Have the Nikon D810. My dream camera would be the Sony A1 with in camera focus stacking to be combine later in software. = Low light AF, wildlife, nature & landscapes mostly. So if you have any connections with the people at Sony for them to add focus stacking. Just starting to do very minor video & could really use a mirrorless.
I shoot with the Sony a6400 and I love this camera it’s great for photo and video. The camera I would love to add well I’m gonna be cheeky there’s 2 the Sony fx3 for video and the Sony A7 4. I think the best piece of advice that struck a cord with me the most out of all the great information was to shoot for yourself and not the likes. I loved that made me remember why I do this in the 1st place👍
3.5 years ago i started at 47 years old with a fujifilm s6500fd and upgraded to my current camera the Canon eos 200d 4 months later, I take milky way nightscapes using a Tokina 14-20mm f2, night street with a sigma 30mm f1.4 and general landscape etc with the 2 lenses it came with as a bundle 18-55mm f4-5.6 and 55-250mm
I Currently Have The Sony a7RIV and My Current Dream Camera Is The Sony a7IV for Video/Vlog (I Need That Flip Screen lol)
Canon 1dxii it sits there unless their is a sporting thing I’m shooting then with my iPhone or what ever I have
The Nintendo DSI XL camera is superior
The camera is a beast in low light and great for Astro photography.

Got my first camera 7 months ago. I got the Sony a7iii. I'm so happy I did. It came with the kit lens of 28-70mm 3.5 and I purchased the Tamron 70-300mm 4.5. I also now have a great tripod, camera backpack, filters for both lenses, Peak Design camera clip and camera strap with quick release anchors, cleaning kit with dust blower and an extra Sony battery. I'm set I think. LOL
I absolutely love taking photos and I love seeing others as well. Keep up the great content Pierre. Your one of my favorite photographers so far (and I follow quite a few), you inspire me. Thank You.
do u recommend the tamron lens?
@@berat9826 the lens I have above was $500 and for that price it's totally worth it. I use it more than my other lens probably because I do a lot of landscape shots and I love having the ability of zooming right in to a subject or scene. If you have the money I'd say give it a shot. Tamron makes pretty decent lenses imo.
Startet with a Sony A6400 and shot for about 2 years and then made the switch to a Sony A7IV. The 70-200 mm is my absolute favourite!

Where is the Nikon love? I used the D850 for the longest time, to me it was the best camera ever but now I have the Z9 and Nikon really upped their game on the video side aswell! Now i'm trading in my A7sIII because the Z9 can handle it perfectly!

Sensor and lens cleaning kit. Especially when you are carrying zoom lenses + 70mm. Micro dust on your sensor will show

Enjoyed the video, getting close to where I'm at, next door in Nevada, I shoot with many different cameras, mainly Nikon FX cameras but my Sony RX1 is my favorite travel camera.
I recently purchased a Canon EOS R5 and a Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS USM Lens. My next lens purchase will be a Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM Lens. That's all the lens you need, folks.

I think fujifilm are some of the best for hybrid beginners, good colour science, relatively inexpensive primes, good autofocus and they're good in both video and photo... I would love to get a xt3 on my hands!
Definitely recommend an X-T3, I just got one and it's such a good hybrid camera. Make sure to get one used so it's even cheaper and your can spend the rest of your budget on lenses
@@Bocsaphoto well I don't know about buying used... I mean the difference between used and new is like 200€/$ but with one u know that no one touched it and the other you don't know what they did with... it's a tough dilemma
@@zakk6513 not even close, just find one with a confirmed low shutter count to know how much the previous owner used it. Just be vigilant when looking for any possible defects and stuff, which is still highly unlikely. Also try to look on websites where you can meet up in person with the seller because they are guaranteed to be wayyyy less sketchy (cough cough ebay)
i loved my XT2. it was the camera that made me fall in love with photography and make it my career. great hybrid camera, the XT3 is even better video and photo.
Spoiler alert! It doesn’t matter which digital camera you buy in 2022 (or any of the past 10 years). All of the major players make great cameras. Just select the one that feels good in your hands and has the features that you need. It’s not that difficult. Happy shooting!

I just recently got into photo/video, starting off with a Sony A7II :)
Canon R5, significant investement but a great hybrid camera.
Still owns a few older Canon bodies and plenty of lenses, but they are clearly behind the R5 & RF lenses, so hardly use them nowadays.
they sony fanboys they dont care about r5 lol... but yea r5 is dope ... paird with 50 1.2rf is a insane look!
The best camera to buy would be the one that just looks nice and shiny!
I have a Canon EOS 90D bought it during the first year of the pandamic (september 2020), love this and although i'm not a pro even close to that all you can find on the internet really helps. In understanding the different modes, ISO, F stop and so on.
Going to learn more and more and my dreamcamera?? I dont have one, but a R6 is the one i want to try out.
Skip the r6. It overheated while I was setting the custom buttons and it overheats shooting 4k..pretty redonculous for a $2500 camera. (and i'm a canon fanboy). If you need a camera right now i'de spend $500 more on a used r5. If you can wait then do so until the r5/r6 mark II comes out in 2024 (maybe)
The 90D will be plenty for a beginner for a good while. No real need to do much upgrading from the 90D unless you’re really getting into it or you have a lot of money laying around

The very light OM System OM-1 if you don't want to ruin your cervical spine. Many professionals can tell you a thing or two about it after a few years using the very heavy Canon or Sony cameras and lenses.
The perfect Olympus image stabilization achieves in combination with the small and light Olympus lenses at least two stops in comparison with Sony or Canon.
Hopefully there is a video coming that shows your photos from Utah
I'm still with Canon, but thinking about going with Nikon or Sony. Why nobody gives more love to Nikon? The image quality is the best of all normal brands
Nikon focuses too much on photography, but for video it's lacking compared to the two other brands.
Sony's the most recommended because they have adapter mounts that can use both nikon or canon lenses.
@@FrostMonolith Nikon mount can adapt near everything. There are adapters tu use Sony lenses on Nikon cameras. But you are right, the Nikon cameras are not up to par with video features, except the Z9 that is a beast for video, a near perfect hybrid camera
I still use my 5dmk2 and have some small Fuji APSCs for grab and go fun. Im looking at Fuji medium format or Nikon Z7II to replace my 5d.
A7iv is an elite camera and I hope to move from the A7iii to the A7iv soon, I am also looking to try the 35-150 Tamron, teamed with my Sigma 85 DG DN, I cant see any other lenses that I would need for my workload, maybe a sigma 24 DG DN later down the line. Hoping Black Friday 22 will bring the Tamron down a few hundred, if I can snap it for £1200, I will do it without hesitation.

Question regarding your presets: Which profile are they made to fit? I noticed that some of the presets sets the profile to "Adobe Standard" while others don't set any profile. I suppose some presets are saved with the "Treatment and profile" checked, while others are not. What is the recommendation?

Moving from Canon to Nikon a while back I completely fell in love with the Z system
Personally I never felt compelled to ever try Sony, even though their top end cameras now seem to be getting on par in terms of ergo and overall usability with the likes of Canon and Nikon, but still I just prefer images coming out of Nikon and Canon compared to what I've seen from Sony.
Perhaps your question "What Camewra To Buy in 2022" and the overall perspective would have been way better if you had a panel who use and prefer/recommend different camera brands. Just saying.

Fujifilm XT1 for pure photographers, Fujifilm XT4 for hybrid shooters, Sony a7riii for professional commercial photographers, and Sony a7Siii for videographers

@@maurycy5739 same, got the g1 of the 28-75, and the sony 85 1.8, will use this combo with the a73 for a long time, not enough reason to upgrade to anything else, and i shoot landscape, the a7r3/4 have higher res, but honestly ive rented the a7r4 and its not worth it to me

I love the video...but the one problem I have with it is a lot of people starting out can't afford or can't justify the cost of the things you guys mentioned. Is there a video like this for ACTUAL beginners? I mean starting out with an almost $2500(body only) to 3 thousand dollar camera (bundle) for a beginner might be a bit much for the majority of people. Then of course each of the lenses you guys mentioned are between $1200 & $2400 maybe more...didn't check all of them, just seems a bit excessive for every day shooters. IDK...maybe its just me?
So what do you think a beginners budget should be? Probably my advice would be to buy some fantastic gear second hand. There are a lot of people who switch from DSLR to mirrorless right now, meaning that you can often find fantastic DSLRs for little money.
DSLR bro, just buy one, don't need mirrorless, DSLR are life, you find every lenses you want and fck a mirrorless owner :)
Get pre owned gear. You can find great deals on used lenses and camera bodies.
His content is mostly geared toward working photographers and these just become expensive tools like an expensive drill to a carpenter, or spanner set to a working mechanic.

I have been wanting to upgrade to a mirrorless but seeing as I am not getting paid to shoot I can't honestly justify the cost for the mirrorless cameras that are on the market right now. Panasonic s5 is heavily overlooked only because of the auto focus. What it is capable of especially at the price point it's very good the colors are amazing. I find myself using it more often than my sony A7iv. If the Auto focus is not a deal breaker for you I highly recommend the camera, plus its still pretty usable imo

The AF isn’t great for video but I have no issues with it for photography

If I have a budget of roughly 3000, (I’m a beginner) and I want to become a wedding photographer, and portrait photographer. What camera should I get? What lenses? I’ve done so much research and it hasn’t narrowed down my decision.
Right now #1 Sony A7RIVA (or Sony A7RIV used), #2 (budget) Sony A7RIIIA (or A7RIII used), #3 Sony A7RV if you can wait a couple of month.

I have to be one of the few that went from Sony a7 II to a Fujifilm X-T30 😅
Sony just didn't give me joy using it. Fujis have great bodies and layout. It's just fun to use.
Amen, went from a Sony A7R II to a Fuji X-S10. No-one ever talks about how trash Sony's menu is to use but it really makes a big impact. Regardless of specs I take way better photos and videos on the Fuji purely from actually being able to enjoy using it.
I have gh5 with sigma 16mm f1.4 but oh boy those sony are a dream to have but are so expensive

Sony 15mm 1.4 G and Sony Zeiss Sonnar 55mm 1.8 if you want the best. Sigma 56mm 1.4 as a cheaper alternative.

Fuji X-T4 with 16-55 lens as a workhorse.
@Shariq Ahmed🌎💙 Because the lenses are substantially smaller and lighter for an equivalent focal range. Secondly the Fuji X-T3 is an analogue experience. More retro. Real physical dials. Not pasm controls.
The Sony A7IV I also own is a souless calculator. The Fuji is art.
Creativity wise I vastly prefer the apsc Fuji.
Point and shoot brilliance the Sony is king.
Both have advantages and disadvantages as I said.
Full frame is not always best.
Almost any Sony APSC Camera !
@@thegeneral123 Sony APSC has better autofocus even Fuji's highend cameras can't compete at it, new generation cameras has better color science, very compact size, Sigma is doing great on lens for Sony APSC, great hybrid performance (a6400, a6600)
I've gone through alot of the brands and I have to say, although Id prefer to shoot video on Fuji and Sony, Canons colours are just soooooo damn goood. Its a pain to edit the other brands photos. It always takes longer. I started as a canon shooter so this is maybe why but my style is completely different these days. If you have a canon, get the 50mm f1.8 and you are set for 90% of everything😂 People say colour science is a stupid reason to by a camera because you can change the colours in post but NO. Colour and the tones are EVERYTHING. I really struggle to get the same insane results as canon on the other brands and I can do just about anything on lightroom. You can get the same results, it just takes way longer and its far more tedious. Video however I have to say Fuji is killing it. Their footage grades soooo nice, the footage plays smoothly and I honestly hate filming with anything else in comparison.

I found 3 different Sony a7 IV, ther is the 7M4 (about 2800€), there is the 7R IV (about 3700€), there is the 7RM4 (about 4000€).
What Sony a7 IV are they talking about, does anyone know?

I started with canon and switched too Sony a yr later and been shooting happily with the Sony a7iii sigma 1.4 dg dn art 35/85 combo and been shooting 4yrs and loving it. I think my most important equipment outside the camera and lens would be my firearm to avoid being robbed for the gear I spend tons of money on!
What would you recomand to a beginner with a buget of 2000? Should I go for Sony a7iii? Or wait a bit more and go for iv gen?
im trying to decide the same right now (a7c and a7iv in my case).
between the a7iii and a7iv. i say if you have the money, get the a7iv. it will retain value much more over the next few years. the a7iv has a better sensor, 33 mp vs 24mp, better autofocus, bird eye autofocus, two card slots one of which is a cfexpress slot, 10 bit color, 4k 60p (even tho its cropped). the aperture closes when swapping lens's to prevent dust from getting on the sensor, the grip is better, there are more customizable buttons, the EVF and screen are both better, theres a flip out screen, new menu system, and finally has touch screen function, not just for autofocus...
I think I just gave myself the answer writing this comment, so thanks. lol.
FUJIFILM XH2! It’s $1999 and has specs that you won’t find in any camera unless you’re paying $4000 for it
the lens and the user matter more then the body and if I were buying into a new mount today I would be leaving Canon for Sony because of 3rd party support and more budget options.

I'm not sure I would recommend Sony to a beginner. Someone else mentioned the financial investment (even for their apsc bodies) may be a little much for a beginner. I've been shooting the latest and greatest for going on ten years and I find myself going the opposite direction these days: smaller, lighter, cheaper, older. There's a movement happening in various photography circles that are going for cameras that are 5 or even 10 years old because much like film, they have a "look". If someone was looking to get into photography, i'd say find a cheap point and shoot, a ten year old fuji with a fixed lens, or a cheap olympus or panasonic off of ebay. Learn the craft, learn what each setting does, where your equipment lacks, and what features might help you if you decide to stick with photography. Some people hang on to those kinds of cameras for years even after "upgrading" to a "pro" camera. But of course since the investment wasn't too big old equipment can always be sold close to what you paid for it.
I shoot with a Sony A1 but I also have been shooting with Sony A mount since 2006 and I own a ton of lens for it! I still have my Sony A900 and 3-A99m2 bodies and both the A77 and A77m2 bodies because I love the almost unlimited supply of cheap great Minolta and Sony lens that are available for them which I have gotten for way cheaper than new E mount lens and they perform wonderfully on both A and E mount and the rendering from the A900 is still magical!

In a minority, i love my Nikon z9. Unrivaled ergonomics, 8k raw in camera, 20fps at 45.7mp more than enough for my needs
Honestly I'm glad that there are people like you, just use what you like instead of chasing 0.5% improvements 0.3% better sensors and other % comparative stuff.
