It is the LOTR. He’s a fan of many of the hobbit stories and music. The Last Goodbye and I See Fire are others he has covered. Great reaction as usual.
He is so self-aware to a level not seen almost anywhere. He takes the steps to do all things right and it shows. Such determination to be his personal best is freaking inspiring. Now THAT is a role model.

This was a great cover by Dan. Blind Guardian is an awesome power metal band out of Germany. The lead singer Hansi Kursch is one of the singer that Dan admires and has studied.

I had never read or seen the movies of “The Hobbit” or “LOTR” until I heard Dan’s cover of “The Last Goodbye”. I loved the song and then I loved the movies! Dan has a way of sharing a whole new world with us!! 🎶💕
You don't know Blind Guardian? Well, you're in for an epic journey. They're one of those classic power metal bands that just started to get a foothold on US shores after the internet and the reaction channels. They've been around since '84 and have a big connection to fantasy literature, especially Tolkien, one of their albums is all stories from the Silmarillion.
As a guitarist, you'll love this band. Marcus is one of the very best rythm guitarists in the business and Andre is a fantastic solo player, a master of the Wha, sometimes is as if he was playing one and a half instruments. The usual point of entry is The Bard's Song and Valhalla at Wacken, but if you want something shorter, Mirror Mirror live will do.

I think you've seen Fearless perform before. If not, be sure to check them out in *Dawn of Victory* with Dan & Fabio Lione. Plus, on top of that phenomenal speed metal song, Fearless has out an album with their own songs on it, a concept metal album called Chronicles of Ancient Wisdom. They take us along on a great adventure!

At the end, I realized what you meant, about "the band," at the beginning. Blind Guardian has their own YT channel (just search for their name). They have a TON of REALLY good stuff from their albums on there.
I had already written the following section before I realized what you meant. I left it in, for those who don't yet know about Dan FEARLESS (Dan and Davi's band)...

First of all, Spyglass Inn isn't a band. It's simply an acoustic project concocted by Dan and Gabriel, wherein they focus on folk, medieval, and fantasy-themed songs.
Dan and Davi (Dah-VEE) Vasconcelos (Vasc) are the two who lead their actual band, which is named FEARLESS. Their two (literally) lifelong friends who are the other two members of FEARLESS, are Gabriel Belozi (whom you see here, with Dan) on guitar (any type of guitar) and Giovanni Rezende on drums (FABULOUS). Davi, Gabriel, and Gio also have their own YT channels. Dan and Davi both write lyrics for their (FEARLESS) originals, and all four of them have input into the original music, itself. Their existing 12-track album is "Chronicles of Ancient Wisdom" which is biblically-based, with a Tolkien-like journey through time. We've heard, for a while, that there WILL be another original album, but nobody seems to know when it will happen.
In FEARLESS, Davi plays bass, but he can also play several other instruments, plus he writes OSTs for video games. You can purchase his lovely FULL OST for the game Coromon, on Bandcamp. Both he and Dan play harmonica, and they both have a supply of them, since their dad used to play. Davi says that when Roberto decided to get a new harmonica (or new type of harmonica), he would often pass the older ones on to the boys. Dan also plays a bit of keys and guitar, but mostly when you hear those instruments in a song he has produced, he will have used MIDI tracks for most of the background music -- unless he has guest musicians (like Victor the Guitar Nerd or Garrett J. Peters, for instance, or sometimes one or more of the FEARLESS group).
The Spyglass Inn project (which only, at this point in time, holds three videos in its Playlist) only includes acoustic background music -- no matter how it's produced.
Dan has covered more than one "Lord of the Rings" songs -- from both those movies and "The Hobbit." "I See Fire," is one of them. He and Davi really love Tolkien. 😀
This particular one is the track from the movie(s) that is NOT the theme song. It's simply called "The Lord of the Rings," or "I'll Keep the Ring." Dan used the Blind Guardian band's version as his model for this video. If you hear a couple of inserted lines that you don't recognize, it's because this particular version is just slightly different than all of the other versions that are available.

I love those opening chords in this version, too -- especially in the so-very-capable hands of Gabriel. I also agree about Dan's "chameleon-like" ability to change the whole way he sounds. If not watching him in a video, you very definitely might think there's someone else singing those very different parts. That's definitely an aspect of the fascination of Dan Vasc.
To me, that rhythmic change you noticed (thank you) always foretells the quickening of the heartbeat, just before the donning of the ring and the disappearing act. 😀
Well done, Corey! I wouldn't worry about not remembering everything there is to know about all of the Tolkien tales regarding The Lord of the Rings. You're definitely not the only one in that boat. Going back and reading again, and/or watching the movies again, would always be a good thing, though! 😉😊
