Unfortunately, the unilateral decision of Guyana and Exxon without taking into account Venezuela to exploit energy resources in a disputed territory is leading us to a scenario of conflict very quickly. Venezuelans are people of peace but we are also determined to assert our rights even If that means going to war, the most sensible thing is for Exxon to sit down and talk with Venezuela and find common agreements that lead to the prosperity of all parties. The path of dialogue is better than the fire of weapons.

I agree that Guyana will have the infrastructures. Guyanese at large will not benefit. There are problems with a work force and immigration-slavery and indenture-ship of the modern era will occur. Businesses will invest because of cheap power. Metals and materials will be made which will drive manufacturing. I expect the Chinese to benefit from import of Chinese labor into Guyana. Guyanese will not work for cheap wages and Guyanese are not in those numbers. It can be predicted Guyanese will be overwhelmed all around.
Ali should be more concerned about the realties in Guyana. The PPP should develop for the Guyanese people and not for attracting businesses in a large scale-immigration will be a problem. Both Indians and Blacks would not want to minimize.
The PPP have embarked with giving away large acreage of lands to foreigner and yet bull dozes citizens homes considered squatting. Titles are given to some but no basic necessities follows.
They lack a plan for improving the lives of the current citizens. Instead, they are bypassing them for a future that leave the current citizens in their present state.
