കേരളത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യ കപ്പലായിരുന്നു 'എം വി കൈരളി'.. 1979 ജൂലൈ മൂന്നിന് നിഗൂഢതകളും ദുരൂഹതകളും ബാക്കിയാക്കി 49 യാത്രക്കാരുമായി അപ്രത്യക്ഷമായി. കപ്പല്‍ എവിടെപ്പോയി? കപ്പലിലുണ്ടായിരുന്ന ജീവനക്കാര്‍ക്ക് എന്ത് സംഭവിച്ചു? അവരിലാരെങ്കിലും എവിടെയെങ്കിലും ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നോ? ഉത്തരംകിട്ടാത്ത നിരവധി ചോദ്യങ്ങള്‍ മാത്രമാണ് ഇന്നും അവശേഷിക്കുന്നത്.

Thanks for this news. One of my classmates and close friend was one of the sailors son. There were no words to comfort him. Even today I keep enquiring about him because the sorrowful plight and his helplessness because of non governmental support had increased the depth of loss.

The incident happened at a time when the navigation and scanning sensors were not that much advanced as of today. But still not getting any evidence of what happened is doubful...
And Keeping in mind the disappearance of Malaysian flight a couple of years ago in these advanced times where if the flight has fallen into sea it's exact near about location can be found by satelites, such is the technology present today and to think that the search didn't yield any result.......
All the news about these kind of incidents where the agenda and news are controlled by Govts. of Nations inolved and no news against their interest will come out or reach to the public.

സംശയം ഒന്നുമില്ല അത്‌ മുങ്ങിയതാണ്, ബൾക് കരിയർ കപ്പലുകൾക്ക് പൊതുവെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ഒരു കുഴപ്പമാണ് അത്‌. മോശം കാലാവസ്ഥ പലപ്പോഴും അതിന് കാരണമാക്കാറുണ്ട്. പക്ഷെ ഇന്ന് അതിനെ പ്രതിരോധിക്കാൻ പല സുരക്ഷാ സംനാഹംങ്ങളും ഉണ്ട്‌. മിക്കതും തൊണ്ണൂറുകൾക്ക് മുൻപാണ് ഇതുപോലുള്ള സംഭവങ്ങൾ ഒരുപാടു ഉണ്ടായിട്ടുണ്ട്. കപ്പൽ മുങ്ങാൻ രണ്ടോ മൂന്നോ മിനിട്ട് മാത്രം മതി. ജീവനക്കാർക്ക് രക്ഷപെടാനുള്ള സാധ്യത വിരളമാണ്. ഇന്നും വളരെ അപൂർവമായി ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള സംഭവങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാകാറുണ്ട്.
