I'm a Japanese and I haven't seen some of the commercials in the video, but I can explain a few things. The little text at the end of the graphite one says "Graphite is used to make mechanical pencil lead" more or less. Graphite as an ingredient is not well known so I guess they thought it necessary to point that out. The little guy whom the woman carrying a fridge was looking for represents charcoal and the product the commercial was about was a kind of air freshener for a fridge. Air fresheners using charcoal are not uncommon. I'm aware that with the amount of comments here it's unlikely many people read this comment, but if any of you would like some things explained, I'd be happy to try my best. p,s, Japanese logo at the beginning was a nice touch. Except, it's spelled ジャックセプ "ティス" アイ and it sounds like Jack-septis-eye (tis as in 'tis in eraly modern English for it's) If it's spelled "ティック" instead, it would sound more like the "tick" sound in English. Sorry for writing a thesis here. Liked the video :)
Graphite's a pretty big deal in Japan, actually. You have to get smaller/sharper lead for your pencils than you do in many other countries in order to write the detailed kanji clearly enough to distinguish. When I started studying Japanese I had to import pencils with tiny lead that also rotated it as you write so it stayed pointy/even on all sides. As for the fridge ones, I believe it might have been activated charcoal, which can be used to absorb smells. You can put it anywhere, but fridges are a good place to absorb smells from.
Answering Jack's question: the commercial featured space dog(a white shiba inu) is for a telecom company in Japan (named Softbank), they have a whole series of commercial featured a dog as "father" of a family (while the rest is human). In the "strong zero" drink commercial, it is not that the drink don't work the guy, he was interrupted by the lady with a question so he can't enjoy the drink. The one that featured Bruce is the government promoting new fuel charges it seems. And yes, don't brush your teeth with that. That's super glue. The boy used graphite to spell out "like/love" in Japanese and put under his arm as a thermometer. And at the end, that line in Japanese writes "Graphite is refill for mechanical pencil". So they are like "oh so we have been using it wrong?!" And the fridge one is selling deodorant for fridges and the product is made of charcoal (a special type that is known to be able to absorb smells). PS I love when Jack mimic the Japanese lines and lyrics.

The dog is the Mascot of Softbank and is called Otou-san, or Dad, pretty werid but adorable. This CM alone doesn't make sense, but this is actually a whole series of CM's about the Dog and his Family. Sadly the dog died recently. (Started Weird but is now adored in Japan.) 3. Galbo Twist. She is singing using onomatopoeia's for Crunchy, crispy and things like that. (Weird, but it gets the point across) 4. Strong Zero, I think It's a Chu-hi, I don't really drink it. The lady I'm assuming is an actress and the guy is her manager. She drinks, she splashes him, he tries to do the same, she interrupts him asking what time tomorrows bullet train is scheduled, and takes another swig. Most likely the splashing is supposed to symbolizing the Fizziness, i don't know. (Weird, but not super weird) 5. Daihatsu Car. I think there was more before this one where they try to make him say that phrase. They offer him tofu, telling him it's low calorie, and low cost. Bruce perks up when he hears Low Cost and says the name of the car, the panel the Businessman is holding shows a litre for 30 kilometers. (Weird, but Japan loves Bruce Willis a lot) 6. Dole Banana. Umm, uhhh, he's a banana man....yeah....The person playing him is a famous Idol though! (Weird, very Weird) 7. SU Super Glue. Something falls off, the girls show up and repeat the name of the super glue, that's about it. Fun fact in Japan we use the name Secchakuzai or Bond.(Not really Weird, straight to the point) 8. Jack was 100% correct, product is Escape room. People getting stuck in walls is an old trope in comedy manga, it also mentions the chance of escaping as 1 out of 10,000. (Not weird at all, using an old trope and is straight to the point.) 9. Pokemon and Trading(?) cable. Simple, girl asks old guys if they want to play pokemon, they ask her who she is. Sadly I can't tell you if she was famous or not I have no idea. After that they show you people young and old playing together, with the text Pokemon Friends. (Weird now, back then? No idea.) 10. Graphite. The narrator says everything before Graphite. Graphite rain, graphite themometer (under the arm), graphite proposal etc. At the end the text is, "※Oh by the way, graphite is Sharp pencil lead." (Not super weird, funny, but not too weird) 11. Kirin Hyouketsu. Ah, yeah cute girls dancing and saying the name of the product. (Not even close to weird) 12. Cup Ramen. This is another series with many different people dancing to the song. This time it is a group of SHOCKERS, villian minions from a popular show called Kamen Rider. Think power rangers, just cooler (Yeah, I went there).Shockers scream, "Ee!!" because they aren't human, the lady Says, "Ii" which means, "Good".(Weird, but more or less people will be able to recognize the characters and get a laugh out of it). 13. Docomo market/Store. This was specifically for the Movies they sell. The song playing in the background says ,"Watch movies on your smartphone!", and that's really it. Not really sure why it's on his arm, not sure why it's a samurai, just not very sure. The guy might be from a drama, or the arm thing may be a refrence to an old jidai-geki, but i don't know. (Weird, mostly relies on momentum, so I wouldn't say it's funny either) 14. Sour gummies named, simply, SOURS . Another CM Series. This is weird, BUT the weirdness tones down a bit when you know the meaning. "Kame" means Turtle but is also one of the onomatopoeia's for chewing, so they are saying, "chew chew SOURS". The outfits look a bit like Villians in tokusatsu shows so I guess that's why there is a Super Sentai like guy there as well. (VERY Weird, but the characters had such an impact we remembered them very easily) 15. Charcoal to absorb smell. She say's it stinks in the fridge and starts searching for charcoal, then she finds it. Thats it. (It's ridiculous, but it's easy to understand it was done to get your attention.) 16. Acuo Mint Gum. Ya know the sound Bruce lee makes, good. The Kachou (Manager) screams, "KACHOU", the text says, "Kachou's suggestion". Repeat for Buchou (Manager in a higher position) . The Younger guy starts losing it, the text says, "Business is a battle". The guy screams, "ACUO" and the text says, "start by changing your breath". (I guess it is a bit weird, Funny more than anything.) 17. Jagariko Potato Snacks. This is a long series of CM's almost all made the same way with a slight change, just different famous people. (VERY Weird to people that don't know the past ones, not too weird too us since we've seen this style for maybe 20 years) 18. Meiji Chocolate. To quote Jack, "I have SO many Questions!" (Weird, very, very Weird.) 19. Pucchin Pudding. The lady is Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, practically our equivalent of Lady Gaga, she's insane and is sickly sweet and cutesy. This was one of the Pudding's 40th anniversary CM's. The old guy probably remembers the Pudding from his childhood, and becomes happy. Not very sure. (Weird, but just like Gaga; when we see Pamyu Pamyu we know we are in for something weird.) Sorry for Such horrendous grammar, I'm not used to typing so much. Since this was almost all off the top of my head, If you want to know something more specifically I can try to find the answer. G'day.

11:47 that's a commercial for a fridge air freshener. It also takes in a gas called ethylene which normally makes it rot faster. The product slows down the rotting process. Like this so jackaboy can see it so it makes more sense.
That's True. We Need More Commercials In The U.S And Other Japanese Traditions In Schools Like Wearing Sailor Uniforms And Black Shirts And Pants With Buttons On The Shirts And Everywhere In The Regions In America.
7:37 "Graphite confession Graphite escaping/ rejection Graphite sad rain Graphite medical attention(?) Graphite glasses Graphite falling in love Graphite confession 2 Graphite falling in love(?) Graphite duet Graphite engagement proposal Graphite "Trying to convince the father to accept their relationship" Graphite "This isn't much but..." gift Graphite "Ok :D" Graphite cutting the marriage cake By the way, Graphite isn't sharp so..." I think this is what it says? I don't speak much japanese so I tried making a most accurate translation... Not sure about the last one tho.
Calvin Freitas Dos Santos Maybe to use the graphite to poison the piece of cake you cut, give it to your enemies and see them eat a piece of cake that has some pencil led having had touched it and see their reaction when you tell them.
In the graphite one, he had the graphite under his arm to take his temperature, as he got sick from being out in the graphite rain. And it's sad that I could make sense of that...
I'm more sad that you couldn't figure out what exactly they were selling. Did they want people to invest more in graphite stock or were they just advertising automatic pencils?
Jack: *Japanese banana commercial comes on* "World's greatest piece of art that has ever been created!" *guy in commercial uses bananas as wings* Jack : *asks like nothing ever happened*
8:52 the graphite isnt IN his arm, its UNDER it. ‘gurafaito taionkei’ means ‘graphite medical thermometer’ (also the “graphite confession” said “suki” or “i like you”)
The one with the girl carrying the fridge is a commercial for refrigerator deodorants. It shriveled up from absorbing the odors so she needs to replenish it. I don’t know Japanese but I’ve seen those and used those in china before.
The reason he had graphite under his arm was that it's a thermometer. Japanese don't like mouth thermometers, because of the whole disease spreading thing, so underarm thermometers are the standard.
12:06, Actually that isn't Graphite, it's Charcoal. In Japan it's common for some Japanese folk to have a block of charcoal in your fridge. Charcoal is actually really good at absorbing odors and is antibacterial keeping your fridge odor free and feeling fresh. need to put fish in the fridge but don't want your refrigerator to smell like fish? Put in a block of charcoal and it'll get rid of the fishy smell. the commercial is for Kokubo Charcoal Refrigerator Deodorizer, the lady was searching for what I assume is their mascot.
Here's what I managed to figure out: 0:56 That's Calbee's (a Japanese snack company) commercial for their "Consomme Punch" flavored potato chips (it says "punch" on the dog collar) 1:52 That's an advertising campaign (for a new smartphone) by the Japanese multinational telecommunications and Internet corporation SoftBank Group Corp. It features the "Shirato Family", which has a white shiba inu (called "Otou-san", meaning "father" in Japanese) as the family father. 2:36 That's an hypnotic chant-jingle for Galbo twist, which is a kind of chocolate snack 3:31 Strong zero is a brand of sweet alcoholic beverages (the alcohol percentage is about 8%). 4:12 This is a commercial for Daihatsu’s Mira e:S (an eco-friendly car). The older man tells Bruce that tofu is healthy for the body, while the younger man adds that it is also low in calories and cheap. Then Bruce makes the connection between tofu (low in calories and reasonably priced) and the Mira e:S, shouting "Daihatsu Mira e:S" because it is an eco-car, light in weight and reasonably priced. 5:02 That's a commercial for the food company Dole, which features a "banana man" (called "Dole man" in the commercial) 5:43 That's a commercial for a super glue called "SU" (so you'd better not brush your teeth with it :P) 6:12 That's a commercial for an escape attraction called "despair fortress" (絶望要塞), from the Fuji-Q Highland amusement park (they say the chances of escaping are one in a hundred thousand). Guests who take on the challenge have to try to work through a labyrinth of countless doors, corridors, and rooms and strict security set up within the fort and make it out within the time limit. 6:55 Yes, that was the first Japanese Pokémon commercial (for Pokémon Red and Green). 7:37 In order, those were a graphite confession (it says "suki" on the paper sheet, which means "like/love"), a graphite goodbye (she says "sorry" and leaves), a graphite rain of sadness (because of the rejection, I guess), a graphite thermometer (that's why it's under his arm; he got a cold from being in the rain), graphite glasses (asking if he's okay), graphite ??? (while smiling, maybe something like "gratitude"), confession number 2, a graphite hit ("hitting" her heart), a graphite duet, a graphite proposal, a graphite paternal opposition, a graphite "this is a boring item, but..." (a default polite phrase when giving a present to someone), a graphite "okay" (accepting the gift), a graphite cake cutting ceremony (at the wedding), ending with "by the way, the grafite has a 'sharp' core" (a hard and thin kind of core). 9:37 Yes, Kirin is an alcoholic beverages company in Japan. 10:02 That's an ad for "Nissin Futomen Dodo" cup noodles; the skeleton guys are the "Shocker" villains from the Kamen Rider series (the ad says you'll be "shocked" by the noodles' taste and thickness). 10:32 That's an ad for a smartphone that lets you watch movies on it ("映画はスマホで" means "(watch) movies on a smartphone"); I think it's from 2012. 11:08 That's for Japanese gummy Sours ("sawazu"). They typically feature "monster turtles" (kaijin kame). 11:34 That's an ad for deodorizing activated charcoal ("sumi"); you can use in your fridge, freezer, produce crisper/drawer, or in places such as kitchen cabinets, shoe cupboards or closets. 12:31 That's an ad for a breath-freshening gum called "acuo" (which the last actor uses as martial arts shout uttered when performing an attacking, aka "kiai"). It starts showing the section chief's plan ("課長案"), then the (opposing) director's plan ("部長案"), and then saying "Business is a battle" (so chewing the gum to freshen your breath would be like preparing for that "battle"). 13:35 That's an ad for Calbee's "jagariko" (a brand of Japanese snacks that are essentially potato chips shaped as thin sticks that are sold in a cup-like package). 14:11 An obvious one, but that's an ad for Meiji's chocolate bars. 15:30 Another obvious one, but that's an ad for Glico's "Pucchin" Pudding ("pucchin" is an onomatopoeia for "snapping", which is the sound you hear when you take it off the package)
I am a PERSON Oh no, that would a terrible name O.o "Pedro" is the Spanish/Portuguese version of "Peter"; the "Stormrage" part is just because I like Malfurion Stormrage :) Writing it didn't really take that long, but the research took about 3 hours (especially because all of the kanji I had to look up) =*
12:00 I don't speak Japanese but I'm pretty sure it was a commercial for a charcoal fridge deodorizer. Her fridge smelled bad so she had to run into the forest (?) to find a replacement charcoal deodorizer. Luckily he was friendly and ready to get to work! I really want one of the Japanese react channels to react to Jacksepticeye reacting to Japanese commercials, that would be hilarious.
We do what we can ;) Also, for people reading this, it would be cool if you went to the second video (titled "FUNNIEST JAPANESE COMMERCIALS | Jacksepticeye's Funniest Home Videos"; just replace the end of the URL with "v=XwyudheQZdI") and approved the subtitles (I've checked them myself recently), so that they could be publicly available (you can check them if you click on "setting -> subtitles -> add subtitles" and then "select language -> English" on that video). I'm glad people seem to have liked this one, but it's really frustrating when they don't get to see them (which is the case of the second video) =* EDIT: The subtitles on the second video are finally up! Thanks, y'all :)
My little sister was just telling me to be quiet because I was being loud and annoying and I was about to say "But, how am I being loud?" When I saw this and just died XD
9:25 Announcer: "By the way, graphite is mechanical pencil lead." (Punchline: They have been using graphite for everything except its intended purpose) Message courtesy of TH-cam captions
The card the dude was handing out in the graphite commercial were the katakana characters for "su" and "ki". Suki is Japanese for "to love" so he was confessing to her.
Graphite confession Graphite goodbye Graphite rain of sadness Graphite thermometer Graphite glasses Girl said are you okay Graphite love Graphite hitting the target Graphite duet Graphite proposal Graphite partneral opposition Graphite is this insignificant but it's a default polite phrase when giving a present Graphite ok Graphite cake cutting ceremony By the way Graphite has a sharp core Graphite cheerleader Graphite falling in love Graphite love confession AND REPEAT
5:45 idk what are why we are buying tooth paste but I don’t care. If a whole cheerleading squad just appears in my backyard i’d be pleasantly surprised!
As a Danganronpa fan, I can tell you all that “Zetsubo” (around 6:38) means despair, which doesn’t make the commercial make any more sense, but the more you know.
To be fair I don't agree with OP that the candy sharing is necessarily the problem. Guess you are right though, we can't assume age of an alien and it also wouldn't be protected by any earth laws.
Cause earth laws usually apply to people and some to animals, the best we have for possible alien interaction is a set of ideas on how to handle first contact and so far they haven't been handled by any authority.
I'm a Japanese and I haven't seen some of the commercials in the video,

I was like wait what? Your heart can’t be in the shape of graphite do you mean made out of graphite Seán?
Lol well.. it's more that there is no "graphite shape" than that he drew the wrong shape.

17. Jagariko Potato Snacks. This is a long series of CM's almost all made the same way with a slight change, just different famous people. (VERY Weird to people that don't know the past ones, not too weird too us since we've seen this style for maybe 20 years)
18. Meiji Chocolate. To quote Jack, "I have SO many Questions!" (Weird, very, very Weird.)
19. (Weird, but just like Gaga; when we see Pamyu Pamyu we know we are in for something weird.)

I back that. It is the only thing I would ever use. You can get it on Amazon. Despite the slightly above average price, it is very good graphite.
Why would you wanna cut a cake with graphite?
Calvin Freitas Dos Santos Maybe to use the graphite to poison the piece of cake you cut, give it to your enemies and see them eat a piece of cake that has some pencil led having had touched it and see their reaction when you tell them.

The reason he had graphite under his arm was that it's a thermometer. Japanese don't like mouth thermometers, because of the whole disease spreading thing, so underarm thermometers are the standard.

14:23 *Law and Order: Special Victims Unit*
12:06, Actually that isn't Graphite, it's Charcoal. In Japan it's common for some Japanese folk to have a block of charcoal in your fridge. Charcoal is actually really good at absorbing odors and is antibacterial keeping your fridge odor free and feeling fresh.
need to put fish in the fridge but don't want your refrigerator to smell like fish? Put in a block of charcoal and it'll get rid of the fishy smell.

Here's what I managed to figure out:
0:56 That's Calbee's (a Japanese snack company) commercial for their "Consomme Punch" flavored potato chips (it says "punch" on the dog collar)
1:52 That's an advertising campaign (for a new smartphone) by the Japanese multinational telecommunications and Internet corporation SoftBank Group Corp. It features the "Shirato Family", which has a white shiba inu (called "Otou-san", meaning "father" in Japanese) as the family father.
2:36 That's an hypnotic chant-jingle for Galbo twist, which is a kind of chocolate snack
3:31 Strong zero is a brand of sweet alcoholic beverages (the alcohol percentage is about 8%).
5:02 That's a commercial for the food company Dole, which features a "banana man" (called "Dole man" in the commercial)
5:43 That's a commercial for a super glue called "SU" (so you'd better not brush your teeth with it :P)
6:12 That's a commercial for an escape attraction called "despair fortress" (絶望要塞), from the Fuji-Q Highland amusement park (they say the chances of escaping are one in a hundred thousand).
Nice.
Muffin of the Morgue Thanks :) There are still a few bits to figure out, but I think these are the gists of each ad.

You’re Welcome Sir.
As a Danganronpa fan, I can tell you all that “Zetsubo” (around 6:38) means despair, which doesn’t make the commercial make any more sense, but the more you know.
14:10 some man in a trench coat found a child and give him candy... I'm worried
I guess Japan doesn't have pedophiles. Must be the low age of consent, or though that shroom boy would be below.
The child is Alien, it’s completely legal. Plus, why would you not share chocolate with everyone?
To be fair I don't agree with OP that the candy sharing is necessarily the problem. Guess you are right though, we can't assume age of an alien and it also wouldn't be protected by any earth laws.
Chris East why wouldn't it? If we were on its planet, we'd want protection.
I'm not an activist, or whatever but still.
Cause earth laws usually apply to people and some to animals, the best we have for possible alien interaction is a set of ideas on how to handle first contact and so far they haven't been handled by any authority.
The only correct way to evolve your Magikarp is to inhale it.
Ash? I just asked what you want to eat..
Still waiting for that "Jacksepticeye's WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?"...
Me too
