@@manda8512 I love shoes as well, but I haven’t made shoes for myself yet. I’m an orthopaedic shoemaker, that means I make custom shoes for my customers. So everyone gets their own custom last as well.
90% of the people that come to me can’t walk without custom shoes, because they have deformitys in their feet and legs.
And it really is awesome. Everything I make is different, I never do the same thing twice and that is what i really love about my job😁

So cool and inspiring! My dad is a shoe cobbler, and he doesn’t have the spare time to make shoes from scratch so I’ve never seen the process. You should make more pretty shoes but definitely glue the lining to the uppers. The glue reinforces the shape and prevents awkward wrinkling.

This could be great for cosplayers to make more accurate character shoes. This is so cool
Loll Kiana using glue before stitching when making shoes or purse is VERY important. Lol It has nothing to do with your ability to stitch in a straight line. Because these things carry around a lot of weight and movement that extra security is needed to ensure the durability of the shoe. Anyways these turned out great!
Actually, you are supposed to remove the seam allowance from the glue afterwards and press open the seam instead! (As instructed by the shoemaking instructor)
I used glue afterwards to then press the seam open and to add security. The glue for that first step was truly just to hold in place for a moment

Girl, I feel so inspired! I had no idea this was even remotely doable
I remember making shoes in high school. I found a local shoemaker to help me. Although I focus on making clothes- shoes have always been near and der to my heart. Shoes, coats, and waist cinchers/corsets- my first fashion loves. *deep sigh* I looked at their products years ago, but I was broke then lol. I'm about to get back into it because I can't find the shoes I want ANYWHERE.
I'm proud of you for choosing boots (and high heeled boots at that) as your first project! My first lasts were "flats", but I always planned on 4" heels lol! The ankle width for boots tend to make them difficult to pattern well, I'm so glad yours came out so nice!

I sew, I make costumes, I've tried making sandals, but this looks neat. I've been thinking of using EVA foam for soles. I have some different ideas, even more unique than what they sell stuff for, but this shows the process which is really cool. Next time I go to the local store I at least have some ideas of what I'd need.

Ahhh this was so cool! Amazing job, I just wish you showed more about sticking the platform to the shoe, like the type of glue you used and how long you left them and how you pressed them. I got so curious abt that part!
