  • Full appraisal of Jack Pyke Hunter boots. They are well worn now and this is the truth about how these boots perform.

I bought a pair of these a good few years ago I belive at least ten years and they are still going strong, the tongues are as stated a weak point. They have developed a small hole In the rubber rand which i have repaired with a patch, although I do wear waterproof socks now with them.Everything else about the boots I think Is great for the money.I wear the boots for angling and some short walks along river banks.I like these that much I have bought another pair to replace them,I look after my boots [sometimes] and they have been durable enough for me,so I now have two pairs that I can call upon depending on the need at the time.Would certainly reccomend these boots for angling purposes.

I've had a pair of these boots for 3 months, the sole has already come off 1 boot and is hanging on by a thread on the other, within about a month of having them the "leather" on the tongue completely pealed off. They are still 100% waterproof however so I'll give them that plus they are amazingly comfy and never had a problem with the fit etc, just not worth £130

4 years! Bloody hell I've spent 3 times as much and never had a pair last anywhere near that time!

Good honest review, thanks. I've never yet had a pair of boots that have remained waterproof for long. Like you, I use waterproof socks (Bridgedale Storm I think they are). Comfort and grip of these boots is ok, so I keep them.
I also do long distance walking as well as shooting. Jack Pyke boots go on shooting day trips. Fully ventilated trail running shoes go on long distance walks. I've given up with boots on long distance walks. I can't begin to dry them out at the end of a days walking.

Great review. They're not a boot maker are they. I have some of their clothing. A pair of Altbergs will do better. No frills military tabbing boots

sme4969 The more I hear about the brand the more I think the name has a bad reputation. Although I’ve had these 4 years they were showing serious wear after 6 months.
