's literally the perfect daily
Getting rid of the physical preset buttons and placing them on a "swipe down" from the top feature on new screen for the presets ... agree, bad idea IMO. I honestly feel these large ugly screens dominating the dash requiring multiple steps to actuate systems in/on the car will go away. I feel that safety will drive this as it becomes more of a distraction to me than anything else.

Regarding pumped-in noise mentioned by Raiti, you can adjust its level... You can get rid of it or amplify it or let the car dynamically adjust its level
Yea most cars you can now but it's still disappointing that they can't just make the exhaust sound good itself. I know it's a tiny 2 liter but if Hyundai can do it, so can BMW.
Love the 3 series! I own a 2020 330i and I absolutely love it and it's exceedingly fuel efficient for a pure petrol engine. This new 330i (love the color by the way) is nice. I'm a foglights type of guy, I think cars look slicker, graceful and just more complete with them. It sux this new 3 series does not have em. I also love that you can get red for an interior color option which you could not get with the generation I own. But I absolutely hate just hate the new screen layout and the fact BMW got rid of a lot of physical buttons. Glad I got my 3 series when I got it.

Great review!! I actually think this one is classy and subtle!! I agree with you about the gloss black not looking good in the rear, but it does match the front.
Love my 2019 330i M-SPORT car is a blast to drive and so balanced all around. prefer the M-SPORT front and rear bumpers over these. i drive 8 is a step back from i drive 7 as well i think it feels to convoluted.
What would you pick between a Genesis G70 3.3T vs a BMW 330i? I feel like to get the performance of a 3.3T G70 you have to go up to a M340i and that's a lot more expensive.
Having seen a similarly specced 330 during my recent trip to the US, I can say that it looks very good, except for that black glossy plastic part on the lower front and lower rear, I thought that looked cheap. Also no buttons for climate control is not ideal imo. But I am sure that it's a great daily driver.
It's a great daily driver but like you say, those touchscreen climate controls are a problem. After 5 months I'm still not used to them and it still irritates me every time I want to change the A/C or heated seats. Of course, only a minor detail on the whole, all in all I do really like it
Great review Joe. I don't love the silver grill, I'd prefer it to be the blacked out shadow line grill. I like the gloss black rear diffuser a lot. I'm old school; I like buttons for certain features. I'd also be willing to pay the extra $8-$10K for the M340 because the power difference is worth it.
Great car from my own personal experience with a 2020 model. For 2023 however, bmw should’ve at least increased it to 305 hp same 295 ft lbs of torque That would put it on par with the step up m340i having 382 hp and 369 ft lbs of torque. Make it make sense. I mean they have touched up on everything else like the new LCI Botox facelift the fillers in the rear end. The weird gear shifter. At least give us more horse power.
You need to review the new M340i next Joe! 😊 I bought the new 2023 M340i LCI a couple of weeks ago and it’s absolutely brilliant. Possibly the best daily driver?
I went with the 2-door version with 4-doors (G26 - M440i Gran Coupe) b/c of the flexibility of the 4 doors and the hatchback style opening for the boot. Agree with being just the best daily driver. Combination of performance when needed, and comfort/economy also if needed. I'd be hard pressed to pick an M version over the "M-light" versions since they've done such an amazing job lately with the _40i series of vehicles!
One thing i am curious about is, do the rear turn signals interfere with the brake lights? I noticed there's an extra, lower portion to the turn signals, so if you have your hazards on, would the lower portion stay blinking when you are braking while the upper portion stays on to indicate you are braking? Something that i think is actually a major safety issue on our roads, and I really think it should be a law to have the braking lights separated from the turn signal lights. Other than that, i am totally loving this styling, and the interior really suits this class of car very well.
IMO/E, for the money you absolutely cannot beat the Giulia. Faster, handles better, same transmission and audio, better seats, and looks that beat everything in the class. Cannot wait to order my 24!
