Sometimes that bay laurel has a tendency to dry pretty solid. How often are you sharpening your gouges? It looked like that laurel was giving you a hard time on the outside and your gouge was skipping several times. Anyways. A very nice bowl turnout. Good job. Keep a goin!
Definitely didn't sharpen enough - when I'm running through a batch of pre-dried blanks I'll usually sharpen once for the outside, sharpen before the final pass, then do the inside, then sharpen before the final pass there, too. It's also always possible that I forgot on this bowl 😂
@@qbranchwoodworks Hey, anything is possible is definitely true when it comes to woodcraft. You may be knowledgeable in the world of woodcraft, but the actual wood, can teach us an abundance of knowledge. To sum it all up, I'll say what my turning mentor tells me every week: "If yah ain't turnin', you ain't learnin." Truer words were never spoken. Lol. Anyways. Keep those gouges sharp, ride the bevel, and let them shavings fly son!!! Keep a goin.
