  • One of the entertainment industry's truly nice guys, Roy Rogers, along with wife Dale Evans created an western entertainment empire in the 20th century. From movie to television, Roy Rogers was a calming and honest presence who helped create the American western cowboy 'white hat' image.
After a successful career in feature films in the 1930s an 1940s, Roy Rogers made the transition to television with The Roy Rogers Show and production company. The show ran on NBC from 1951 to 1957, and then moved over to the early morning Saturday lineup on CBS from 1961 to 1964. A generation of young people grew up watching Roy Rogers on television, and many wanted to become cowboys like Roy, or cowgirls like Dale. They are iconic.
