      I enjoy the 144010 but I am not positive I would recommend it for a beginner. The speed and short wheel base definitely raises the difficulty level of driving it.

      I bought the Hyper Go H16sc on your recommendation and it’s awesome! So awesome! I haven’t had a RC car since I was a kid and this thing blew my mind on how fast AND durable it was. I took it to a dirt track and put it though it’s paces. Through leaves, dirt, mud and many tumbles, this car doesn’t stop! You definitely hit the mark on the recommendation for a beginning RC car AND Amazon had a 40% off digital coupon for it so I paid $70 USD after tax. So glad I checked out your video first. I’ll be sure to subscribe and watch your other videos. Thank you!

    For anyone interested in getting into trailing and crawling you should try the RGT 136161. It has a 370 motor with gear reduction. a 3S capable Hobbywing ESC, Dumbo RC transmitter/receiver and lights controller for only 100€. with a few free mods it is also a very capable crawler.

    I think the HBX 16889A Pro is better deal when on sale vs the MJX Hyper GO.I don't think someone will care about a "smart stuff" and a gps on a model of that scale it, only makes the model cost more $$$.They should made this optional and put brushless system and maybe then it can compete with the HBX models.And none tested it for a longer time hard bashing it to see how is the durability and the plastic quality of the MJX parts. You should do brushless conversion and maybe put better tires on the MJX to see how it performs then since a lot of people will be interested in this i guess since the efficiency of the brushless is superb compared to the brushed and also we gonna see what options we have if we get one and want to convert it, and give it hard bash.

    • @darkki94

      Agreed HBX 16889A Pro is just a better car all around. Maybe not a pretty but better. That GPS is useless on a car that does so slow. He said speed runs but there is only 1 car on the list that is good for speed runs and everyone know it.

Will run it in the grass & Sand just for fun with my 10 year old daughter, hence why I don't need something i can't control, any thoughts? Not looking to spend more than $250

    Tried many but nothing gets close to the reliability and fun factor of the 16889. Liked the brushed version so much that already ordered the brushless version pro. Even stock brushed with aftermarket oil shocks and a simple 20c 1600mah 2s lipo becomes a little beast. After 6 months, only the shell has a small hole and a suspension arm loose a nuckle (repaired with a piece of plastic!) for those like me that love rc cars but don't want to spend too much time on repairs and mainly not spend hundreds on batteries, parts and topend brand cars, this 1/16 is amazing and can be transported anywhere in a backpack!

    • @beyondRC
      @beyondRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      exactly the reason why its always on my top 5/10 lists! Awesome little truck

    • @beyondRC
      @beyondRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @ Larger wheels, more ground clearance and in my opinion/experience more durable. The 144001 once set up is exceptional for the money and is a great platform for upgrades and converting to brushless at a later stage! Both excellent options if looking for skatepark/off road fun then the 16889 is a good choice. Speed runs/General bashing on less harsh terrain with some small jumps then 144001 is a solid choice just get some 2200mah batteries and you will have lots of fun! The 144002 again a very solid truck with lots of metal components but more expensive than the 16889. I have reviewed the 104002 on my channel so check it out! Cheers

    My son has a load of the cheaper $40-80USD cars from the likes of Walmart etc and while I'm not into them now I remember years ago when I was 20 (2002) getting a proper entry level truck by Traxxas call the rustler for $150USD and it was fast and had proper suspension..
    My son things the bigger monster truck type rc cars from Walmart with the stryofoam wheels are cool because theyre big..
    He drives them well, he is 7 and my dilemma is spending a few hundred dollars on a decent entry level car
    I should digress that we live in the woods in the country in the USA and he has been wanting a gas powered kids sized ATV a real one to ride which would cost about $1,000 so spending two to three hundred dollars would not be too far fetched instead of spending a thousand on a ATV for this time on Christmas
    I know for certain the cheap RC cars I had as a kid compare to that Traxxas were no match, even has a young adult I had a blast with it.
    That 1st one was fking fast as tits, at least way faster than the current RC cars my son has..

    I would swap number 4 and 1 around. 16889A Pro is the better car for sure. Exchanging GPS for brushless electronics since that GPS is useless on a car that does 40km/h . If you want speed 144001/124019/124017 are the real contenders .

    • @beyondRC
      @beyondRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      for sure man I agree and I am also all about speed. This video is intended for total noobs in the RC hobby and speed isn't always a good thing for beginners as they will break stuff easily compared to a brushed setup. Only reason the 16889 is further down the list!

    • @darkki94
      @darkki94 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@beyondRC yea i agree that speed in not always needed, but 16889 is not even that fast just better run time because of the more efficient motor. It's not like a 144010/124017 that do 90km/h on 3S and can hurt someone if crashed.

    Well, guess i gotta be the first then. I don't like the SG1603.
    Had it for a while now but never really really used it. Tested a few batteries indoors but even with my very limited drift experience it was pretty meh. Steering was instantly an issue with the servo not centering, took everything apart to make sure it was the servo and not something binding (many people on quadify reporting the same problem). That combined with open diffs, yeah pretty meh.
    Finally took it outside last week on some semi-fresh tarmac. First had a blast with a 1/10 noob drifter even tho it blew out both one way bearings. Then switch to the sg1603 but all it did was bounce. Gyro was doing something but so inconsistent it was pretty much useless. This made the driving experience no fun but to make it worse i noticed that when going a bit further out it would not release the throttle when i did, so i test...and indeed, not even 10 meters out and it just kept going even tho i released the throttle, at which point i instantly stopped knowing i would probably just end wrecking the thing from frustration. Totally useless!
    Maybe i got unlucky with the electronics, maybe it needs a different surface...i'll probably just sell it and get a HBX 2188a.
    The 901a pro however, man that thing is a beast. 50+ bashes and all i broke is 1 CVD pin. Well and the body would be totally wasted if not for drywall tape/shoegoo reinforcement. Not putting that one #1, but having some clone as #1 makes me think it might have something to do with you being sponsored by them...

    Team Associated Rival MT10, one of the best beginner and cheapest RTR kit. Not mentionned here...

    • @beyondRC
      @beyondRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good point but...
      1) I said at the start of the vid that the list consists of cheaper Chinese branded cars.
      2) Many beginners wont want to or be able to afford £289.99 / $363 for the MT10
      3) I dont feel brushless is ideal for absolute beginners just starting out in the hobby
      4) A decent 2s / 3s & Charger adds to the over all price bringing it closer to 400+
      I agree its a great truck and I have one myself and if budget is no issue then perfect but 95% of beginners I have come across start out cheap and work up. Just my opinion. This hobby is for everyone and the Chinese stuff is the perfect entry point.
      Cheers

    • @vincentparrilla5408
      @vincentparrilla5408 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@beyondRC Most of these Chinese stuff are to squishy for being real good basher or even TT. Most of them will finish as parking lot racers or eventually clean dirt tracks. Better for a beginner to spend a bit more for a toy like I mention than those things. It's a bit more expensive but it's a better investment. I say that but I say too that I like these Chinese things but they aren't enough strong sadly. And parts are sometimes a pain in the a** to get.

    • @beyondRC
      @beyondRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed. But it's like any hobby. People tend to spend less and see if they like it before splashing the cash. I would choose to spend a bit more personally if just starting out again but I have to cater to the audience. 100% agree with you though dude

    • @vincentparrilla5408
      @vincentparrilla5408 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@beyondRC Some WLToys are very decent. With real dampers and whole steel shafts. You have to count around 500€ when you go into RC cars for the first time in my opinion. When I was kid everyone was calling RCing : Toys for rich. And sadly it's not better still nowadays. But if you take card of your car. You won't need to spend lot of money afterwards. Still when I was kid. When was all dreaming of a brushless. That's why I don't understand why beginners should avoid it when his tolerance is really bigger than brushed. That globally doesn't need maintenance and they have their own fan on ESC for most of them. And cheap nowadays not like 15 years ago.

    My advise is dive right in with the fastest MOST EXPENSIVE car you can buy - the better car you start with, the more fun you'll have - and the longer it'll last. Buy an Xmax or Arrma Kraton 8s if you can afford it. Just my opinion is all

      It’ll cost the most, go the fastest, and when you run it into a tree, it will hurt the most 😂

      To be honest, there's a reason im looking for expensives rc cars, i don't have that much money saved for one, you can also have fun with other cheap beginner rc cars

      Expensive rc cars for beginners? What!? No you should always start with ones that are in price range and not over 30 mph. The reason is because fast rc cars for beginners make the car easier to break because of how fast it is. So I’m not sure your statement is valid.

    I guess I'm confused why you didn't wait to review the 144010 before this video? It's a 2022 release no? Lol! For 130 bucks (equal to your number one) it destroys everything in this list 😂

      Good for an absolute beginner never tried RC before? Being brushless and pretty quick/powerful? This list is for people who have never picked up a controller before 👍

      what is the difference from that and the 144001 besides the brushless motor?

    Nah it's better to spend more and get a decent name brand RC that has good parts availability. The cheap chinese no name RCs are slowly ruining the hobby. If someone wants a lower priced RC, go with something from Tamiya.
