Thanks David. I love this part of town, much more chilled than the city centre but still with everything you need on your doorstep. 11 months and counting until I retire and start looking for a nice place in Pratumnak to enjoy a life of leisure. 😀
i stayed in the small gated townhouses you can just about see on your left @19.50 for a few months. Was a nice place to live and had a regular taxi guy to get in to town. Best thing was the Russian gogo girls living across the road who would lie by the pool all day getting an all over tan!! I did a lot of swimming lol
Great video David. So much great information. Love this area more and more as time goes by. FX hotel top of Soi 4 around 1,000/ night with breakfast, very good value, decent small pool. Irish Wolfhound bar opposite I was in a few weeks back with friends having a few drinks and they ordered some Thai food from there as well. Went and got them some green mango and the lady said we had to pay a cover charge for eating that in there. They can ram any custom from me again. Those new places on Soi 4 seem very popular. Went down the other evening and a really good vibe. Old Rogues one of my goto places for Thai and western food. And shows all the Sport. Great place. Catflaps well worth a visit. One of the best looking GCs around. VN garden restaurant as you say , a hidden gem. I enquired at the Sirin hotel/condo when I first came. Wanted around 40,000 a month!
Over the last two years…I decided to retire in Pattayya…but did not want to live in chaotic downtown Pattaya…had to decide between Pratumnak and Jomtien…finally decided on Jomtien for a few reasons: Heard many complaints about noisy and vicious Soi Dogs in Pratumnak. 2) Loved the Baht Bus…I ride a motorbike…but it is great to take a 10 or 20 baht bus ride to downtown Pattaya for a few drinks and a convenient way to get back home. 3) the Beach is better at Jomtien….Pratumnaks Cosy beach is a hike down steps and back again!. 4) Too many Russians in Pratumnak. 5) Lots of night life in Jomtien to match Pratumnak and Pattaya! 6) everything is walking distance or a quick cheap baht bus ride in Jomtien. LOVE Jomtien!
@@allanwatts8361 Australia…like many other countries has a “no dual tax” agreement with Thailand. So we do not pay tax to Thailand on income brought “from Australia” “to Thailand.”
I hear you, not too sure on the Russians though, I went Jomtien Night market last week...it was rammed with Russians. The beach at Pratumnak is lovely, I would never go down to cosy beach. I love Jomtien also, it just misses out on the small community feel, but that's what's great about here, something for everyone. 🙏🙏
I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED Part 1 & 2 Of These Pratumnack Tours!👍👍 They're INCREDIBLY HELPFUL & USEFUL For People Unfamiliar With The Area, Especially With The Narration, Tips, And Recent History. Maybe, At Some Point, You'll Cover Wongamat. THANK YOU, VERY MUCH!
David, thanks for sharing such a fantastic video of your area on Pratumnak Hill. I really love that area; it's grown so much in the last 10 years! There are so many nice places to stay around there for sure! Cheers from Alaska!
My friend lives in The Sands Condo, just 2 floors above the pool ledge there. Absolutely awesome ocean and sunset views. That is a great area! I was hanging around there early Jan. Excellent!
Top notch video DS. Great HD images too. Not seen much of the area before. Used to stay at Citrus Parc Hotel pre covid but never ventured down Pratumnak, always went into town instead. Missed out. Got a month hol in a few months' time, will check it out and stay a few nights there.
Thanks for the tour Dave. I'm definitely interested in renting a condo or apartment. The area seems quite enough and I like riding a push bike as you call it. And it seems like it might have everything I need to live. I will have to check it out.
Hi David, very good informative helpful videos. I subscribe to both your channels. I’ll be visiting Pattaya soon for a short holiday, what hotel would you recommend? I don’t like slumming it and it needs to be nice with good facilities and pool etc and easily commuting for the nightlife. Well done again.
Having to pass by "The Weedfather" shop everyday, ugh how they've overdone that kind of stuff over there, my sympathies to you and your residence complex.
Hi, in my opinion Pratumnak is slightly more upmarket than Jomtien, which is evident in rental prices. Hospitals are all fairly accessible from either Jomtien and Pratumnak. City, Memorial, Bangkok Pattaya, International and the Jomtien Bangkok Pattaya which is on Sukhumvit 🙏🙏
Any chance you have a vacancy for rent in your building. I like the area and my Thai girlfriend and I are interested in a 1 year rental. We might look at buying, but that's not the first step. I've followed you from Canada for sometime and lived in the Ritz on soi 5 for awhile.
We have been looking in the area, but so far we've not found what we want. I am returning to Canada to resolve some buisness matters at the end of this month. Then plan to be back in a month or 2. I have a multi entry long term retirement visa. My girlfriend is Thai and still working, but she has plans to stop when she gets her son's university costs dealt with. For now we are looking ,but patiently
Interesting to note that you called the orange buildings is there any reason to not say nng? I do quite like pratumnak but, does the higher level of Russians make it less desirable? I have often found them to be a bit rude, not queuing etc.😊
Just me I think, I wanted to make sure everyone would understand. The Russians (some of them) can be a pain, but I'm not shy when it comes to queue jumpers. The weed shop in our building is Russian owned, and after just two months he is on his final warning for loud music...one more and he will not be allowed to have anything on the patio area (which he doesn't rent) 🙏🙏
Thanks for your reply David. Yes the Russians do often seem to act as if they don't need to comply with basic rules. I did smile when you said that you weren't shy when it comes to queue jumpers 😂.
I believe they were expanding in many areas, when Covid came, they still had to pay the 9% but with no rental income, they have so many units it depleted funds fairly quickly 🙏🙏
As Keef said, but the best performing videos on this channel are the ones that focus on helpfully stuff, visa etc....i love doing the food videos with Nong but as I said, she is working alone at her shop and struggles to get any time off 🙏🙏
Thanks David. I love this part of town, much more chilled than the city centre but still with everything you need on your doorstep. 11 months and counting until I retire and start looking for a nice place in Pratumnak to enjoy a life of leisure. 😀

Those sun glasses at the beginning nearly blinded me .
I fell out of my chair backwards !
Lol, they halped protect my eyes, my hands/arms got pretty burnt that day 🤣🤣
Thanks David many trip s.pattaya 25yrs but soi 5 looks my type now im older and bolt seems good, i always stay bangkok as well which i love , cheers.
FX Hotel stayed there on both mytrips.Cant fault the place, great value.Changed so much the Pratamnak area over the years.X
Great tour(s)! I never considered Pratumnak, but now it's a front-runner

Thanks David for another informative vlog and enjoyable. It makes it easier to make a decision to move to Pattaya.
Good stuff David!!!

Lovely building and location, my friend owned 1605 but sold it about 5 months ago. I did a video on the unit before 🙏🙏
Cool and awesome,wow,epic.
Sauna bar soi 6 very good 200 bahts Very good video walk all round that area beach bum bar good nice walk from 7 11 to jomitiem

Love Pratamnak, Irish Wolfhound is tops, Beef Stew & Cottage Pie are the best around, sound staff also.
Very helpful and informative. Thanks for sharing
Hi David thanks for the updates I am retiring and moving to Pattaya jontiem next year 😂
My type of the town!
Always a pleasant video.
Thank you sir.

Saw you riding thru LK Metro a couple nights ago. Was gonna say hello but I was with a girl from the US. Love the videos.
Another fine video David love Pattaya I'm looking to buy a house or condo any tips David
The Weedfather! Best name for a cannabis store must be Starbuds (in Pattaya) though- it even uses the same font and colour as Starbucks.
What's the best condo for a 10-14k monthly range? I stayed in the View Talay 3 before, any better ones?
VT 3 would be a great place, I would tend to stick with the older buildings, just to get a decent room size 🙏🙏

I don’t like slumming it and it needs to be nice with good facilities and pool etc and easily commuting for the nightlife. Well done again.
The hotels I used in town (years ago) were Avani and Dusit resort. Both are on the baht bus route and fairly high quality 🙏🙏
👍👍👍
Having to pass by "The Weedfather" shop everyday, ugh how they've overdone that kind of stuff over there, my sympathies to you and your residence complex.
They never have any customers, so don't expect them to be there long 🤣🤣
I watched trv video on jomtiem ..is that the most upmarket place pratimyak?? Is the only hospital on patya ?
Hi, in my opinion Pratumnak is slightly more upmarket than Jomtien, which is evident in rental prices. Hospitals are all fairly accessible from either Jomtien and Pratumnak. City, Memorial, Bangkok Pattaya, International and the Jomtien Bangkok Pattaya which is on Sukhumvit 🙏🙏

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍
Hey David any units available in your complex? What’s the rent like, I’ll be there in April
Just now the building is full, there may be a ground floor two bed (with private plunge pool) around 23k per month 140 sqm possibly around 14th May 🙏🙏
Can I get the name of the complex, I’d like to stop by in April and speak with the juristic office
Sure, Orn is the Juristic and the building is Nova Ocean View 🙏🙏
Thank you David

@rodcolvin6341 that's the best way, don't rush, something will appear 🙏🙏
Thank you so much for this great video David. Pratumnak is very nice thank you for showing us 🙏.
Shame about the Castle condos, Id love to say to my friends in England "I live in a castle"....

What happened to the Wolfhound to make it less popular?
It was sold, and if you read Keefs comment it may give you an indication. 🙏🙏
Bo moved on then...?/@@DavidAndNong
@@DavidAndNong To be honest the service was awful when I was there and as I mentioned in my post their attitude wasn’t good.
Yeah, I read your comments. I used to eat at the Wolfhound a lot in 2015-16 when I lived in the area.@@keef6586
@keef6586 yes a few have mentioned similar to me, the food quality along with the service dropped off 🙏🙏
Nordic could not have been making that much money they went bust from what a heard

David you should just do videos with your wife and your followers would quadruple
If you look at the other videos on this channel you will see the vast majority are with Nong visiting restaurants and other interesting places.
