Great video. I'm actually running this again for the 3rd time with some new players. Using Matthew Perkins approach to it and really liking it simplified. My PC's are going to rescue a little girl barmaid they became friends with at the Stonehill. One of my players gave her 100gp to help her out and the Redboys kidnapped her for the gold. They're gonna be kicking the door down tonight when we play to rescue poor Lanar.

When I ran this for the first time, the Black Spider went down quickly in an anticlimactic boss fight. So, I beefed him up. Next time, I will add actions as suggested by Matt Colville in one of his monster design videos.
Matt Colville's Action-Oriented Monsters are SO cool - you're going to LOVE them! There's an entire subreddit for them I believe if you want to check them out :)
I made him turn into a Drider. He made Nundro use the forge and combined himself with his giant spider pet. It turned into an epic showdown with them bringing a stalagmite down one him spinning him while the barbarian separated his body from the spider.
What confuses me looking at the map is that it seems it wants you to progress from where you enter towards the trapped hallway, but the only way forward from the entrance is through the secret door to where the tunnel comes in. The way I read the map is that the only way of even getting to the trapped hallway is going through the rooms between the trapped hallway and the tunnel entrance in reverse. Am I missing something?
It's a little tricky, but there's a door hiding in plain sight in between the northern stairs in Area 1 - the boxed text in the adventure points it out as well. Unfortunately the map's legend doesn't point out that these ARE doors that can be opened, leading to some potential confusion.
Definitely confused me the first few times I looked at the map, so not to worry!
In my campaign the Blackspider is a drow outcast that was banished by the reverand mother for having an affair with her sister. Now he wants to conquer and enslave his former home as he is a major sleezebag.
