    I just got mine - for a 2011 Mazda3 - the head unit install was just as easy as yours. I have a different reverse camera so I am still deciding where to mount that. But I am very impressed so far - the packaging was professional looking and well designed to keep the contents safe. The fir of the head unit on mine is flawless - no gaps. And the audio, while not Audiophile standard (which is irrelevant because the factory Bose speakers are such absolute garbage) is at least as good as the factory head, if not better. Amplifier technology really has come a long way. Android Auto seems a little slow to connect sometimes, but I am still figuring out all the connection default - so that may be my fault. So far I am super impressed and the unit make this old car feel brand new.

    I have a Mazda 3 SkyActiv 2012. I upgraded to this unit. One thing I found is there was a 12+ volt pigtail coming out of the back of the head unit to provide power to the backup camera. No need for the splicing.
    Other then that, everything works great. I removed mu 12 volt cig adapter and replaced it with usb plugs. I can now plug usb drives or phone cables directly (and cleanly) to the head unit. Looks and works great!

      Nice to know. Maybe I should have found that 12 volt pigtail off the back of the head unit. that would have made life easy. Still not a bad use of an afternoon to get in there and wire it up. Love that backup camera now.

    Man what are the odds! I just imported myself a 2013 Mazda3 Sedan a week ago and I've been on the fence of this exact model for weeks now! Are you happy with the Eonon? Is the update available for all or did you have to request it? How's the phone/call quality with Android Auto? Overall what are your thoughts? Thanks for the video, I'll be either purchasing or skipping this based on your feedback :-)

    • @GoodmorningGoodnight
      @GoodmorningGoodnight  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Here's the deal. Phone Audio quality is good. Screen quality is great. It turns on fast and it's mostly reliable. But I did have an issue where it crashed on me when I was switching from Android Auto to the radio. And then I had to use the reset button for 10 seconds with a small pin to reset it. That was annoying. But besides this it's been very good. The sound quality has been as good or better than stock. And I've been happy with it, especially for the price. The updates were automatically downloadable ones I tethered to my phone hotspot. I talked to EONON about the time that it crashed and they said that I could upgrade the firmware. Apparently that is an upgrade that isn't done over the web. I haven't done it yet because it hasn't crashed again. But if it does they sent me a link to upgraded firmware that I can install. So overall it's like 7 out of 10. It's pretty good. I would recommend it, Even though it's not perfect

    Thanks for sharing! Does the center channel & sub still work?

    • @GoodmorningGoodnight
      @GoodmorningGoodnight  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes! Both work. Infact I find the sound to be way better because it gives you a full multiband EQ and individual cut offs for sub frequencies and loudness toggles and bass boost and other options to adjust.
      I'm very happy with the sound if mostly because I was pretty unhappy with the Bose system that was in the car from stock. It just didn't have any guts to it. Even though this new head unit doesn't have a terribly large amplifier, it has so much adjustability on the EQ that it allows you to dial in a much better overall sound, and I can actually hear the bass coming out of the Bose subwoofer in the trunk finally.
      For context, the original stock system from Mazda only had plus and minus for bass and plus and minus for treble. And had no individual subwoofer adjustability

    • @GoodmorningGoodnight
      @GoodmorningGoodnight  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes. You have to screw in the GPS receiver if you want it to work independently. What I mean by that is if you're using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, it'll actually pull the GPS data from your phone directly. So it's not relying on the GPS antenna to the rear of the head unit. But if you want to operate the head unit independently without your phone or without Apple CarPlay or without Android Auto, relies on the GPS receiver plugged into the rear. To get that to operate you need a cell SIM into the plug on the back of the unit.
      So all in all the GPS receiver on the back of the unit doesn't get used in my instance very much because I'm just relying on the Android auto which pulls the GPS data from the phone directly
