Used to play at Lupo's with my reggae band Jamaica Way. One night during the bi-centennial the crew of the Russian tall ship was on the dance floor and starting doing this me-too-long-at-sea dance, a strip tease really, which culminated with the last man standing pulling down his skivvies, for an instant. Those crazy Russians!!

But I got this thing with dots on it and it taught me how to play guitar for the first time ever

After that, I was in a counseling session, and Scott Murawski had said that I was never in a band. It was always a hallucination.

I didn't get into Max Creek during their heyday but have started to really appreciate them in the last two years. I think them and Widespread Panic took the dead's approach to playing live and touring and became the template for 'jam-bands' and helped create the whole scene. They weren't looking to sell out for radio exposure and retained a lot of integrity in their music. Same with Panic. Can't be said for some of the so called jam bands that followed and then phish came around and took the scene and music in a whole new interesting direction, adding funk, new wave and prog rock elements and their whole irreverent lyrics/not taking themselves too seriously really caught on with bands that followed, too the point where I miss more roots rock influenced jam bands like max creek and widespread panic

saw the creek a couple of times in upstate ny in that era. the guitarist/singer with the short hair lent me his saline solution when i was dancing in front of the stage with dry contacts. he was so kind. those were really good times.

You were the soul. The Dead was the mouthpiece. Thank you for words and phrases that I remember 50 years later. Bless you.

From Old Saybrook Ct used to see Creek at the Agora Ballroom in the mid 80's after highschool 87' went to college in Boston at Northeastern University,we go see Creek every Wednesday at the Living Room

Literally a stones throw from my backyard. I’d atv the forest trail between my place and the golf course this was played on. I was in my junior when strawberry jam happened. As a young hippie, it was my initiation and my own little chunk of Woodstock I can visit in memory. The venue is now residential property privately owned (I will own it one day hopefully, for the sake of making it a nice hippie commune

OmG I just looked this up...... What an awesome Max Creek jam fest .....memories sweet memories I was 15 and had a blast at this show ....... so much fun ...they played werewolves of London and it was AMAZING 👏 😍 🙌....Thanks Max crew for a great show.......
