  • Trapping wolves in Northern British Columbia Canada. Wolf populations continue to increase and they target big game ungulates such as moose, deer, elk and caribou. These predators need to be kept in check. #wolftrapping, #trappingwolves, #trapping

Awesome catch! Lots of snow turns into lots of work. But after a catch like that it sure is encouraging.

Congrats on Wolf number 5 Brother! So nice to harvest some of them. Still hoping I catch 1 or 2 this season. I think that there is only a pair coming through.
Irritates me when those ass clowns have to go blundering on through a trapping territory making a mess of everything and snooping around.
Thanks for the show! Have a good day.

Thanks. I think the trail I saw by the catch may have also been old snowshoe tracks. I plan to go back and see where both go.

That’s so freaking cool getting a wolf in a snare man, congrats on the catch!

Thanks. It’s always exciting, especially when it doesn’t happen on a regular basis 😂. Although I’m always excited when I see a trap has connected 😁

Nothing like seeing a bent tree where your snare is. Tough conditions to trap in. Congrats on the wolf and thanks for the video. Hope the "snooper" stays away.

Thanks. As long as they don’t tamper with the sets. I’ve had a few traps and animals stolen

@@deadpinecollective Happens to me pretty well yearly. It is very upsetting. The odds of knowing the thief is pretty high, too. Not a fan of hypocrites. Then again, most people are alright and respectful. I have had many phone me to say I had a catch.

@@deadpinecollective Since trapping is inhumane you deserved it and even more. Anyone who thinks trapping is humane should take a look at the thumbnail, that twisted mangled wolf died in suffering. Yes really humane. Dead pine trappers? More suffering pine fetishists.

Great video! Where i live we don't have wolves only coywolves. A cross between Coyotes and wolves, interesting hey?

Congratulations on the wolf , that deep snow really makes it more difficult . When does your wolf season end ? Here in Mont . it ends this week the 15th. Good luck !

We can actually go really late, up to the end of May, but the hides are not great. They start to loose fur in the next little bit. It’s been staying cold which helps but not for long.

Many years ago I bought a beautiful lynx fur hat from a trapper up by Fort Liard? I was working at a logging camp when the family came through on their snowmobiles. They were all wearing fur hats that looked kinda like football helmets with a neck flap on the back made from black bear fur. Minus 55 and your head is toasty warm. Very well made too. Their business is called Morningstar Furs. I hope they’re still in business.

I’ll have to look them up. I’m having a fur hat made from polar bear from someone far up in the Territories.

Grizzly and Black Bear also.... 2016 was the last year in BC where you could legally harvest a Grizzly.... NOW there are Grizzly everywhere it seems.... Vancouver Island even has an estimated population of over 100 Grizzly

      @deadpinecollective  หลายเดือนก่อน

Yup, I have grizzlies all over this trapline. I’m in North Central BC and we see grizzly tracks regularly, especially in Nov/Dec in the snow.

I assume you mean control of the wolf population? Can’t control it, but try to manage it a bit. We only take a few out of the pack each year. Moose and deer populations are way down this year in this region.
