Awww you love running in the rain! Wish I'd felt like that on the day! 😂 So lovely that you had support on route and nice to see your pre race journey 🤗 Congratulations on your run 🎉
Thanks for the shout out mate! It was a hell of a day. Congrats again, and it’s great to see your footage of the finish. Hope we can run another one together soon.
@@davidgillespie4659 I loved the rain but the breeze along the coast was brutal 🥵 how did your run go in the end mate? The sun was definitely a factor in the later stages. But I enjoyed some of the walk having a chat with others walking and saying hello to some spectators dogs haha it was a great time.
@@timothytrewin you know I thought the wind was going to be really bad when we first turned onto the coast but I’ll be honest never noticed it too much, I was really suprised to hear quite how bad it was on your video! It actually went really well thank you for asking, set out with sub 4 in mind and finished in 3:58, managed to stick to quite a strict pace, but it was extremely hard at the end, absolutely hated the bit on the gravel at about 18 miles. Hahaha I honestly really wanted to stop to see the dogs, the crowd considering the weather was amazing. Do you have anything planned for after this?
Also just noticed at 9:18 there’s a couple of marines running in full kit on the other side of the road, I finished at the same time as them, nothing quite as humbling as finishing beside a couple of lads in boots 😂
Thanks man appreciate it 🙏 yeah it was just there the breeze wasn't it.. didn't really feel that strong but it was enough of a resistance to destroy you all the way out 😅 great running!! Good work! Any other events coming up for you?
@@Guybrush99 I'm looking at the Scottish half again last year I gassed it there for like 1:35 because of the wind on the coast again 😂 but next marathon maybe chester 👀. Man you'll give sub90 a good go for sure! Have you ran sub90 before?
@@timothytrewin no, 1:30:10 is my pb for a half 😂. I was 1:36 at half way through marathon so shouldn’t be too far away. I thought about Scottish half, but though it was too soon after Marathon, wanted a good bit of recovery before a decent training block. Heard Chester is a good one.
@@Guybrush99 oh man that's so close 😫 you'll definitely be able to take some minutes off that ☺️ id like to try break 1:25 at some point haha. Yeah having some good rest from the marathon and a good training block for Glasgow you'll be ready 💪 yeah chester looks decent but still not sure on what distance I want to attack for the later half of the year.
Thanks man, yeah it was brutal haha I walked like 10mins of the race so tbh I'm pretty happy with how I did. But I know I'm capable of so much better and it's a huge learning experience. Thanks man inspired by yourself and other runners posting I thought I'd share my journey as well ☺️ appreciate you checking out the video 🙏
Epic mate! Well done on the PB that's a great time! What camera did you take in the end? I'm still working on my vlog but will hopefully be up very soon 🙂
Thanks mate I appreciate it 🙏 can't wait to see your video! I took the insta360 x2 with no selfie stick, it was okay but the footage isn't as good as with the selfie stick but id rather that then none at all ☺️ and I'm not carrying the selfie stick for 26.2😂
@@RunEdinburgh yeah it works okay just have to edit it a bit different and you don't get the same perspective and good views but it's okay. I was happy with getting some race footage anyway.
Great job man! ❤ The conditions were horrendous 😂 My whole right leg cramped just after half way and my feet were drenched in blood, ended up finishing in 3:41:29 after shuffling to the finish 😅 We'll get it next time!
Bro it was into the wind the whole race 🥵 amazing work to go on to finish man 💪 would have been good to meet you on the day! If you're from Edinburgh will have to run a race together at some stage 👊
@@timothytrewin Yeah when we got to the waterfront I was like ohhhh nooooo haha I looked out for you but there was so many people it was wild! I'm from Glasgow but easy enough to get to Edinburgh, we'll defos get something sorted broski 🙌 Congratulations again, a PB on a day like that is a great run 🤘
@@ryanpatterson2830 thank you man 🙏 appreciate the support! Hope your recovery goes well bro. I learnt a few things from that race and look forward to sharing in a video!

Of course mate! Amazing running and definitely in better conditions you'd smash that 3hr barrier! We need to run another for sure!
Goosebumps watching that! That last bit with the crowd was absolutely incredible, really pulled me through at the end.
Hope you enjoyed the video☺️ that finishing crowd is just so amazing isn't it!
@@timothytrewin I did thank you, well done on an incredible run, the conditions were so tough, rain, wind and I managed to also get some sunburn.

Aw love this - you did so amazing out there , it definitely wasn’t ideal conditions but so proud of you!
Thanks so much 🙏 couldn't do it without your endless support ❤️🥰
Well done, great video of the end! That breeze def made it a lot harder. I started cramping up @ 22 miles, 😂Was on for a 3:19 ended up at 3:24.

Would you rather do a marathon in scorching heat or rainy weather like this?
100% Rainy weather for me! My running suffers big-time in warm weather 😂 how about yourself?
