    I'm buying it in automatic. We have the worst traffic in LA and a manual is just a no go on a daily basis especially after a long shift. 3-4 hr. traffic is just insane in a manual on a daily basis.

    I have one and its fun, but I find the styling way too busy. These days, automatics are so good that fuel economy is no longer an advantage or the manual, though I'd never get one with an automatic. Totally agree that not having a body color lip at the bottom is a miss - its like the front spoiler got smashed off or something. I find the wheels fussy, and should be a more classic 5 spoke rally wheel instead of something you'd see on a luxury car (easy to change though). They need to be black though as a the brake dust is extreme and its not so noticeable on the black wheels. I do like the new front end (for the most part) and side vents. One odd choice is the rear logo looks like the obvious point where the latch release should be (e.g. VW), especially with that cutout, but they have it at the bottom lip - seems like an odd design choice. The 3 cyl is just fine. You'd never know it was a 3 cyl just driving it though it has nowhere near the tunability of the VW/Audi E888 and is quite thermally "fragile", hence the sub radiator which should be standard not optional. Nothing was mentioned about the rear diff clutch pack which on the current ones cuts out very quickly on track - wonder if that's been improved, or at least the temp threshold on the sensor raised? With The Golf going auto only next year, looks like Toyota will inherit the entire market for this kind of car - if only they could produce more of them! I'll probably get another one in 26'

    • @spinnetti

      @@spinnetti There have been no radiator related cooling issues though, the cooling issues have been oil related so improving the oil cooler and rear diff cooling would have been an area to work on. I love manual transmissions, and I love the rush of using the clutch with shifting. There are always going to be some advantages in how manual cars feel as opposed to an automatic.
    However, I've always loved paddle shifters. Every time I feel those behind the steering wheel of a car, it produces a certain aura within the cabin. I feel invigorated and "giddy" as a kid eyeballing sweets in the candy store window. Even before starting a car with paddle shifters, the excitement for me begins. Ever since I was a child, I've always enjoyed the Formula 1 steering wheel design and layout, and that paddle-shift feature allows me the opportunity to capture some of that racing essence in my own driving experience.
    Call me a dork for enjoying paddle shifters, but at least they offer me a chance to embrace the nostalgia of my childhood dream along with the "rush" factor of the feeling of near-professional levels of racing equipment.

    • @SALEENS7GTR5
      @SALEENS7GTR5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have a manual sportscar and an auto daily, but sold the daily for a better one, which I'm still deciding on getting, so I'm currently dailying my manual with aftermarket track parts.
      It's not fun. It's lame to start-stop and aggressively jockey others for traffic position just trying to go to and from places and have to spam the clutch and shifter all day.
      But, I have parts for more track time, and have meets/shows I like to go to occasionally. So, I can have fun in the car when the situation calls for it. All other times, in this carcentric world, auto for me. I would take the train everyday to work/stores/recreation if I had one near me to avoid driving at all.

    Please ask these questions next time you are near a Toyota representative to see if we can have the answers:
    No center console arm rest and or storage space yet? The excuse was that it was a manual transmission only car. What's the excuse this time? And when will they get rid of the dust and fingerprints collecting piano black interior parts? Did they already fixed the infotainment issues? What about the hidden tracking and information sending computer that sends information without your knowledge to Toyota, dealerships and insurance companies? When will the steering wheel can be telescoped and tilt further upwards and towards the driver? When will they use bigger brakes at the back? I find it abnormal and asymetrical that manufacturers pay too much attention to the front brakes when is always better to have a rear-bias braking balance for both hard cornering and extensive use. Is the trunk space enhanced? Why they don't give us the motor with at least 100 HP more and 105 more torque for a more rounded number of 400 and call it the 400 edition? (I call dibs if they really make this one)

      The auto is faster and at the end of the day I'd rather have the faster car with a free hand for chicken nuggets. As someone who's raced a manual GR Corolla in my tuned Lexus it was really funny to hear them miss second and fade away behind me.

    Hope the 25 is of better quality. I own a GRC 23. In less than 25k miles my 4 tires became uneven. The brakes don’t respond, at first pedal action, during pouring. And my front rotors are warped, with an estimated replacement cost of $2.7K dollars.
