I experienced so much madness in my earlier career actually believing that HR was there to support the employees. The first time my manager outright admitted that she didn’t like me and discriminated against me because I was Black. HR told me to work harder to get along with my manager. I applied for another position and changed managers. Hindsight I should have had a recorder, attorney and sued. The next time a man on the job physically groped me. HR told me I should have confronted him and I was being too nice. When he went on to make suggestive s€xual comments to whyte women he was fired. What I learned is not to go to HR unless you’ve consulted with an attorney or consultant like yourself because they will spin the facts and blame you.

@@theantihr I actually am. I realized I need to earn more income toward retirement and SS to live comfortably without having to work into my 70’s and 80’s. Working now in manufacturing (production) and while I like the anonymity and minimal “office politics”, I don’t think it’s the right choice for me. Exploring other options as well. Thanks for your support.
Yes ... I live in the Pacific Northwest..... You should see the looks and the stares when I put on my red lipstick!!!!..... The whole office mood changes when I wear makeup. They love to ask me if I'm sure I can handle it LOL. My reply is what makes you think I can't? ( Blank face, no emotion). I listen to them stutter and find excuses while I remain completely silent listening. I've been told that I act Superior. My reply was I am. I wouldn't be where I am if I wasn't.
❤❤❤❤❤❤Yess 👋🏾. Thank you for sharing that blessed melanated Queen. I get sooo happy and satisfied when i see or hear a black person speaking like you and having the best interest of black people in mind.
Excellent. Besides your spotless communication style, delivery is heightened by context and generalizability as well as authenticity and smarts. I sent this vid to a childhood friend who at the end of her public sector career is being targeted. While I am not an HR pro, I have experienced and observed things in my diverse career. Several weeks ago, my friend came to me to share her story. She’d been acting a little off course before and I had sensed something was wrong. Out established pattern over many years informed me I needed to increase contact with her. She cried and so did I. First, she is widely acknowledged as 😊. She’s at retirement age. Anyhow, when she sees this, she will think I had just talked to you before she revealed her story. Your vid moved me. Thanks and I’ll be subscribing, viewing and sharing your link.
I definitely have experienced micro aggression from my white co workers. But I hate to say this.I experienced more from my black female coworkers! Especially if they were the only one and then another one came in.Then now you have this competition.
@@theantihr I know, it's why you are empowering others. I can tell. You don't want us to go through that. I wish I had seen this a year ago. Mine was false HR reports. It made me so paranoid. Many of us have too many experiences to count. Racism, being a close relative of narcissism, doesn’t belong either. What I’m going through now is, despite being considered a high performer, my boss has looked for someone to “help” me, for the past few years. But? Most of those people either quit or were let go, as they were actually an utter skills mismatch or weren’t doing the work. My boss finally hit pay dirt, with someone, at the end of the lockdown and, since then, they’ve been receiving 90% of the work. My boss has been careful with this likely quiet firing practice, as I believe it’s also happening to a white member, on our team. In addition, this person who I am “mentor/helping” is Asian. Other than that, there has been the one off statements of maybe I could pass for Middle Eastern, which I responded I was content and that my base makeup made me look darker, as if I didn’t know what I was doing, when I actually want it to be darker, as it gives me a warmer complexion. My boss was at the ready however, to be angry, when I called a white coworker racist, although my boss fired her, over what she’d said about Chinese people, in a meeting. And, you know they know what they’re saying, when they say you’re articulate, because look at the eyes, when you tell them they are, too. Even received that “compliment” from black, female executive once. It is not only in the office, as you know, that this occurs, however. The white employee, who could not possibly be racist, because they have a black person in their family. The neighbor, who is treating you like a slave they own, but couldn’t possibly be racist, because they’re married to a black man. The neighbor who isn’t just asking, but determined you’ll be their daughter’s nanny. Office or elsewhere, one doesn’t minimize the other. No wonder I’m an introvert and misanthropist.
I believe I experienced microaggression. Because a regular employee telling others (in my working space blatantly talking & laughing at me) that he never heard anyone from my state with my accent. Other employees believed him! I did not know how to react tactfully so I said nothing. I believe he was male LGBTQ. I was a temp worker, too. I believe that a fake excuse was concocted in order to place me on a DNR list because the staffing manager believed what an employee said about my accent.😳🙄 It sounds unusual and it is! When people have a problem with others receiving unwanted attention, over trivial things, it's diffcult to prove for sure.
I sent you a message on one of your post. How can I gift your services to a client? I was about to fill out your appointment schedule on the website and pay for it but you’ve made it clear a third party should not be completing your questionnaire. So, how can I pay you directly to gift it for my client?
This is a great question and I will have to give it some thought. But currently there is not a way for one person to gift a discovery call to another. I’m thinking of offering gifts certificates but that’s not set up yet so currently there is not that option. Sorry.
what if there is no HR. A woman i know is living in an intentional community of volunteers and her housing is wrapped up in the discrimination. they are trying to unhouse her. what kind of attorney might handle that?
