Fantastic! Thank you for the upload. RIP Robert Hunter. The lyrics he penned are right up there with Bob Dylan, the man he is most likely talking about at the beginning. ;)
th-cam.com/video/_2tCGRdZ5d8/w-d-xo.html Damn it Bob. This was 34 years to the day after we wrote Touch of Gray. I hope you all like the John Hartford reference but none of this has ever been gentle on my mind.
Sounds to me like he's talking about Dylan, the guy who in 1963 famously "plugged in" at the Newport Folk Festival and set the world on fire. Hunter wrote Silvio and Dylan asked to record it.
In memory of the poet laureate of my generation, Robert Hunter.

I am glad you like it. Neither Dylan nor Hunter wrote the chorus. The best four lines I ever wrote.th-cam.com/video/_2tCGRdZ5d8/w-d-xo.html

"Silvio"
I haven't been able to make out what he says but I do think he is referring to Brent

@@shadygrove Ya it would be Dylan I'd also think seeing how they share the writing credits on this particular song.
