Those Addams Family figures brought back some memories. I had Lurch and Uncle Fester. On another note, I’d love to see what ever happened to the unreleased waves of Resaurus toys. I loved their stuff as a kid, but they just faded away.

It's really strange since Morticia got a figure but not her, which puts a stop to that "it's toys and boys only want male figures" theory. But seriously they chose Pugsly over Wednesday?? This was when the movies were popular and everyone and their grandma knew that Wednesday was their favorite kid from the movies! Even in the cartoon Pugs was just forgettable while Wednesday had her charm as always.
I hate it when companies don't release full families in the first wave... I held off on the Addams toyline BECAUSE of this. Recently this happened again when Mego released Marries with Children figures. We got Al, Peg, and Kelly....but no Bud. So the family will never be complete.

I haven’t really seen any of those things 🤔 there’s a lot of the preproduction artwork but not a lot indicating other characters, it was a movie franchise so the longevity depended on the success as well

Tribes did somewhat get made, but by Lego, it was called Bionicle, they went all out with the collectible masks in its first two years, each figure had a gimmick involving weapon swinging gimmicks hitting their masks
Where did you get those shots of the Tribes physical toys which looked to me like they were in sealed graded cases. Man I wish someone would do some knockoffs or reproductions on that line because I want them all

Such an underrated toy line. The Seaduck and the air pirate fighter were amazing. All the figures look like they walked off the screen. Playmates brought it with there Disney Afternoon lines
This is definitely a Precursor to M.a.s.k. Think about it. It has big masks with powers. It has a mask named firehawk and one of the characters is named The tracker. Too many coincidences if you ask me

Love the Sky Commanders so much when I was 10 years old. Still love seeing anything pop up about them on my feed. And I have never heard about the dropped 2nd line!! Thanks for giving this to me 38 years later - made my day!
Interestingly enough, a concept similar to Tribes will be fully realized with Bionicle by Lego in 2001. Action-figures, beasts and vehicles with action features to play together and knock off the mask of the opponent. Each mask granting a different power, with blind bags (of masks) who may include rare colors. The idea is that of an island populated by tribes of biomechanical beings (they have high technology but very close to earth culture), their god/guardian has been tricked and a dark entity is tormenting them by unleashing monsters and corrupting nature. Their only hope is summoning the six heroes of legends to fight evil. The line lasted ten years with a pretty heavy storyline, and the wild island is only the background of the early years. Nothing is exactly what it seems at first and it get pretty wild at the end.
You almost need to do a series called “Reinforcements: The Second Series of Famous Toy Lines” as many either expanded or contracted for various reasons, of course!
i wouldn't mind having the Tribes...but the looked a bit stiff for basic Action figure fun. My brother had Sky Commanders, and i thought they were interesting.

Playmates did do some wind up gimmicks in their wacky action tmnt line, stuff like the mauser could probably have been applied to this 🤓
