  • You don't need expensive gear to make great content. A new camera will not make you a better photographer or filmmaker. Everything I used to make this video can be bought for cheaper than a new Sony or Canon camera body. I hope this video helps you with your decision on equipment and gets you to focus on your skills rather than your equipment. Thanks for watching

Very interesting, especially the differences in total costs between your equipment and the Sony a7. But what do you think, are your camera + lens of 1200$ really that "cheap"? Sure the Sony is way more expensive. But I get the impression that you are already working with some advanced hardware, too :D
Btw your video looks absolutely great, especially the lighting! 😊

Thank you very much. I mean, It's not exactly cheap, but many would consider this an entry level set up considering you spend $1200 on just a lens. For a while my main lens was the canon 50mm that you can get for under $200. But I'm usually more willing to spend more on a lens which is why I bought the sigma 18-35. Thanks again for the kind words. I appreciate it!

Michael, Thank you so much for speaking the truth I am starting up and I have a Canon M100. For photos but I would not record video on it as its a camera not a camcorder, yes it's light to hold on the move. But most of the videos I want to record I will be sat stationary indoors. Therefore, I did save a little money and found a really good deal here in the UK for a Sony Camcorder. Not having to worry that I can only record for 30 minutes, I can slot up to 2 1TB memory cards in one go. Can I ask your thoughts on this?
    Thanks,
    Rahul.

Thanks for the comment! I would say that if you know you are going to be recording for more than 30 minutes often to go for the camcorder if its a good price for you. I find it pretty annoying when I'm recording that I have to stop and start again. Hope this helps!

@@MichaelSturgill Thank you for your reply Michael. I have already brought the camcorder. Yes the 30 minutes is an annoying factor.

I have multiple RAW photos of the same object in the same srounding and lightning , I would like to know how to apply the same color corrections and color grading with out having to do it every time for each picture?

I would probably use something like Lightroom, capture one, or darktable for something like that. Those programs are kinda made for that sort of thing. darktable is free if you need one of them. Hope this helps!
